The head of the ptsd clinic told me to suck it up. No one would give me a doctors note so I could drop my classes at UNR. I failed out of school and had to pay for it. The oral surgeon said he couldnt give me a tooth implant after he cut a chunk of my gums out, said there wasnt enough bone. I felt like he was lying so he could keep down expenses and get his bounus. I went to the patient advocate and complained. I made them send me to the San Francisco veterans hospital. An INTERN at the San Francisco VA did it with ease. I could have hugged the guy. The list goes on and gets worst. I am now going to have to move out of the area and try the choice program. Most veterans Ive talked to in the area have had the same terrible experience. I have no idea why this place has a good rating. If I tried to use this health network again I would be a fool! The people giving this place 5 stars are smoking crack cocain and are going to find out the hard way.

I needed to see my doctor at the V A Im in a lot of pain but cant get pass the receptionist as she badgered me over A phone call that was telling me my M R I was complete and Ive all ready have received treatment for my symptoms and would not listen to my request to see the doctor or hear that my hearth condition exacerbate this attitude is not only uncalled for and causing extra stress ,but her statements in a room full of people violates my health privacy rights and further frustrates me in which left me no choice but to walk out before it escalated into A further incident ! the Doctors are good but your clerks think that some ones made them Gods I would like to know the name of who give those such power to treat Vets like there Low lifes to the veterans of America

I had paid into the health care system through work most of my life. I Never used it except for annual doctor checkups. When I retired in 2011 I found that even though I could get healthcare through my wifes work it would cost $500/month with an $8,000 deductable. I went to the VA with my DD214 and was immediately accepted into the VA healthcare system in Reno, NV. I wish I had joined earlier. My experience there has been nothing short of exceptional. Last year I was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma on my forehead. It was surgically removed and you can not see where the dime size chunk of skin was removed. Whether on the phone or in person I have always felt that their main concern was my well being.

Went to the VA Hospital in Reno to the Urology Department April 4, 2016, and had a very good experience. Met with Lisa Ona, NP, who was very pleasant, informative and helpful. My wife and I were treated well from the sign in desk out front, to Ms. Ona, to the other lady (Audrey?) who helped with the urine sample. I dont believe that I have had a bad experience since I began using the Hospital several years ago. The only reason I didnt give a five star was because no one introduced themselves. I would like to have known the name, title and function of the folks I was dealing with. But there are some great people who work there and they do a very good job.

I am a Marine Viet Nam vet and have been awarded %100 disability. As a result I can not say enough about the incredible care I receive with every visit to the facility in Reno. Also the facility itself is beautiful and it just keeps getting better and better. Thank you God and the VA. As for all those who give only 1 or 2 stars and complain so loudly are probably not service connected as so many vets who served and were wounded in combat and demand the same attention even though they may have served in not combat zones, like being stationed stateside or some place such as Germany.

Been on hold for over an hour still waiting to talk to someone about making my 90 year old WW2 veteran grandfather an appt. After waiting 30 minutes the first lady gave me the runaround about she had to transfer me to a different dept. Another 40 minutes of waiting and it finally cuts me off saying they are experiencing problems and to just call back some other day? WTF? Are you kidding me? What is wrong with you people? Really is that how you pos treat veterans? I imagine inmates In prison have an easier time getting a doctor appt.

I have worked in the healthcare field all of my life, both in the military and in the civilian sect, and the Reno VA rates in the top 1% for healthcare and excellence in making sure that Vets are happy with the care received. I insist on getting my care at the VA and refuse to go to any civilian hospital. If ever you do experience any dissatisfaction, please contact the director, Shelia Jackson, and she will surely address the problem and give you answers to any questions/problems you have.

most of these google reviewers are people within the VA(union workers) and not necessarily veterans that do not work for the VA. VA Sierra Nevada Health Care does give incentive to give false accountability with there employees. most of the users u see in this review column are veteran employees posing false information about the care and triage.this place is dangerous and will conduct to cover any tracks that holds them negligible for mal practice allegations.

GOD SENT! I FEEL GOD HAS BLESSED THIS VETERANS HOSPITAL. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO WAIT MORE THAN 3MINUTES FOR ANYTHING INPATIENT, TRIAGE, PRIMARY CARE, OR OUTPATIENT, AND THE HOMELESS VET PROGRAM IS BY FAR THE BEST I HAVE SEEN, I FEEL LIKE ROYALTY SOMETIMES WHEN I ENTER THIS FACILITY. Thanks Sierra Nevada VA, your care is a cut above the rest. FANTASTIC! FANTASTIC! EVERYONES HAPPY FROM THE PATIENTS, CLIENTS AND STAFF.

Great people helping Vetrans and my ex likes his doctors..I go with my ex boyfriend to all his doctor appointments to support him, and he is getting really good care here. So far we have not waited more than 10 to 15 mins in the waiting room..I just read some of the reviews and I am kind of shocked at what some are saying here. We have have had nothing but positive visits here.

I cannot for the life of me understand anyone who doesnt just love this VA! They have never let me down, have been efficient and helpful, and above all, they found a cancer in my lung and removed it which saved my life! My four years in the Navy have bought me a lifetime of service from a wonderful organization and I am grateful!! Thank you Reno VA!!!

It took 2 month to get into an appointment with my primary doc and I had a few different concerns to be addressed. Only ONE of them was addressed after multiple attempts to talk about it with the doc. Then he forgets to even prescribe medication for only the one topic of discussion! So frustrated with the VA this is why I dont waste my time here.
