If I could give it 0 stars I would! I had to get a health card, which was interesting to me coming from Virginia. I didnt mind though, because being new to the area, I was sightseeing at the same time. When I arrived there was hardly any parking, but once inside the wait line for health cards was low. Although there were literally only 4 or 5 of us waiting, it took about 30 minutes start to finish. The employees were very unwelcoming and down right rude. Im pretty outgoing, so while I waited for the lady to take my picture, I tried to start up small talk. "I cant wait to find a serving job, I love to be around people" I exclaimed. To which she replied "thatll change once you get around my age, I would rather people not come in". A little alarming, seeing as how she works with the public, but I just let it go. Afterwards, she told me I would have to go to the Cashier to pay and disappeared through the door. The layout is not very helpful if youve never been before, so understandably I couldnt locate where the Cashier was. I go into another line to which the employee handling that line yells out "Im not the Cashier" with a tone that clearly informed me she was agitated for whatever reason. I politely ask "Where will I find the cashier"? I kid you not, she COMPLETELY ignores me and another customer who witnessed the whole ordeal nicely informs me its on the other side. I pray that when its time to renew my card, that the staff is replaced with more inviting employees because they made a seemingly easy process unbearable.

I am writing this complain in regards to a man by the name of John Roberts, a field inspector and an employee of yours at Southern Nevada Health District. This is to inform you of your current employee and his performance and behavior toward others within a facility being inspected. I, Ashley Johnston was in the process of getting tattooed by Victor Rodriquez when one of your field inspectors walked in to do a health inspection on one of the tattoo facilities located at Decatur & Flamingo. As a business partner, i have high standards of how an individual should conduct themselves. Johns work ethics are poor and he conducts himself in an unprofessional manner. He was not only rude and inconsiderate of the fact there were other clientele within the facility but also conducted himself unprofessionally in the manner of advising what needed to be taken care of in front of other clients. This facility cleanliness holds its upmost highest standards i have seen or been in when it comes to any tattoo location in the city of Las Vegas. I was apalled by how he represented himself and would feel embarrassed as a company to have him as an employee. He is a poor representation of Southern Nevada Health District. I personally feel he has no place interacting with the public when he lacks the most basic sense of propriety and kindness.

Horrible experience with this location. The video training they require to attain a "health card" is not provided at the location anymore. I asked where I could be able to watch their video and they said "You have to go online and watch the video." Well going "online" requires a computer, which they wont provide anymore. I asked where to be able to go to use a computer to watch the video? They gave me a list of locations which by the way 1/2 ARE NO LONGER IN OPERATION! Wasting time, gas, and tons of frustration. I drive around all over the city until I gave up and went to a local library. With the video + test taking over 2HOURS! I was able to attain the certificate. Coming back, this location was closed! They need better training, accessibility to their REQUIRED training video, better direction to the customer, and a location anywhere in the metro area with extended hours just in case they decide to make the Customer run around the city and waste their time to watch a video. I understand that anyone could watch a video online but under my situation, I did not have access to a laptop because I was in the middle of relocating. This location makes it very inconvenient to a customer seeking a "health card". I recommend better training to the associates and updates to any forms they decide to provide to the guest.

When you are new to town and on the bus, this health card is tough to get. All other locations that the casinos and restaurants tell you to go to have been closed down. First you must take the test on line. The SNHD page redirects you to VegasPbs. Then you have to make an account and pay $20-- online and $20-- in person, thats a total of $40. I DO NOT HAVE A CREDIT CARD! So it took me more time to go get one in my name. If you dont have a PC, you have to make an appointment at the public library and watch the videos & take the test there. I took notes and only got 1 wrong answer. Took a bit over an hour. If you dont take notes plan for 2 hours of computer use. I forgot all the temperatures already. They redirect you to a small building next door for your Health Card. The nice lady with the broken English is the only one that has manners and good customer service. Everyone else working here looks so unhappy to have a job. Let me tell you, I have been without a full time long term job since 2009 & on $200 of food stamps a month. With a shining smile, Ill take their full time, benefits, sitting down job any day. They are fast in calling your number. You need a state ID & SS# card or USA passport. You will also need the print out that you passed the online test. You will be out of there in 25 to 45 minutes.

We had a great experience today at the Southern Nevada Health District. My mom and I went in to get some travel vaccines for an upcoming trip. We didnt have to wait long at all before we were directed to a woman who took all of our insurance information. The best part is that she was able to look up all my vaccine records, which I didnt have. Next we were quickly directed to a nurse who was extremely friendly and helpful in dealing with us. She gave us an overview of which vaccines were recommended and which we didnt need. Insurance covered much of the vaccine payment, and what we had to pay otherwise was very reasonable. The vaccines were extremely quick and safe. I would definitely recommend going here if you are getting travel vaccines. Every other private vaccine clinic that I looked into charged at least $100 just for the consultation and lots extra for each vaccine! Those types of places will not tell you how much the total cost will be before you make an appointment, and it seems like a bit of a scam. The entire process at the Health District is FREE and you just have to pay for the vaccines themselves. The only thing they dont do is write prescriptions. Everyone we worked with today was extremely nice and made the process completely painless.

Today 12/31/15 I needed to print my daughters test so she could go get her card which also expires today. Ok so much for being prepared.... The Health Dept system is down, oh, until they close EARLY at 230 today. When I called on Tuesday, they said they are open until 430 today. So the girl said, in a less than caring way, well it will be up in an hour, but we are closing early. So I asked, then will she have to pay the late fee of 15.00? The lovely caring person on the phone said, of course, its not our fault you waited until today to do it... I have an idea, your a county agency, why close early then? Why not service the people that you are supposed to? I have another idea, Why make people do all this at home before they come down? I will send this to the media today since this is very unfair to all involved. You don do anything down there now for a health card, nothing except check an id and give out a card. You still charge the same amount as you did when you were processing and showing the movies....why? I got a health card many years ago and the price was pretty close to what it is now and yet I dont get any service now....why? So you will get some attention now over this and I hope your happy.
