Would give less than one star if possible. This office is only concerned about bottom line, not the well being of patients or potential patients. Dont waste your time with them their staff is not helpful at all. My wife and I were awarded custody of my her niece and the niece had Medicaid. My wife immediately called for termination of Medicaid and I added her to my insurance through my employer. Called them to set up a physical immediately due to other situations and they said that they needed proof of insurance. I worked with my employer and insurance broker to get them proof that day. They received proof and then required a release of medical records. No biggie, went gave them the release and asked them if they needed custody papers they said no, but then said they couldnt see her because she was a medicaid patient. I explained the situation and they had received the call from my insurance broker but they still refused to set up an appointment. They stated that they were not accepting Medicaid patients. They said they would need proof of termination but I could bring that back in later and theyd schedule an appointment as soon as I got that I asked if I could go ahead and do all the paperwork they said yes I asked if I needed to give them a copy of custody papers they said no. So I left feeling a bit let down because I wanted to get her in as soon as possible, due to my wife taking FMLA leave and it being dependent on her niece getting a checkup. After I left I got the idea that I could just pay cash I called back and I then offered to pay for the visit in CASH but they would not accept that either their staff stating since they didnt have custody papers and proof of termination. Which was different to what they said in the office. It just doesnt make sense to me that a business would not accept cash. They also said it would take up to 2 weeks to get proof of termination by which time my wifes FMLA leave wouldve run out. They could never clearly explain to my why they refused to take a termed medicaid patient, or why they refused to accept cash. The doctors are probably really nice but in my estimation its not worth the hassle of dealing with their staff.

If I could give this office 10 stars I would. I have been so impressed with the office staff. The scheduling ladies are so helpful. We had a hard time getting all of our records from previous offices for vaccines. Paulina worked with me and helped me every step of the way. She was friendly, courteous, quick in responses and very professional. That in itself impressed me because you cannot find many friendly office staff at medical offices. It was a breath of fresh air!! When I went in this morning to get the vaccines from the nurse, I was seen quickly and the staff again was friendly, welcoming and professional. The nurse called us back, she explained in detail what the children needed, made sure I was completely comfortable with the number of shots given today and the side effects they may experience. I had had my youngest two in the office with me so I was short of a comforting parent today. After the nurse gave my son his shots, she turned to my little girl that was still upset from her shots and cradled her in her arms and comforted her!! It was so beautiful it almost made me cry. I have been so pleased with my whole experience with Carolina Pediatrics in Hampstead. Thank you all so much for your help!! I am so glad to have found your office.

I called their office today to schedule an appointment for my son. He is 21 mos old & I feel that he most likely has an ear infection. When I called, because I had mentioned that he was a patient of another office, but their phones were down, & my son needed to be seen and that their office had seen him during a weekend visit, the person I spoke with told me that they refused to see him. I questioned this response with, "So you are just turning him away?"... She again, told me that their office only treated him before because they were the weekend office on call. I then asked if she could give me any suggestions to help my son or where to go, and she told me "no". NOT ONCE did she ask me what was wrong, if it was serious, did he need immediate attention, NOTHING! I thought this was a poor example of customer service, much less having no sympathy for a childs wellfare. My son was no more than a name on a folder rather than a 2 yr old boy in pain! What if I had been searching for a new Pediatrics Office... would I be turned down just because we had previously gone elsewhere??? So, here I sat, with a sick boy in pain & being refused service!!!

Dr. Mary Forehand at the Wilmington office absolutely makes this practice. Simply put, she is the best pediatrician Ive seen. Ever. I have had my children with her for around 11 years now (2015) and have found Dr. Forehand consistently gentle, engaged, knowledgeable, practical, and kind. Barring emergencies, my children see her exclusively because of her trustworthiness, wisdom, and demeanor. The reception and nurses station generally operate in a timely fashion and have always worked us in for any emergency issues. The financial/billing department could use improved customer relations including call back times, tone, and flexibility, but the practice is otherwise solid.

HORRIBLE PLACE-When I called the office this morning because my 4 yr old had a fever of 104.7 & asked for an appointment the first question was what type of insurance do you have!!! What!! I said medicaid & she put me on hold & then said they are not accepting medicaid patients at this time. Can you believe that they rejected a child for their insurance. I will tell everyone I know. I am now going to cape fear peds...at least they can see her in an hour. I am outraged with a pediatrician that is more concerned about their paycheck than the care of an innocent child!!!

We have lived here for only a few months and have never had an issue getting a same day sick appt for any of our 3 children. Office staff is helpful and the doctors have been great! I love that it is close to my house as well because there is no need to drag sick kiddos all over town. I highly recommend them for fast and friendly visits even if its just routine :)

I recently took my daughter to the Hampstead office and she was seen by the nurse practitioner Cindy. This was the best doctor visit experience I have ever had. She was so thorough and caring. They followed up twice with us after we left the office over the next few days. The office in general is very friendly and very good at calling back ASAP.
