This is a no-nonsense Lasik provider that includes best-in-class service and technology along with stellar customer service for delivering promised results. 100% satisfied. Staff: Dr. Mozayani and his staff were very friendly and very easy to talk to. They answered any question I had and were informative in what to expect during the procedure, what technology they use and why they use it and how they are different from the competitors. I had been to another bargain outlet for a free consultation but the experience was all about up-selling and pressure to commit to limited-time offers. No such thing here. Business model: There is only one price. Given the level of service and cutting edge technology used for the surgery, it is well worth it. Added bonus, there is no pressure to buy upgrades in technology or increases in cost based on your surgery needs because everything is included. Procedure: They initially map out your cornea a week before the surgery and again on the day of surgery to make sure there are no changes. You also start on some prescription drops for the eyes a few days before the surgery. On the day of surgery, they provide a mild sedative and a few eye drops as you get ready for the surgery in one of the examination rooms. Finally, they bring you in to the operating room with two lasers on two sides and one bed which swings from one to the other. As you lay down, they put a few more drops in the eye while they clamp your eye lids open and get the laser ready. Next, they put a little piece on your eye to hold it in place by suction. The next part is where you’ll feel the most discomfort. From what I could feel, the laser comes down and connects to the piece already sitting on your eye and creates a suction hold on it. The pressure from this reaches about 5/6 on a 10 point scale for discomfort. This first laser takes about 10 seconds to make the flap and this first step is over. Repeat for the other eye. Next, they swing you over to the next laser, where they fold over the flap that was just created. You keep looking at a target into the laser and within 10 seconds the surgery is over for each eye. Finally, Dr. Mozayani folds the flaps back in place and waters them down to make sure they are will suctioned into place. You get another sedative, some see through shields are taped over the eye and given some sunglasses. You are out the door within 10 minutes of finishing the procedure. Lastly, you need to be driven home by someone and advised to take a 3 hour nap to lessen experiencing any burning sensation in the eyes. My eyes started to burn a little on the way home and took a nap when I did get home. When I woke up, there was no burning anymore. Of course, I defer to Dr. Mozayani to give a more accurate description of the procedure. Results: Results have been amazing so far. It’s been 3 months now and I have 20/15 vision with both eyes now compared to not being able to read something more than a foot away. There were a few days in the beginning when the vision would fluctuate as the eye healed but this was expected. You need to keep it hydrated occasionally with artificial tears for about 2 months at least. I have some very mild issues with light sources at night, but based on conversation with Dr. Mozayani and from experiences other people have had who I know, this is expected to dissipate over the next few months. I’m very happy with the results.

I had vision correction on August 30th at Providence Eye & Laser in Charlotte, NC. I was absolutely terrified, my vision was pretty bad before, I couldn’t imagine that my vision would really be better- I am also a big baby. I was first eligible for Lasik a few years ago and after extensive research I choose Dr. Mozayeni at Providence Eye & Laser. My first consultation went great and I left confident that I would be using Providence. Unfortunately life intervened and I was not able to have my surgery at that time. Flash forward a half a decade and I was ready again to explore having my surgery. The impression the staff at Providence made was great enough that I immediately thought of them. His staff was, as always, helpful and they worked around my hectic schedule to get my surgery scheduled on a day that I could relax on. Since I balance being a Sales Manager with a writing career it meant a lot that, I was able to schedule a month out. I wanted to wait a few weeks before I reviewed so that the overwhelming amazingness, of being able to see didn’t clog my judgment. It was like I knew that my vision would be better but I didn’t really understand it till it was. The surgery: Dr. Mozayeni went over everything with me so that nothing shocked me before or after the process. The surgery itself was quick, painless, and only took about 10 minutes. Afterwards: They gave me a second "happy pill" to help me sleep. I was told that the first 2-4 hours would be extremely uncomfortable and that I should sleep through it. About the time I got to the car the numbing drops wore off and my eyes started to burn. I barely remember it though; I was asleep as soon as I sat down. The next thing I remember is waking up at 6pm (about 8 hours later) being able to see. That evening Dr. Mozayeni called me at 8pm to check up on me. That was amazing, not only did he check up after hours but he gave me time to rest. The next day: I was able to work (if I followed precautions) but first I had to have a follow-up. I cried when I read the 20/15 line and his staff reacted emotionally with me even though I felt ridiculous for breaking down- Im not much of a crier. Overall: my vision took a couple of weeks to really stabilize (which is normal) and things are getting better every day. Even the night halos are almost gone and that is something I dealt with before the surgery. The only side effect I had was it felt like something was in my right eye for a few days, which was just dryness and it went away quickly. My follow-up is in a week and I can’t wait to read that little chart. Providence Eye & Laser improved my life! The past 3 1/2 weeks have been amazing; I can exercise without my glasses falling off, I don’t have to worry about my glasses fogging up, I can see when I wake up in the middle of the night, and a million other small things that most people take for granted. I can’t complain about anything. I have passed their information on to a dozen people and will do my best to spread the word. Doctor, Staff, facilities, service, convenience, and cleanliness are 5 stars. A side note: 18 months no interest with care credit made it very affordable.

Dr. Mozeyeni is a rock star in the Lasik world. Plain and simple. It has been 6 months since my surgery and Ive waited this long to ensure I gave a proper review after healing. This isnt a cut-rate doctor looking to cut corners to make the extra dollar. Ive wanted Lasik for over 10 years waiting on the technology and process to be developed at a level I was compatible with. After many years of research, I decided it was time. I interviewed 5 doctors within 3 hours of home and went to 3 separate doctors for on-site consultation to find a doctor I was confident in. I had a surgery scheduled with another doctor prior to meeting with Dr. Mozeyeni. After my consultation, I immediately cancelled with the other doctor/facility. (who also claims to be a leader in the Lasik surgery in the Charlotte area). Dr. M has been a leader in Lasik surgery performing Lasik and other surgeries for several years; where other doctors rely on outdated hardware and tools that can easily be bought e-bay, Dr. M continuously invests in new technology to ensure his clients have the best possible experience and results. Dr. M. is also a certified cornea specialist (lasik is performed on the cornea), just another reason for his knowledge and expertise. His staff is top notch and was able to answer any questions I had including several in-depth technical questions. Im an IT professional and knowing that their staff ensures proper calibrations, servicing, and maintenance on their lasers and other tools was key for me. The personal care from Dr. M and Dr. Miller was excellent as well. In other places, you may not see or talk to your doctor until the morning of your surgery, which may seem like herding cattle. The doctors and staff take their time and provide the personal care which, as a patient, is key to feeling comfortable throughout the process. Remember, these are your eyes, not an ingrown toenail. They are very thorough and ensure that a candidate is capable of having the surgery with successful results, and not just looking to perform the surgery on any willing participant just to make money. Be prepared, if you dont make the cut, they may recommend you not have the surgery or provide alternatives to you. The expertise and experience: phenomenal! Prior to the surgery my vision was terrible (approximately 20/400). After: Im happy to say my left eye is an astounding 20/10 and right eye is 20/15. My family now jokes that Im "eagle eyes". Cons: Only the drive to/from the office from my home. It is a 45min 1-way drive, but well worth the time and gas money to ensure the job is done right. As always, any surgery is not guaranteed and there are drawbacks to any surgery, no matter who your surgeon or doctor is. However choosing a qualified doctor and following their recommendations can reduce risks and increase results.
