Went to ER by Ambulance, had no one to take me as i am from out of state. Pain was the worst i have ever had went from 5- 6 in the beginning then to off the chart could sit for a few minutes then it would get really bad when i tried to move told nurses at hospital that pain was 8-9 most of the time then got really bad they logged it as moderate pain , gave them all my pills and list of what they were and how often i take them. Dr came over about a half hour after waiting in hallway asked a few question ordered x-rays and bloodwork never listened to heart or lungs ( one of my problems other than back was bronchitis) after test nurses gave me morphine, muscle relaxer and an antibiotic , pain only got worse then about an hour and a half nurse gave me another shot or tremidor for pain since the morphine did not do anything told me syaticia and bronchitis gave me scripts and told me to go home ( never saw or talked to the doctor again) and take it easy for three to four days, also told me to continue all meds when I left the hospital blood pressure was 95 over 59 I take to blood pressure pills before bed . What would have happened if i had taken them that night as told to with my pressure being low??? It has been over a week and a half and I am home but still in pain cant wait to see my regular Doctor. Would not send a dog to this hospital the only person that seemed to care was the nurse. Still blows my mind that they wrote moderate pain. Ten years ago broke my wrist in two places with a spiral fracture to the elbow and did not go to the hospital till a day and a half later it did not hurt like i thought a break would so I thought it was a sprain, then i hit it on the banister playing with the kids, Dr said that when i hit it on the banister i set it they put a cast on it and said if it hurts take an aspirin as you have a very high tolerance to pain . Eight hours in the ER Hallway and only a nurse to care for me.

I would have given no stars but it wasnt an option. I brought my wife here a couple months ago for severe abdominal pain. They got her in very fast and then proceeded to get get her out just as fast. They did not run one test on her even though she was very specific about what the pain was as far as telling them she thought it was her gallbladder. They did take a urine sample and maybe blood, told her they did not find anything and blamed it on her fibro, then threw 5 scripts at her and cycled her out like they were trying to get fast turnover. The pain persisted and a couple weeks ago became debilitating. I took her to Deland this time and they had an ultrasound tech waiting in the room for us when we got back there. They took her from the ultrasound directly to a CT scan and another test before concluding that her gallbladder was infected and needed removed immediately. PLEASE.... if you really need care, do yourself a favor and drive the extra 20-30 minutes to Deland and get real health care. Stay away from Fish Memorial at all cost. Now they have the nerve to demand payment for services when they literally did NOTHING. They are not going to receive payment, but will receive a call from our lawyer.

Went to the ER. I told them, to nurses later when I received a room, to the doctor. I think I was having a reaction to my new meds. my blood pressure was 190, light headed, sick stomach, very bad headache, severe mussel aches, my left chest to my back mussels were hurting, could not sleep, etc they keep treating me like i was having a heart attack. The gave me nitro patches, heart monitor, tons of blood test, etc. They starved me for 35 hours. Did not eat or drink. I also did not have my reg. daily meds for 3 days. But they could give me stool softeners, and baby asprins. They were going to keep me another night. I told them I was leaving and checked myself out. The nurses also smudge a hourly list that they saw you very badly. They would catch up on it hours later, and complete all the hours missed. Better care would be given to my dogs at a vet.

Haha, this place has more than 1 star?? I dont understand how, Ive never met anyone, especially in the Deltona or Orange City area, that has had any better of an experience than me ---> terribleeeee. When I say I havent met anyone, I mean no family, no friends, no acquaintances, heck I even know many first-responders and they themselves would not go to nor would recommend family or friends or even homeless people to this hospital. Most people just drive over the Bridge and head to another one even if theyre in a dire emergency. The going reputation is that if you go to Fish Memorial Hospital, for anything that is, you will probably die. Not to say that the staff does not do their best, I know employees there personally that work very hard, but maybe they lack resources from upper management or something. I say dont risk it use another hospital.

I went to the hospital on Friday night as I was feeling pain in my left chest and nurse on the phone advised me to go to the hospital. The guy who treated me first was very nice, he did some quick test to figure out if I am in any danger of getting heart atttack and then he asked me to wait in the emergency waiting room. I guess as my case was not serious therefore I have to wait in the waiting room for 4-5 HOURS but still they could have let me go if my case was not serious. The only complain I have is that they took a lot of time to treat me though I wanted to go back to home if I was not in the emergency. Everything else was ok and the doctor Paul Jarczyk who saw me was good. I agreed with Donna comments that there was a nurse there Karen who doesnt look like that she like her job. - Muhammad A. This hospital needs to hire nurses whom can act like they like there job, this was the worst feeling I ever had in a hospital, next time in a case of emergency Ill take the extra miles to Sanfords hospital, the moment I walked in triage at 5:45pm on 5/15/08 the faces was as straight or you can say cold with an angry look at that moment I had wish Ive gone to Sanfords, I could have been part of the wall the nurses ed-nor my question as if I was not there. I work in a hospital in Orlando and Im proud to work in my hospital, customer service is the number one inportants! patients needs to feel care for...after all that is our business, we have been rate #1 in patient care service, our patient leave feeling care for. I dont work at the Sanford hospital but I can say the patient care is better by miles!!!!!!
