Apathetic & uncompassionate! Our dog was hit by a car & taken here by Animal Control.(our elders caretaker inadvertently let our dog out) After calling the police, we were led to Middletown Animal Hospital. (No one scanned our dog for his ID chip & his collar was ripped off by the car)When we called, it took 10 minutes to find out if he was there. Unprofessional: When we arrived, our dog was in a room, on the floor, shaking & bleeding from from different areas on his body. When the VET came in, she asked what happened, we told her he was hit by a car and fled the scene. The VET INSISTED he was bit by a wild animal. We told her that it was witnessed. When we asked her what was wrong with him, she said "Well, he has open wounds." Thats when we realized the VET had not seen or evaluated him. Our puggle had been there for 45 min. before we arrived. The VET proceeded to stand by the door. We asked What do we do next?" The Vet told us that they were closing in an hour and they did not have time to treat or stitch him. APATHETIC: I commented "you are refusing to treat him?" and an assistant said "She is not refusing to treat him, she just doesnt have the time." I asked what do we do? The VET told us to "Take him home and come back in the morning!" (In case your wondering, two cats were waiting for their check-up) Bleeding? Shaking? Take him home? SOLUTION: We called Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. Upon arrival, they took our puggle from our arms...X-rays and gentle cleaning. Report: a large HOLE in his cheek that went straight through(several stitches inside & out ), a broken tooth, leg trauma(drain inserted) and scrapes(cleaned). Imagine if we "just took him home." "State of the art animal hospital with caring and compassionate staff" states their Our staff section on the web page. Id add this line... if you have an appointment.

I cannot say enough good things about Middletown Animal Hospital! The thing I didnt like about my old animal hospital, and the reason why I switched all of my animals over to Middletown, was every time I would find a doctor that I liked and tried to develop a relationship with them they would leave the practice. I felt like I was always stuck at square one introducing myself and my pets to new doctors and vet techs. Going to Middletown is like a night and day experience! You and your pets are always treated like family. The entire staff is friendly and knowledgeble from the front desk, to the vet techs, to the doctors. The doctors and techs are always very clear and honest about what theyre doing and giving you all of the information. You never feel like theyre just running random tests or giving unnecessary vaccines just to run up your bill. During your appointment they spend time with you, ask questions, listen to your stories, share their own stories; you never feel like youre being rushed in or out of your appointment. They really take the time to get to know you and your animals and make sure you are comfortable and happy with the care youre getting. The front desk is great about sending reminders when its time to make an appointment and Ive never had trouble getting in quickly for an appointment. They send me happy birthday emails with coupons for all of my animals on their birthdays and a thank you note after you visit them. It may seem like such small things but those personal touches are just part of what makes Middletown feel like family. If youre looking for a friendly and loving envirnment with a small staff where everyone will love your pets as much as you do then Middletown is the place to go!

I will never recommend the place. We took our dog for an surgery to remove kidney stones which the doctor at this place said he need have to save his life. We picked him up after the surgery, he died the next morning which was not even 24hrs after this so call life saving surgery which cost $1,800.00 we paid $1,200.00 These people are so nasty they showed no remorse for our lost. The very next week they started calling and harassing us for the balance due for the surgery after killing our pet. When we called them to find why he died when this is a procedure they told us was done on a regular basis and safe, they were rude and kept demanding the money. Not once did they send letter or called with an reason or express any remorse. If you care about your pet do not take them to Middletown Animal Hospital its all about the money for them.

Hershey our 85 pound chocolate lab has been a patient of Middletown Animal Hospital since he was born 2 1/2 years ago. Every doctor/nurse and associate has been loving and considerate towards us at every visit. From the time he was a 9 pound pup, they must have done something right because it is not normal that a dog would love to see the Vet as much Hershey did and does. He is like a kid - he feels love and he must feel safe at Middletown Animal Hospital because even when we have made an emergency sick visit he wags his tail, and is happy to be there. I have recommended Middletown Animal Hospital many times, and now many friends and family members are patients. So to me they must be doing something right. The waiting area is large enough to hold many animals and Hershey loves the treats! I Would continue to recommend them!

We hit a home run with this place. Daughters Guniea Pig wasnt eating and lost weight and was basically on its way out. We see the vet and after a ridiculously thorough check up he prescribes two medicines and a specialized food and provides clear directions on how to force feed each. The visit price was $160 which I thought was very fair. We go home and feed the GP and after 3 days we notice the GP strength is coming back cause he is fighting the intake of medicine and food. Within a week the GP is eating normally and is his cheerful self. During this time the Vet called up 3 times to follow up on the condition of the GP. I am positive I never received a follow up call from any doctor in my life. Really really great place.

I have been going to Middletown Animal Hospital for about a year and I have never had a bad experience. My most recent visit was due to the fact that my puppy was not feeling well. I called the office first thing in the morning and they had me in in less than an hour. The office is clean and professional and the wait time was minimal. The ladies that took my dogs vitals were kind and caring, had a gentle touch and made my very nervous pooch calmer. I was sick with worry and Dr. Margolis was reassuring , thorough and took the time to answer all my questions. She even made a follow-up call the next day to see how she was doing. This nervous father and his girl could not have asked for a better experience.

I have been using MAH for my entire life! My parents used them for all of our animals growing up and now I use them for my own dogs! From Dr. Ferris, to Dr. Velazquez, to Dr. Mitra and now to Dr. Margolis and their great vet techs, our pets have received top notch care. Weve been through hip replacements, cancer, epilepsy, injuries and ultimately euthanasia. (Weve had 13 dogs and 6 cats :)) They are professional, kind and so compassionate with your animals! Theyre great for well visits too, but ultimately what an owner wants to know is that their pet is a priority and I have always felt that here. When they feel it warrants, they are quick to refer to a specialist if needed! <3 The Power Family
