The New Point Campus where the Psychiatric Units are is disgusting. This a revenue to the 2D DDD unit. Im surprised no one mentioned it. Still uses archaic treatment. Leather restraints really?um... They let patients refuse medication. So people are of course going to get out of hand. They believe in positive reinforcement. But if someone is mentally ill, theyre not likely to take medication until forced with injections for awhile until they gain insight again. So even though its a DDD unit, they claim to treat dual diagnosed mentally ill and developmentally disabled patients. So they need the expertise in both areas not just DDD. A lot of their money comes from the State so everyone needs to keep that in mind. Like they cant manage certain patients on their DDD unit, but yet they claim to be able to prevent crises and stuff. The crazy thing is that that 70% of their DDD unit patients, are not mentally ill, yet, are in a psychiatric unit. Also, the DDD unit received someone according to Facebook with pending legal charges. Like I thought all the people with legal issues go to State Facilities. I didnt know that they could send people there who are low functioning with charges to Trinitas. Were not talking Murder here either. Im referencing terroristic threats, simple weapons possession of a 25 year old man in a group home. Yes I am referencing the Hunterdon a County Return Home NJ story, when I say this. Sad to say, there are people that are too low functioning to be competent to stand trial. But I still thought they could not place a "Forensic patient" at Trinitas. Also, the DDD unit proclaims that reduced "long term hospitalization" and 90% of patients are discharged to the community. This is false. When I was on the Unit, so theres 10 beds, 4 patients were on their way to long term hospitals, specifically State Hospitals, including myself, which they openly say are "not the place for DDD clients". So that would mean that 60% of their patients at the given time were discharged to the community. Guess what, Trinitas? Some DDD patients are onto you guys lies. So, the patients that openly tried to leave or signed 48 hours notices or was just too "psychiatric" for them, not DDD related behaviors, or said something about the ongoing on the unit were just sent elsewhere for long term care. The thing is that the State of New Jersey condones these ongoings and lets it continue endlessly. I have got to say that Trinitas should lose their DMHAS and DDD funding for 2D. Definitely should be getting inspections. Heard that they failed Joint Commission inspections on more than one occasion as an entire behavioral health facility. So they need some up keep. Its dirty and people deserve better. Its so old style too.

Describe my experience?? Where do I begin?? The wait is ridiculous!! So ridiculous that you would think drs/nurses would be scrambling around in and out of patient rooms, but no way! They walk around like they hate their jobs. They hang out at the stations and talk a bunch of nonsense! God forbid you approach the station to inquire about your status, after several hours of patiently wtg for someone to update you. They are rude in their mannerism, hardly crack a smile. This is a lengthy review, which I dont usually do unless I am impressed or disgusted. I am truly disgusted. After waiting to see the doctor, she said I needed an xray...fast fwd 3hrs later...NO XRAY...now I dared to approach the bench to inquire and only found out that the order for xray was never put in and it will be put in now!! Are you freaking kidding me?? I was having shortness of breath! I had an ekg when I arrived, so I knew I wasnt having a heart attack, I was feeling better after relaxing for so many hours, that I requested to cancel the xray order and wished to have my IV removed and leave the hospital. I will never ever go there again! Ive been there in the past because I live in the town, though my past visits were not as bad, theyve never really been pleasant either. Waits are always long, but does depend on your emergency. But once they realize your emergency is not life threatening you are tossed to the side to rot and wait. If your emergency allows you to drive...I highly recommend you drive the extra 15min to another hospital. Dont have to take my word for it, go to Trinitas and you will see for yourself! P.S I want to add that not all of the drs/nurses/techs are Ill mannered and extremely slow, Ive met a few that are kind, caring and productive...but I would say 3 out of 4 professionals will not leave you with a pleasant experience.

How is it possible that someone will collapse right in front of the registered nurse and the person doing the registers on the front desk and they dont do nothing. Then a patient comes in that cant walk because hes in a severe pain and then the nurse tells him to get up because they need the wheelchair and sit on the regular chairs because eventually hes going to have to get up when hes being checked by the doctor. The poor kid was in severe pain thats so unethical. Myfriend also had to go in with her mother because she had breast cancer, The nurse was not knowledgeable and proceeded to take her blood pressure on the same arm where her pick line was located. She went on to tell her that she knew what she was doing although she did not and if it wasnt because my friend was there she wouldve continued. How is it that shes working at a hospital and is a registered nurse and graduated doing something like that. Please let me know what university she went to suckle go get my License too. Anyways I ended up leaving and going to the Overlook Hospital in union just because I was so upset at the fact that the nurses and the staff seem like they didnt care about our health And they were just there for a paycheck. Im never again going to that hospital again. If you dont want to work at a hospital dont apply for the hospital job position leave, do us all a favor. What a shame.

Worst hospital ever! Last month i went there because i thought i had a stye on my eye. The doctor sees me and says hmm i dont know what this is then he says oh its ringworm. I go back 2 days later because the cream he gave me was making my eye worse. The 2nd dr i had seen said what no its just an allergic reaction. Wtf really. This hospitals problem is they allow all these young no experience"cnas" come in who dont know what there doing as well as the residents. Lastly 4 months ago i had my baby there while in labor the anesthesiologist drained fluid from my brain (as they put it) and i couldnt walk sit up or take care of my baby it lasted days. Then after 4 days i went back and they said my newborn can come up to the 5th fl even though i was getting admitted while on the 5th floor the nurse said im sorry they gave u the wrong info someone has to get your baby she cant stay. Then said if you cannot find someone to get her we have to call dyfs! REALLY DYFS BECAUSE I WANT TO MAKE SURE MY 4 DAY OLD BABY IS BEING FED SINCE I WAS BREASTFEEDING I HATE THIS HOSPITAL SO MUCH THEY HAVE CAUSED ME NOTHING BUT MORE STRESS AND ISSUES.
