FIND ANOTHER PRACTICE!!! I have been a patient here for 10 years. Dr. Carson Rounds was my doctor. When Novant bought them out,Dr. Rounds transfered to Charlotte and I was given a replacement, not asked. Dr Thornton was my new doc,he is young and inexperienced compared to Dr Rounds. After 2 years of incomplete testing and not following through on numerous tests he had run with no results....example..one test he sent off and I heard nothing about it until months after at a physical. When I questioned Dr thornton,he said it was a bad test..no follow up,or offer to give back money for a bad test. After 2 yrs,I felt Dr. Thornton wasnt a good match for me and I called village office to request to see Dr. Webber, who was there since before novant. Not only did I never get to talk to webber, office staff pushed me off for three days saying they could only leave Webber a message. After me calling numerous times and pushing the question of can I see webber or not,I received a call from thornton asking me if anything he could help with. I replied we arent a match and I would like to see webber. Thornton then asked me why and I told him why...numerous times Im walking out without anything resolved...even misdiagnosing a known issue that cost me time from work. He disagreed with me then told me I should find another practice and hung up. I dont think Dr. Webber ever got my message. Dr. Thornton is the most unprofessional Dr. Ive ever met,and village doesnt care about the people they are supposed to help. I will be finding a provider that actually wants to help me instead of just taking my money. They are understaffed and overworked, its hard to even get them on phone regularly. Obvious drop in care overall since novant took over.

Fully incompetent in the billing and customer service departments. Cannot seem to record health insurance information, despite providing it on every visit and on paperwork and on their mychart website. Received multiple bills now (one erroneously paid) that incorrectly state that its the amount the health insurance wont cover, when in-fact, theyve never tried to bill the insurance company. Calling this local office results in a recorded message to call head office for billing. Calling head office results in placed ~12 in a queue and when you get to the head of the queue, the phone just rings and then youre dumped off the line. Calling the office again resulted in being incorrectly told the insurance wouldnt cover it again (is this a scam?) when they dont even have the insurance info recorded for some reason. Go elsewhere unless you want to risk being billed in full and given the run around. Im now trying to get reimbursed for bills I should never have paid, but wont be holding my breath. The sad thing is, on the last visit, I was prescribed a topical NSAID that made me quite ill, so Im incorrectly paying for a service that actually made me sicker.

This place is terribly expensive. I understand a new patient visit is more than a regular visit, but this was outrageous. I went in because I was feeling very dizzy and my blood pressure turned out to be elevated. The doctor gave me a prescription for the dizziness and had me come in two days later as a follow up. I thought that while I was there I could ask her a question about my asthma. Most expensive question Ive ever asked! She ordered a chest X-ray, which I did not have nor ask for....that turns out I got billed for. Im looking at about a $400+ bill for what should have been a simple visit that I didnt even get a diagnosis from. I am not pleased at all with how my bill was coded or handled. I will definitely not ever go back here and I will tell anyone that asks me about my bad experience so I can save them from being scammed like I was.

I have been going here for 10 years. I love my doctor and think he is the best. The administration side of this office could not be worse. Its so bad that at 33 years old Im posting my first online review of anything. They dont return calls or online appointment requests, seemingly as a policy. I think it might actually be against the rules for them to answer the phone. Just waited on hold for 10+ minutes even though I was the first caller in the queue only to get disconnected by their phone system because the clock struck 5:00pm. On top of that they are always booked out months in advance and they over-schedule their appointments to cram as many people into a day as possible, making it feel more like a medical assembly line than a personal visit. Its pretty disappointing because everyone is so nice.

Had to go in for required bloodwork, when I made the appointment I requested they do an additional blood test to rule out another possible factor contributing to my declining health. When I arrived there weeks later they had no record of that test being requested and when I asked the head nurse about it, she said shed take care of it and additional blood was drawn for this purpose. A week later, I had no results from it so I called them. Turns out, they never even did that test at all. Thats just the kind of lackluster commitment to care Ive come to expect from VFC and I will be looking for another primary care physician.

I have been a patient of Dr. Cefalus for many years. He is kind, understanding and intelligent. He speaks in terms that are understandable and makes recommendations that are doable. Ultimately I am responsible for my health however without guidance, knowledge and trust of your primary health care partner success is very difficult to achieve. The staff at the office are also wonderful to work with. One note be sure your insurance accepts the lab that is on site. Ask first if not seek an alternative lab.

Weve been coming to this practice for about 6 months now and Im so happy every time I walk out of here. We have never had problems with the office staff as some have stated. In fact, Ive called last minute twice in the last few months, and they got me in right away, no questions asked. And I am so so happy with Dr. Stabingas! We drive about a half hour to see her and pass many other offices along the way but she is worth it!

Been going to VFC for about 10 years and the quality of service is outstanding. Doctors here take the time to listen and understand you and your family history. Very thorugh and caring staff. I have seen Dr. Rounds (my primary care physican)and Dr. Cefalu. I highly recommend either of these gentlemen. Takes you back to my memories of REAL family physicans, but with modern technology.

Awesome practice! Couldnt be happier with Dr. Thornton and staff. Dr. Thornton has been caring and thorough every time with us and we like his attention to detail and bedside manner. He has called us personally on several occasions to follow-up and the quality was just outstanding. Would highly recommend him and Village Family Care for both kids and adults.

this is the best office for all my familys general medical needs. Dr Cefalu and staff are very caring, attentive, and helpful. Not only do they make me feel like his only patient at any given time, but he really takes the time to explain in terms easily understood what is going on with any given illness. I can not say enough about him
