I have a 12 year old pitbull who Dr. Carlos has been treating for Cancer the last 2 years but Im extremely frustrated and disappointed with their staff and how unorganized they are. Yes his prices are extremely reasonable but I took my pitbull this past Friday to remove his 4th tumor and they told me I got there too late. It was only 7pm. I waited to speak to Dr. Carlos so that I can show him the pictures of the tumor that grew back on my dogs front leg and he instantly said bring him in tomorrow which was a Saturday but he also said bring him in at this same exact time. Again it was 7pm when I showed up. My wife and I waited until the next day and took him around 6pm instead. The clinic was already closed with the doors locked and they refused to do the surgery because the Doctor was leaving. I was extremely upset because Carlos told me to my face the day before that I could bring him in and he would do the surgery. After hearing he wasnt going to remove my dogs 4th tumor, I asked if I can at least have antibiotics and pain meds so I can try to ease his discomfort and pain. Can you believe they said no. They had the nerve to tell me that I should take him to the hospital. If I was able to afford to take him to the hospital I would not be wasting my time bringing him here for the last 10 years...Needless to say my dog is still suffering with no medication beside over the counter aspirin that I had to purchase. I really thought they were different here but its obvious they truly dont care what your animal is going through. Mind you this has been 4 weeks in a row that they either close early or he leaves early because he always has an emergency somewhere else. They need to allow us to make appointments and stop this nonsense of having to sign a clipboard early in the morning and then we just have to sit there for hours until whenever the doctor shows up or is ready to see us....We are Super Frustrated and Sad

Yes the staff never speaks and they are kind of rude as hell but Dr. Triana is a saint. Lets start by saying he completely remembered me when I use to take my golden retriever Barbie to Dr Kim in 5th street and Dr Triana worked with him - fast forward 12 years and I realized Dr Triana is the same Doctor whom worked with Doctor Kim. Barbie was suffering from a really bad ear infection and very itchy skin - I did wait hours but he gave me medicine for the infection cleaned Barbies ears and charged me pennies. I went back months later because Barbie was suffering from a really bad cough - again the wait was long but he said that Barbie had some type of infection on her lungs and gave me antibiotic. - I couldnt give Barbie the antibiotics because it was causing her to vomit - when I returned to dr Triana - he was prepared with a picture of a dog suffering with the same symptoms that Barbie was having. Tilted head, nausea, vomiting and some type of seizure . Dr Triana diagnosed her with geriatric vestibular disease. He gave me a syringe and some liquid for her ears and injected her with anti nausea medication - she seemed to have gotten better but then it went back to the same thing - I brought her back to him again and he took blood work and X-rays but couldnt find anything wrong and said that only left to do is an MRI. Which would cost me $2000. I asked if there was a way I could just finance and he said he will look into it - that day my dog died and i called the office freaking out and the rude front desk girl proceeded to tell me what it would cost to drop him off and the cost for cremation like zero bedside manners. I hung up the phone and dialed Dr Triana who immediately offered to pick up Barbie for me . He personally came to get Barbie and cremated her and insisted on making her his cost. Who does that?? What can I say. I have nothing bad to say about this Doctor.

This place would get negative 5 stars if I was allowed that option to rate it. People may not realize that this Vet "Clinic" also serves as the animal shelter for several Hudson County municipalities and kills A LOT of animals. Per the New Jersey Department of Health 2012 Animal Intake and Disposition Report, Summit Animal Clinic killed 41 or 35% of the dogs who had an outcome at this "shelter" in 2012. Additionally, they killed 202 cats or 56% of the cats who had an outcome at Summit Animal Clinic in 2012. These kill rates are more than 4 times higher than the nearby Liberty Humane Society (covering Jersey City and Hoboken). This place does not even have a web site, Petfinder or Facebook page to promote these animals. Additionally, when I went to visit the shelter during the hours it was supposed to be open on the sign posted outside the facility, I was told they would not be open until several hours later (after waiting on line for 15 minutes at the vet office). They would not even take me down to look at the animals when I was willing to save some of them. Frankly, I would NEVER go to any vet who takes money (animal control contracts pay shelters to to take these animals) to kill so many animals without making any real effort to find them good homes. Please keep in mind the place where you are taking your pet for vet care is also being used to kill so many other animals for money.

I arrived there at 5:30 pm to get my dog vaccinated and to ask why her hair was falling off so much. When I sat there one of the receptionist told me the Vet steped out for lunch and that the place would be closed for a week after today because he was going on vacation. Many people came and wait as I waited for hours (I have really good patience and dont mind waiting). He got back at frigging 8:30pm! He had a 3 hour lunch! What did he make reservations in the city? Anyways the wait I dont mind as long as it gets something accomplished. But once I was inside the little room he came in and said he couldnt do anaything. He said "He didnt want to waste my time." I should go to an animal hospital, get my dogs blood done before he could do anything "just in case". So yeah he told me to go home. After almost 4 hours. However, it was just obvious he just wanted to go home early and finish packing or preparing for his trip or w.e. I dont blame, we all deserve a vacation, but respect all your clients time as well. Pros *"Heard" his prices are lower than other vets. *??? Cons *Veterinarian is lazy *Veterinarian took a 3 hour lunch break. *Veterinarian did not apologize for his long absence and performed mediocre work after wards (other pet owners told me) *More animals in room than in Noahs ark Will not come again. Place used to be good but not anymore.

On Wednesday June 29, 2015, I called the clinic to let them know I had an emergency with my cat. My cat was breathing heavily and I was told to bring him in immediately. My husband took him to the clinic, and they told him he had to wait for his turn. Which is perfectly understandable but I had called the office and they knew that my cats condition critical. My husband constantly went up to the receptionist to ask about his turn and he was told that he had to wait. Unfortunately, my cat died in the waiting room. My husband waited 4 hrs for my cat to be seen by the doctor. Thats ridiculous! My husband then brought our dead cat back to me. I called them right away and their response over the phone was that my husband had never told them it was an emergency. Which is a LIE! I ask the receptionist for Dr. Carlos Triana cell phone to let him know what had happened and they refused to give it to me. I know that your business is very important, BUT IT SEEMS THAT IT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SAVING LIVES. I hope that this review helps others so that this doesnt happen again. Also, if the doctor was never informed of what happened, I hope he is made aware by my review.
