I remember as a kid I used to wonder why I couldnt shoot lasers out of my eyes like cyclops. This made me feel like a failure at times, but I finally was able to ask Dr. Gifford-- who enthusiastically replied with the inner workings of the eye and why the feat was not possible...yet (Im sure apple will come up with something soon.) Regardless, the point being is that this is one of my favorite places to go as far as any health related appointment goes. The staff is uber-friendly and always helpful, almost too helpful like grandparents that cant stop feeding you cookies. Dr. Gifford loves what he does and always makes the eye appointment as brief as possible without jeopardizing quality. Even when I got my pupils dilated and wore my Ray Charles shades the staff checked up with me to make sure I arrived home safely. Talk about attention to detail. If anything else, I love the doctors positive attitude, patience and dedication to the work that he does. This has been my go-to eye place for the past five years, and as long as Im in NC or close enough, I will continue coming here. Needless to say, I would undoubtedly trust my eyeballs in the care of this practice. As with all reviews that are heartfelt, I must end with an unsavory pun: Keep your "eyes on the prize" Dr. Gifford and Associates, you guys have earned the publicity and I wish this practice continued success.

I remembered this doctor from over two years ago so I came back here get a new prescription. The person who checked me in was very dismissive and short, and I did not like her attitude at all. I didnt think she was being mean, it seemed like that was her personality, but I was taken aback. I almost said something to the lady who brought me back to check my eyes, but she was so nice and friendly, I let it go. Dr Gifford was exactly as I remembered: patient, informative, and friendly. As I was in the room, another receptionist popped her head in and was very careful in her conversation with the doctor to not break any HIPAA regulations when asking a question about another patient which I found very reassuring. She was also at the front desk when I left and was very friendly. Mostly a good visit, Ill be back.

My experience with Vision Care Associates has always been excellent. When I call for my annual appointment, they can take me within a week. Most of all, I appreciate that when they give me an appointment, they are on time. I do not have to wait! Vision Care Associates also offers a very thorough examination and accepts my hospitalization.
