I have been seeing Dr. Lui for 5 years or so and its sad for me to leave a bad review for his practice because I believe he is a good doctor who pays attention to my needs as a patient but I have never once had a good experience with his front office staff. Either the staff is too busy or uncaring to their duties but every time I am in the office there is a billing issue or insurance issue and the staff seems unaware of patient files or situations. There could be a lack of communication between staff members, Im not sure but please be aware that the front office staff is not always sure what is going on with your appointment or insurance. My last visit to see Dr Lui for my annual, I was told I was being billed for a no show for an appointment which was scheduled and canceled earlier this year. In regards to that canceled appointment, I had called two days before my appointment to ask the front office if my insurance was eligible because if it wasnt I didnt want to pay for my visit out of pocket, the office didnt get back to me until the day before my appointment to let me know I was not yet eligible so I needed to rescheduled my appointment at a later time when I would be eligible, I was never informed that there was going to be a cancelation fee of $25 for canceling my appointment less than 24 hrs before my scheduled appointment. My thought though is why would I be charged if I had called to check with the office beforehand? Also if my insurance is ineligible why is it not being verified sooner and why is the front office waiting to let me know less than 24 hours before my appointment hence making it impossible to cancel without a fee charged. I pay for health insurance so of course I want to be able to use my health benefits for my visit instead of paying for it out of pocket. On another note I was never informed on the 5 phone calls I received from the office after that, that I even had a balance since beginning of may and my appointment is now in late June. There was no invoice or bill sent to me or notification. So as a patient after receiving 5 calls from the office and communicating with them about my insurance and making sure the front office has the information needed to verify my insurance and eligibility it would be surprising to hear that I have a balance. To add to that experience I had, I was told that its my responsibility to know my insurance eligibility, I agree, thats why I call the office and my insurance to double check to see if my insurance is eligible. Theres a lack of professionalism and accountability in making that statement to a patient. As the patient I felt that I was doing my job in calling the office to make sure my insurance was eligible and calling my insurance to find out as well days before my appointment. Its scary as a patient to hear one thing from your insurance company and another from your doctors office. Who are you suppose to believe? As a patient I should be able to call the office Im visiting to get clarity. I strongly feel that theres a lack of communication between the Doctor, staff, patient and or insurance. Moving forwarded I have asked Dr. Lui to refer me to another gyno/ob he respects because I no longer feel comfortable or feel that I should struggle with something as simple as an annual visit. If you dont mind being treated unprofessionally by the front office staff than Dr Lui is a great doctor but after so many years I have sadly decided to move on to another doctor.

Worst experience ever. NameMake sure your day is clear if you make an appointment. I had an appointment at noon on my day off and scheduled everything else around it. Single mother of two under 8, I have no family or friends and am new to the city. Having waited 50 past my appointment time, I was risking missing other appointments for the day. I went to ask about my appointment and was told there was still 4 patients ahead of me. I was forced to reschedule and was charged $25. I should have billed him for rescheduling!! Then, I was told my office visit was covered by my insurance over the phone only to be charged a $45 co-pay I top of $50 rescheduling fees. This is information they could have given me over the phone before I drove the 20 miles it was to this office. I understand I should know when I have a co-pay but all this over a follow up visit....to discuss my lab results. I worked in a doctors office for 5 years before moving out here. These are things we would remind our patients about when they made their appointments, because we cared about keeping them happy. I will never come here again and the woman who referred me said she has been dissatisfied in recent weeks as well.

If I could give zero stars I would. I was a patient as of today. I had a tubal ligation done about a year ago when myself and my husband went in to see why all the sudden a year later I was in immense pain we were told that it could be a complication of the incision site! He admitted to us that he messed up my surgery and then forced me onto the depo shot and also snuck in another surgery. I am 25 and he wanted to do a full hysterectomy! We said no absolutely not yet he still scheduled me for surgery. I went back today because I have been bleeding for a month straight and he said Im absolutely fine and he is the doctor so I should not argue about it. He also tried to force me back onto the depo today. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

I do not recommend anyone to ever go here I spent a ridiculous amount of money and never even got called back with my results there money hungry people and dont even help you all the way the doctor spent maybe 5 mins with me all together . When you call for your results they give you attitude because they didnt do there job right thats not how a patient should be treated. the Worst place ever !!!! If your looking for someone to actually care and help you this is definitely not the place its such a disappointment .

He performed breast implant on me in his clinic in the small room......my worse nightmare he open me up and he decided that its not going to fit the 400 cc he closed me back in and I was in worse pain ever even anesthesia was injected around my boobs put marks all over and he keeps me taking pain killer during the session. Worst ever!!!! Found out from the other doctor who did my breast implant that his on training. He dont know what the heck his doing.

DR Liu, Is the best OBGYN Dr.that I have ever went to. He is professional and knowledgeable and really cares about his patients. I have referred several friends and family members to him and they are just as pleased as me with him. I have relocated back to the SF bay area and am still considering travel back to see him yearly because he is such an amazing doctor. Yalawnda..
