I was referred to Dr. Lewis by my primary dentist, when dental pain and an X-ray hinted at possible root issues due to past trauma. My initial phone call to the office was met by a friendly and helpful woman who offered me multiple appointments within a quick time frame. When I got to my appointment a few days later the kindness and professionalism continued. I was seen quickly, despite arriving half an hour early. The office was clean (& cute!), the technology used to X-ray my teeth was impressive, and Dr. Lewis introduced himself as soon as the X-rays had been taken. We discussed my symptoms & Dr. Lewis explained that he would complete a series of assessments to determine whether or not treatment would be necessary. Fortunately for me, after he completed multiple tests, my tooth showed no signs of infection. My root was healthy, and the cause of the symptoms I was experiencing was thoroughly explained in a way that was both understandable and interesting. Dr. Lewis made it clear that if certain issues began to occur I should make another appointment, but based on his consultation I did not need a root canal or any further treatment outside of continuing to see my dentist for routine cleanings and preventive care. As the appointment wrapped up, I asked Dr. Lewis if he had time for a couple questions. I expected him to either provide me with quick responses or recommend I discuss the situations further with my dentist, rather than waste his time on topics that did not relate to endodontic treatment. Much to my surprise he thoroughly explained both of my questions, made practical suggestions to help with the situations, and left me feeling beyond thankful that I landed in his office for dental care. When my dentist referred me to Dr. Lewis he explained that the office would be a bit of a hike for me (a little over an hour away), but that regardless of whether I needed a root canal or not I would be glad I visited him, as he is the best at what he does. My experience fully confirmed the referral I received, and while I hope I never need a root canal, I know exactly where Ill go to determine that one is truly necessary and to have it successfully completed. Thank you Dr. Lewis & staff for your help, care & honesty.

I was referred to Dr. Lewis by my primary dentist, when my post broken into two pieces. Half was in the crown and the other was in the canal. My initial telephone call to the office was with Betty, who was friendly and courtesy. Given my sense of urgency, she offered me multiple appointments to accommodate my needs. In fact, she called before my scheduled appointment to inform me that an earlier appointment became available and if I was interested in that one instead the other scheduled. When I arrived for my appointment, they took me into the examining room immediately so I don’t know what kind of magazines or how comfortable the waiting chairs were. The staff was very welcoming and very coutesy. Dr. Lewis explained the complexity of removing the broken post from the canal. Of course, it was not going to be an easy treatment snce my initial root canal (completed by another oral surgeon a VERY, VERY long time ago) had some issues. Since you don’t know me, let me explain that I DO NOT like dental work and the pain it brings (trauma as child going to a shoe-maker for a dentist). Then again, who does? Anyway, Dr. Lewis injected the novocain and within seconds started the treatment. I was saying to myself, “Oh this is going to hurt since he didn’t give the novocain time set in.” but to my surprise I didn’t feel a thing during the treatment. As it seemed that Dr. Lewis was finished, they took x-rays to evaluate the completed work. Dr. Lewis reviewed the x-rays. He explained that he was not satisfied with the treatment and that he was going to re-do the treatment. Again, to my surprise, I was impressed by Dr. Lewis since he could have completed the treatment as is and send me on my merry way. It’s not like he would be seeing me on a regular basis. It’s not I would have known if the treatment was ehh, ok, average or that it went very well. To me, that shows that Dr. Lewis has integrity in the work he performs and that he cares about his patients well-being. Thank you Dr. Lewis for your integrity, care and professionalism. Thank you to the staff for your friendly care and for making my time there comfortable.

Dr. Lewis is redoing a total of 3 root canals in my mouth. One was done 15 years ago in Russia, one was done 10 years ago by a student dentist in NYU, and one was done by a general dentist also 10 years ago. It turns out that the one done by a student dentist actually has 5 (FIVE!) Canals, one main, and two small ones, and two small ones slit into 2 more. The student dentist only saw one main and one small one and missed a total of 3 canals, which led to me having sinus problems for 10 years. After redoing of that canal, I am a lot better. I still have small sinus pains and some allergies, but I can now get though my day without looking like a baloon or feeling I am being hit on the head all day. I am a bit skeptical about long term prospect of the the redo of the Russian done root canal because of bone loss (hopefully it will grow back!), and angry gum (becaue of ill fitted crown and and I am still waiting for insurance to cover the redo of the ill fitted crown because my general dentist wont put it there until she gets ok from insurance (I dont know why)) - I am a bit nervious (actually very nervous). I hope for the best there. Also, Dr. Lewis allows you to have payment plan in his office, which is convenient when you are in pain and on a budget. I have one more treatment, and hopefully all will be well there too.

I was referred to another Endodontic specialist but because of circumstances I was treated by Dr Lewis. I am so happy the way things turned out. I was in pain over the weekend and called the office. Betty immediately gave me an appointment for 8AM Monday morning. When I arrived I was greeted by a very pleasant person who was Betty. The staff Olah and Dr Lewis were ready for my procedure. After consultation Dr Lewis advised me that it was a very difficult case but he would do his best. After high tech X-rays he began his work. Dr Lewis and his assistant Olah worked together in a very efficient manner. Everything was explained to me along the way. When the procedure was completed Dr. Lewis gave me a finished product including the permanent filling. I was given instructions to take Advil for my pain but did not have to take one pill. "no pain". Betty called me today, three days later to see if everything was OK. I would never go to another root canal specialist and would be proud to make recommendations. My wife is on the top of my list. I would also feel very confortable if I have any future questions. Great doctor and great practice.l

I normally wouldnt boast about having a root canal done, but since Dr. Lewis was so gentle and kind, I felt like I should spread the word about him. I have had root canals in the past which were unbearable and painful so going in for another one with a new doctor was nerve wrecking! I was immediately calmed by his staff from the first call to the first visit. Dr. Lewis was very knowledgeable and kind. He explained what was going to happen and how the procedure was going to be done, and I was going to have it done right then and there so it doesnt get any worse. I agreed to treatment and things were underway. He blew me away with how painless the entire process was. From the needle to the procedure I barley felt a thing! I was in and out of his office in the same day. Root canals arent fun, and I wouldnt wish them on my worse enemy, but Dr. Lewiss professionalism is second to none and his skills are immeasurable!
