The reason I am writing this review is so that there will NEVER be another human being that has to endure the pain that i have had to endure this past year. For starters my mother was admitted into this hospital for having a slight case of pneumonia after treatment she has ready to be discharged, on the morning of her discharge date I recieved a call from her primary doctor explaining to me that she was "FOUND TURNING COLORS AND THEN WENT INTO CARDIAC ARREST" .My first question was how could she had been "FOUND" turning colors when i specifically asked for my mother to be on one to one watch because she was blind and would not be able to see the nurses button if she needed assistance ,also she had a trach collar and wouldnt be able to call for help either. The doctor mentioned to me that she didnt know if someone was there with her or not but when i arrived at the hospital i knew that that damage my mother sustained may have been beyond repair. My mother sufferd brain damage due to lack of oxygen this type of damage occurs when your without oxygen for over a period of time, she was totally unresponsive and was now in a comatose state. Obviously, after seeing my mother in this state I had questions that i wanted answered. There is absolutely no one in this hospital that by now does not know who i am I reached out to the. CNO, President of the Hospital ,Chief Medical Officer, Patient Advocate, Compliance Manager, Department Manager for 5 west(which is where my mother spent the most of her days). One thing each one of these individuals have in common (in my opinion) is that there all useless. During my mothers stay at this hospital i never got a straight answer for what really happened to her that faithful morning. On top of having the stress of seeing my mother in a coma it didnt stop there. My mom had flies in her room, I made the nurses document everytime they repositioned her because they would not reposition her every 2 hours as directed to avoid bed sores, there were nurses who would have my mother that didnt even know how to suction the trach, one nurse ripped in half my moms peg tube, i would randomly see bruises and nail marks on my moms face and arms, her food would be left off all day if they forgot to turn it on, she was left in her poop for hours till the point were it would be stuck on her behind, it was a struggle just to get them to give her bed baths daily. Thats just to name a few things. There are some good nurses maybe 4 out of the entire hospital but they are overlooked because of the overwelming amount of horrible ones, one nurse even had the balls to tell me my mother was fat, I always thought that man was on something because he seemed out of it ,all of the time. I recently heard through the grape vine that his position was terminated because he was found stealing medication from the hospital. Doctors And Nurses all tried to force me into taking my mom off of life support but i refused eventually after 11 months and 5 days my mom succumb to her illness. I wrote all of this to say if there is anyone that you love in this hospital get them out before its too late. NEVER go to this hospital yourself you may not make it out alive. My mom is not the only person that mysteriously dead in this hospital that same exact way. After my mom coded i seen a women come to visit her sister and told me that she had found her sister dead in the room (this was in the telemetry unit where your supposed to always be on a heart monitor). I just hope that this review can save someones life being as though its too late for my mom.

I would like to commend the staff in the Same Day Surgery Unit for the courteous, kind, and professional care they extended to my daughter, beginning from the scheduling of the pre-admission tests prior to surgery through Ms. Helen, up to her discharge post-surgery on August 7, 2014. Special mentions go to: Ms. Daldene, who assisted my daughter with her urine/pregnancy test, and made follow-ups to get its results so the surgery could be performed; Ms. Ann Francisco, who attended to my daughter with empathy, warmth, gentleness, and professionalism as she responded to my daughters needs post-surgery, as well as apprehensions and questions about her operative leg, and possible medical problems which might arise when at home, and how to best deal with them. She was thorough in explaining to my daughter the doctors instructions relative to her discharge. Ms. Francisco also gave my daughter a brief lesson on the use of the crutches; Mr. Richard Lowlard, who readily assumed responsibility for my daughter when Ms. Francisco left the Unit. Mr. Lowlard explained further the tips shared by Ms . Francisco, and skillfully demonstrated the various ways to use the crutches. He was patient and highly skilled in this aspect, and made sure my daughter could use the crutches properly before she started to prepare for her discharge. Mr. Lowlard also very kindly helped her put on her footwear. He also accompanied my daughter to the car, making sure that she was seated properly and safely on the way home. With all these friendly, courteous, kind, and professional care my daughter was treated to when she had her final surgery, we would like the Management to know that we are very grateful and highly appreciative of the care she received on August 7, 2014 at the Same Day Surgery Unit and prior to that. Needless to say, we are also thankful to the staff at the Operating Room for their assistance from the moment my daughter was taken out of the Unit for her scheduled surgery up to the time she was brought back post-surgery.
