Im so unimpressed with this practice. I took my 9month old daughter to see Dr. Morrell about a skin issue that kept reappearing. The first time we went we waited over an hour to finally see the doctor. For most of that time we were stuck in a small exam room just waiting. When the doctor (and his resident) finally appeared they spent maybe 7minutes with us. We went for a follow-up appointment 6 weeks later and things ran much smoother. I was told if the skin issue came back to just call the office, and they would simply call in a new antibiotic to a local pharmacy. When the skin issue did come back, I did as I was told and called on a Friday morning. I never received a response from the doctor or the office. I called twice and was told that there was a good chance that the Dr. (or his resident) wouldnt get to it. They were right. The prescription was never called in. I find this completely unacceptable. How much effort is it to call in a prescription? Despite this complaint, I would remiss if I did not comment on how great the office and nursing staff are. They were so great with my daughter and sympathized with our situation. But since I visited UNC Dermatology to see a doctor and not their wonderful staff, I can safely say that I will never go back.

I was referred to Chapel Hill and the UNC Dermatology & Skin Cancer Clinic in 1999 by my derm in Charlotte. A year later I was diagnosed with my 1st melanoma. In 2001 Dr. Nancy Thomas removed my 2nd melanoma and my 3rd was identified in 2009. I am very grateful to Dr. Thomas and the clinic she runs. In 1999 digital pictures were taken of me and again after my 2nd diagnosis. Dr. Thomas puts my cd into a lap top when I have my appointments. She looks for change as well as anything that look suspicious. This does take time but what she is doing is truly life saving. I drive 2.5 hours to Chapel Hill every year so that I can be seen by Dr. Thomas. Ive been going there for 16 years, and I hope to continue to be a patient of Dr. Thomas for as long as she is practicing.

They are not honest about their pricing. I asked both on the phone and when I arrived what the cost would be so I could compare my options. Both times they gave me a low cost. Then when I went to check out, the cost increased by a lot. When I complained someone got back to me - eventually. She said that someone else would get back to me later and sort it out. That never happened. Then I got the huge bill in the mail. Be VERY careful if you are on a low budget to make sure that you ask for the total price when you go in, or you may end up paying a lot more than you expect. I consider what they are doing very immoral - kind of preying on people with low budgets with a bait and switch.

I use to go to UNC Dermatology many years ago, and now I see why I left. This place is so far behind and Im am totally disappointed with my doctor and her resident or whatever the heck he is. Waste of time and money. Went to get an injection and a descent prescription and no relief from the injection or ointment...at all! I have gone to prior dermatologist and every injection seems to work in a few days. Charge a lot for consultation and I will never go back there. Go to Duke dermatology or if you are in Michigan, go to Grand Rapids Dermatology. The best! I would not recommend unc for anything, and I do mean anything.

Horrible! Id give it zero stars if it was possible. I called to make an appointment and the woman asked if it was urgent. When I explained a family member thought it was, she then informed me they were not taking new patients for 3 months and that (sarcastically) maybe said family member could call on my behalf every day to see if I could get in. I asked her why she would make that comment or even inquire when she had no intentions of helping me. Inappropriate, unhelpful, ignorant and RUDE!!!!

This is an excellent practice, they told me they did not have appointments till next week but checked to see if anything had been canceled. Was able to obtain an appointment right away staff was extremely courteous and Dr. Morrell was excellent, the rooms wore quite hygienic, she took her time made shore she understood my issue and did everything possible to make sure that my skin issue was resolved.

I made my appointment during lunch so I wouldnt have to take extra time off. I was in, out, and back at work within an hour! Dr. Jolly was friendly, professional, and to the point. Jan was also amazing. She made me feel welcome and comfortable. I highly recommend visiting the Hillsborough campus!

Very efficient, fast, and professional without sacrificing compassion and genuine concern. My son, Ethan 20mths, was in a very crabby mood from the 2hr drive. The resident was very patient with him. Dr. Morrell was informative and dealt with Ethan kindly. 5 stars!!
