We took our dog in for a routine check up, his rabies shot, and a heartworm test. When I checked in, the receptionist went through our dogs file and said, "So just a rabies vaccination and heartworm test?" And I said yes. Dr. Fischer made us wait in the exam room for nearly an hour. When she walked in the room, she completely ignored our dog and proceeded to spend several minutes going over his file. Then she decided she was ready to examine him without even so much as greeting him, letting him sniff her, or anything. I was extremely unhappy with the way my dog was handled by her and I wish I would have had the nerve to stop the exam and leave then and there. As my dog was getting his rabies shot, I said, "This is the three year shot, right?" NO! It was the one year! Why on earth would they assume someone wanted a one year vs. three year shot without even asking? So she had to go give him ANOTHER rabies shot because we wanted the three year. (Obviously I should have checked this when we went it, but other vets we have visited automatically give dogs the three year rabies.) Then she proceeded to tell us that it was okay that she had just pumped four years worth of vaccinations into our dog, it wouldnt hurt him. While it will hopefully not hurt him, it definitely isnt A GOOD thing either! Vaccination reactions arent that uncommon and our dog is especially sensitive to them. I have come to the conclusion that they do this take advantage of pet owners who do not know that the 3 year rabies vaccine is available because they make more money from getting to repeat the 1 year every year. As I was paying, I discovered that she had also given our dog the DHLPP booster. I was not aware that he received this vaccination and we definitely DID NOT want him to have it. The receptionist had not said anything about it when we checked in and the vet did not mention it as she gave it to him. We had decided to limit unnecessary vaccinations on our pets as the research indicates that their original shots last from 7 years to life. As I already mentioned, our dog has had a bad reaction to a vaccination in the past, so even if we did decide to give him a booster, we would never ever have combined it with the rabies vaccination in the same day. Im not angry about paying for the shot, Im angry that they gave it to my dog without my knowledge or consent. I blame our bad experience on myself almost as much as this clinic. I should have made it clear in the beginning that he was ONLY to receive the THREE year rabies, and once I saw how Dr.Fischer handled my dog I should have stopped the exam and left. Unfortunately, this clinic was highly recommended to us by friends, and we had a very good experience at a previous appointment with a different vet that no longer works there. I will definitely not be going back.

Dr. Fischer saved my cat. I am a low income, disabled adult. This month was especially hard on my wallet, as I had to pay 2 months rent at once because of was unable to pay the month before. My cat was very ill, shes an emotional service animal that was a gift from my father before he passed away. So as you can see, shes special. I called my precious vet and told them how Ill my cat was, and that I wouldnt be able to pay the full price today and asked to make payment arrangements. I cant use care credit because I have no way to pay that right now. Yadda Yadda yadda. Was told they couldnt help me. My friend referred me to Fischer animal hospital. I called, told them the situation, and had an appointment the next day. My cat was worse than I thought, very ill with something wrong with her liver. Her skin was all yellow but at home I use yellow lights so I could not see that. Dr Fischer worked with me. We arranged a payment plan for blood work. Turns out that my cat stopped eating when we lost the house and moved due to stress and caused her to get a fatty liver. Were giving her fluids to flush ithe out. Its been 3 days now and shes already starting to act more like herself. Thank you, Dr. Fischer. You saved her life with a bag of fluids when my other vet wouldnt even look at her. Thank you for valuing my pet.

I called Fischer Animal Hospital because I needed to purchase Capstar and my vet (VetStop) was out. The woman I spoke with was very nice and answered all my questions. She told me that yes, they had it in stock, and the price was $18.62 for a 6-pack ($7 less than my vet had told me it would be!). I was very happy with the price and told her Id come by shortly to get it. An hour later I drove to Fischer to purchase the Capstar. When I went to check out I was told that the price was $37 (?!). I explained that I had already called and been quoted a price of $18. After a few minutes I was told "ooops, she quoted you the employee price" and again told that it would be $37. I left at that point, without the Capstar. Not only was it DOUBLE what they had told me over the phone, it was $12 more than at VetStop. What a complete and total waste of my time and gas. A co-worker had good things to say about Fischer and I was thinking about switching, but I will definately stick with VetStop.

My partner went in with one of our little dogs. Because of a lump she found on our bog under her arm. She waited a long time in those little uninviting rooms and when the Dr. finely came in she never found the lump, acted very rushed and left, yet still charged her! Then she called in with a question, asked the question to whoever answered the phone, and to this day 8-28-17 she has never heard from them with the answer. She ended up going to the web to get the answer. We used to go to Dr. Fisher years ago but we moved away and we loved her. But when went back my partner says its not the same and she does not want to go back there at all!

I have been going to Fischer Animal Hospital for years now. I have tried 3 others and nothing compares to them. I always get great service and never feel as if I am getting over charged like I was at other vets offices. I can call anytime with a question and they are always willing to help me. Both of my dogs are happy to go there for their yearly vaccinations and both of them are shy dogs. They keep track of everything. Each time one of them needs blood drawn they know exactly which leg to draw from. My mom goes there with her 3 dogs along with a few of my friends. I am so glad I finally found a vet I trust. 4th time’s the charm

Fischer is a great place to go if you do not mind waiting in a hot stuffy room where you are forgotten. We went there to get our 19 week puppy two shots, just shots. We waited in the room for 45 minutes, and got to hear the vet take care of someone who came in after us. They completely forgot about us, plus their prices are extremely high, compared to several other vets. I will not continue to let them care for my pets again.
