This is the independent contracted optometrist inside the Reno Costco. I prefer the Reno Optometrist to the Sparks Costco. I live in Sparks and it is worth the drive for me. My family have been coming to the Costco Optometrist for several years as we switched from the Sparks one. The office is super small. It has a small desk with the receptionist right as you walk in. There are three seats in the office for clients. Then just behind the seats is a small table with a magnifying glass and a seat for a client to try on contact lenses. Doctor Winkelman is kind, friendly and thorough. He makes sure that you are aware of all your choices. Appointments are easy and convenient to make. His receptionist seems easily annoyed. There was a gentleman in a wheelchair who came to the door (as there is a little bit of a bump that made it hard for his wheelchair to go over) he tried asking for an appointment but she was on the phone and then when she hung up she ignored him. It appeared to me because she was annoyed. I like the fact that I can go to Costco and get my exam, frames, contacts and more all at one stop. As a matter of fact my whole family goes here. Several years ago we were in Disneyland and my daughter lost a contact. We were able to contact the Anaheim Costco and purchase her prescription contacts from them. What a nice perk.

The doctor is really good with kids and adults. He makes sure you are good with your eye prescription and contacts. Easy to make appointments and takes walk-ins.

Friendly, courteous, and professional! Must better result with Dr. Winkelman than the Optometrist we used previously.
