Simply the best of the best when it comes to animal care, genuine concern of your animal, solid advice, education, customer service, etc. I was recommended to Chatham Animal Hospital by a friend. I had a bulldog at the time, and unfortunately when she was 20 months old, she started having problems. Long story short, her kidneys did not form correctly due to genetics. We had to put her down a month later, and I can’t thank them enough for the way they treated me and educated me on exactly what was going on. It was a very tough time for me and they were there for me through thick and thin. I got prompt responses to emails and questions and was always able to get a quick appointment or answer when I needed it. I ended up getting another dog that was much more energetic and got plenty of advice and education on the best way to keep my dog healthy, active, mentally sound, got advice on dieting and food, shots, flea prevention, etc. I cant thank Dr. Bailey enough for his care for Ruxin. When I told him I let Ruxin follow me on my mountain bike in the woods for exercise, he explained to me the benefits of exercise, how long he could go for, pre and post feedings, temperature limits, things to watch out for, checking paws after runs, shots needed, etc. He also gave me some great trails to try, and now I take Ruxin with me all the time. Thanks again Dr. Bailey for everything youve done for Ruxin, we truly appreciate it. Through my experience with them, I find it very hard to believe anyone who questions their customer service, advice, care for animals, etc. I recently moved and still drive 45 minutes just to take my dog in for checkups. There are plenty of vets closer to me, but I really don’t think I could find another veterinarian office that could show me the genuine concern they have for Ruxin. I have learned so much from them about bonding with your animal and the best practices for training and obedience. They are constantly going above and beyond my expectations every time I visit. I tell them everything I do with my dog, and I have never felt rushed when in the exam room. I can ask a simple question, and Dr. Bailey may spend an extra five or ten minutes answering it making sure I understand the concepts he is explaining. The doctors and staff are good people period! I can’t thank them enough for everything they do. Keith

Ive never written a review before, but with the experience I had at Chatham Animal Hospital, I feel it would be wrong not to! I brought my cat, Keiko, in to get all of her shots and flea medication to prepare her to become an indoor/outdoor kitty after having been indoors only for the past 4 years. She has never gotten anything but a rabies shot, and I was very nervous about how her visit was going to go. Dr. Bailey and the assistant that took care of Keiko were awesome! Shes usually very skittish of new people, but they were so sweet and gentle with her. She loved them! Dr. Bailey took the time to talk to me about how to try to solve her problems with throwing up after she eats. He even went through a variety of different catfoods and his opinion of them. The best thing is that he didnt try to sell me something that I didnt need. We did discuss down the road, different, more pricey options I could browse if changing up her food didnt help her problems, but he didnt suggest right away that I should jump to an expensive prescription food. After I got Keiko home she was great! Her experience was so easy at the vet that she wasnt Even stressed when we got home. Unfortunately, about 20 minutes after we got home she got very sick and was throwing up bile everywhere. Apparently She was having a reaction to the vaccines. I called the staff and they told me to get Keiko back to the office. As soon as We got there they gave her benadryl and some steroids that fixed her right up. I was so worried about her and while I was waiting for Dr. Bailey to come back out with her I was thinking "this just turned into a very expensive day" Dr Bailey explained to me how rare it is for animals to have a reaction to vaccines, but every once in a while a case pops up. He explained what he did to fix her up and said that next time she should get a benadryl before the shots based on this experience. He was very apologetic and informed me that I would not be charged for bringing her back in. I was taken aback from this. This was truly one of the best experiences, despite Keiko having a reaction. I would recommend this place to any one who lives in the Cary/apex area. I have moved to Garner and can only hope that Ill find a vet that offers this type of service. Dr. Bailey and the staff at Chatham animal hospital are the best! Thank you all for making my and my cats experience so great!

I have been using Chatham Animal Hospital since 1996. The first pet I brought was a cat. Dr K was great with her even though she did not like the appointments. She ended up having some medical problems that caused her to pee everywhere but the litterbox, When my son started crawling, we had to give her up. They took her and found a home for her with a great owner. I still miss her to this day even though she must have died by now. Since then I have had two dogs. My first was a sheltie. He ended up having many medical problems. Dr K worked with me through all of it. The costs were reasonable. We boarded him many times at Chatham Animal Hospital. They were great with him. The technicians that take care of the dogs are excellent. The treat the boarded animals as if they were their own pets. My sheltie eventually died of cancer. It was very sudden and Dr Wrenn was excellent. She called and told me to come over if I wanted to see him, because he did not have long. Unfortunately, he died before we got there. When I got there she had been crying. They sent us a beautiful sympathy card and a cast of his paw print. My latest dog is a very bouncy boxer mix. She jumps on everyone and tries to lick their face. The doctors are great with her and the technicians love her. They are happy to take her even though she can be a handful. She was there last week and had her dental cleaning. Dr K called me personally to tell me how everything went. They usually only board animals who are already patients. All the animals have to have their vaccinations and flea/tick meds. If they let in a dog that doesnt it could possibly infect others if it is sick. We moved about 5 years ago. There were closer practices that I could have taken my pets to and a new animal hospital opened less than a mile from my house. I still take my pets to Chatham Animal Hospital.

Clean facilities and ok staff. I have dealt with a number of vets over the years in different states and this place is not the greatest. On my second visit I was told I had not been charged a $150 exam fee for one of my dogs, and sure enough when I grabbed the receipt from my car I had been charged. They also require a number of tests and recurring booster shots twice a year when most vets (actually all vets I have worked with) require them once a year. When I was taking my dog into the groomer for the second time I was told she needed one of these biannual booster shots, as I was not told this when I made the grooming appointment I asked if I could wait so both my dogs could get this done at the same time, the answer was no. So I either had to get the shot or she wasnt getting groomed. Waste of my time. This place likes to upcharge and add fees to your visit, if you take your furry friends here make sure to keep the receipts and records of your visit.
