Let me just make a public announcement real quick. I suggest that no one EVER bring their animals to vca riverside animal hospital. So I drop mazie off for daycare today so I can run a few errands. Let me tell you that I left her there for no more than 3 hours. I pick her up and shes literally gasping for air as the girls are telling me oh no shes fine, shes just excited to see you. And I keep telling them that Ive never heard that noise before and something isnt right. I then ask if shes been drinking water which the girl replied "I think". Now weve had this problem again and weve talked to so many different people there to make sure they know they need to MAKE SURE she drinks a lot because shes stubborn. So, "I think", was not an okay answer at all. I made the girl go get mazie ice, she didnt even want to take it from her and all she had to say is well if shes still doing this in an hour you should probably call us back but I think shes fine. So here I am, freaking out. Freaking out is an understatement actually by far. I get home and just give her so much ice because shes pretty much devouring the ice and this point. Her entire face was blood shot red. My poor baby couldnt breathe and they didnt care nor did nothing about it and just dismissed it. I dont know how long this went on but Im sure lucky I picked her up when I did. Dont bring your animals there. They simply do not care.

We go to a local vet, (just minutes from our home) and one 4th of July weekend, my 21+ year old siamese cat went into renal failure. Dr. Taylor was on call - but also on vacation, hours away from the hospital. We made one call to Riverside and Dr. Taylor came straight to the hospital to see us. He did not know us from a blade of grass, but came directly to the hospital and treated us like close family and was very kind to my Ming Toy. We knew this was the end and Dr. Taylor offered to "take care of business" with us, I was too, too emotional even tho the cat deserved my presence, I could not stay in the room. I was wracked with emotion. 21 years is a long time - a life time and she was a wonderful friend. Do you know, nobody asked us for a dime! Some places will not even see you unless you hand over your drivers license and a credit card.....(We got our bill from Riverside a week or so later, which we fully expected, yet it was only 1/2 what we anticipated. So, changing all our animals over to this hospital is a good decision. Every single person on staff there is caring, considerate, committed and friendly. Our circumstances were sad for a first meeting, but Dr. Taylor made it as easy as he possibly could. Five star rating on this hospital is being conservative!

When Mary and i got Casey he was a patient at Riverside already, we kept him there at the ok from our vet . we kept Casey till Mary past away on Mothers Day 2013 -- The staff at Riverside were so helpful and accommodating. I got Casey certified as a Service Dog for my disability. He also became the very 1 st P.A. certified Dog in the state . and for his breed that was super . the staff was with Casey and I all the way. Casey then needed some dental work very Badly and again they were there especially Jess. she made every thing possible.and when i have a bad time the staff -always there not just for Casey but for me also and with my disability and on SS that means so much.They give meaning to the word CARING !!! You should be proud of your entire staff at Boscawen N.H. I would not be with out them as long as my Casey is with me or me him .. Sincerely-- James and Casey Lafond Thank You All.

I wish I could do more than five stars!! These are only people I 100% trust with my pitbull. Ive never met a more animal loving group of people. My baby, Opie, has some health issues, including a life threatening case of picca/separation anxiety, which actually wouldve killed him if it wasnt for Riverside squeezing him in (for the first time), at such short notice. And then after they saved Opies life, both the vets AND the doggy daycare staff continue to treat him with so much love, care, and attention, and work with us both to continue finding ways to manage Opies health issues. I cannot thank the VCA staff enough!!

I called in because I thought my cat had a case of fleas and also was in need of a check-in. Ashley was incredibly helpful and was able to get me in immediately on a Saturday morning the minute I called and the first visit/exam was free. All of the staff was very helpful and welcoming and I would definitely recommend taking your animals there!
