I have gone to Akron City Hospital ever since I was 15yrs old and Ill be 40 next yr. I used to swear by this Hospital, I even chose to give birth to all 3 of my children there. Now I wouldnt even step foot on the property to save my own life. The doctors there botched my emergency hip surgery from a motorcycle accident 5yrs ago. Taking away 1 1/2 inches in height from my left leg. Then in April of this yr, because of the difference in height w/ both legs and the constant strain it caused, I shattered my femur from right below where my metal hardware stops (about 5/6 inches above my knee cap) to below my knee (about 2/3 inches). When I went to the emergency room ( which was purely out of habit) they were extremely rude and disrespectful. Not one single staff member knew their heads from a whole in the ground. When I mentioned something to one of the Dr.s about how Ive heard rumors on how the hospital has gone completely down hill within the last few yrs. I also told him how I agreed with all the rumors and that I couldnt figure out if it was the whole hospital in general or just the staff that was the cause of everything. He then got extremely rude, again, and made some snide comment. Mind you I arrived in the ambulance around 10:30-11:00 am and wasnt released til 12:00-12:30am. I couldnt even tell you how many different Dr.s, Interns, and Nurses that came in and out of my room trying to figure out and decide what needed to be done about my shattered femur. They finally decided around 6:00-6:30pm to put me under a local anesthetic to put my whole entire leg in a botched up cast. My cast was so tight around my ankle, that I couldnt even to feel my toes. It went all the way up to below my butt cheek, making it almost impossible to use the toilet. The top half of the cast was so loose that I could put my arm (from finger tips to elbow) inside the top of my cast to where I could put my hand around and below my knee cap. It defeated the whole purpose of securing my shattered femur (knee).
