Have been going to outside physician for quite some time, which was covered on our insurance. After the naval hospital wasnt getting enough patients, they decided to change the insurance plans of veterans so that they could have more patients. This hospital is a 40 minute drive from where I used to live and is now a 2 hour drive. I wait 30 minutes on hold everytime I try to make an appointment while being hung up on several times. After making the appointment and making the trek there, I wait another hour to be seen. After the 15 minutes I spend with the doctor in which they said my foot was bruised, not broken and was prescribed pain medication, I have to wait in a 2 hour pharmacy line. This is not unusual since they have an enlarged amount of patients with the same number of staff. I spent 3-4 hours in total trying to be seen and getting my medication, to only find out from another doctor that my foot was in fact broken. He looked at some x-rays for an unrelated case and discovered the break. He found it instantly. The staff is irritable, the doctors dont want to be there, the lines are ridiculous and the quality of care is absurd. I hope they change this to where I can be seen without driving 2 hours to be seen.

I went through a really hard experience at Jacksonville hospital. I was scared to even go to my appointment worrying the doctor might fight me on what I wanted to do with my body moving forward and scared for my husband as I was in surgery. I cannot say thank you enough to the staff. Thank you to the beautiful red headed HM who made me laugh with her witty personality. Thank you for sending chaps he was so great. Thank you to my doctor supporting my choice AND getting me into surgery the same day. Thank you to everyone who helped with my surgery and comforted my husband while he anxiously waiting on me. And thank you so much to the nurse that held me when I woke up in tears I needed that so much I needed someone to just hold me and you did just that. Ive never had a good experience at Mayport but nas Jax staff you were WONDERFUL. Thanks for the follow up call today to see how Im doing after surgery. Thanks for genuinely caring about your patients well being and their families well being.

Having retired and served my country for a little over 20 years in the medical field... working anywhere from the ER to both inpatient and outpatient...the experience I had with my wife at NAS JAX ER was truly disappointing and insane. The wait time just to be triaged was EXTREMELY absurd and the triage nurse was beyond condescending. Even after informing her that my wife is a nurse and I also have a medical background, there was no need to speak to us in such manner and with a scowl on her face. If you dont like your job, stay home...period. Dont go to work (especially, caring for sick patients) with a piss poor attitude. Patients do not deserve to deal with such attitude and treatment...especially when theyre sick. Theres no way my wife or any patient should endure such treatment. Throughout my 20 year tenure, Ive worked at several MEDDACs and MEDCENs all over the world. NEVER have I experienced such poor service with my family. This facility MUST do better!

I have had plenty of bad expriences at the Naval Hospital Jax. From my son been diagnosed with allergies and asma when he really had a bleeding disorder to getting medicines that do not for the illness, but the treatment from 2/8/17 by Dr. Antonio and staff was the worst. Not only I had to wait 90 min after the appointment time for her to come see my son, she spent 5 min with him and prescribed an over the counter medicine. I spent the whole night watching over my son with a fever of 102 and had to take him to an urgent care clinic today. The Dr at the clinic performed the tests and prescribed antibiotics. I suggest patients either go to the Urgent care Clinic than seen Dr Antonio.

They saved my life. What else can I say. I went in with what I thought was a really bad cold and turned out to be pneumonia. But not a "regular" type, so while I was in a coma for the first week as it was touch and go; the doctors worked tirelessly to find out what agent was causing it. After a week they discovered it was a virus that normally lives in the ears and causes ear infections in children. They were able to start appropriate treatment and luckily after another two weeks in coma and I was able to breathe on my own...I was awakened much to the joy of my family. So, yes. 5 Stars.

I had my first child at this hospital. The labor and delivery unit was amazing. The doctors and nurses were some of the nicest people I have met and very attentive to your every need. The maternity ward was pretty great as well, you get your own large room with a personal bathroom and shower. It was very comfortable and the nurses were nice but they could have been more attentive and helpful (especially the night crew). The pharmacy is always packed and takes forever to get anything. But overall this is an awesome hospital.

I was born here on February 27, 1968, delivered by Dr Carlson. My mother and one other woman were treated horribly. Both had cesarean sections and were put into wheelchairs immediately after with nothing but a gown thrown over them and wheeled down the hallway to a room. My mother said she was in and out of consciousness with the gown falling off of her and everyone staring, completely barbaric treatment. I can see from the recent reviews that this hospital has not improved over the years.

I was seen at the E.R. this morning for an acute problem and had absolutely a 5 star team. Everyone from the nursing team, to the wonderful HMs who took great care of me to the most attentive EMD M.D. I have encountered. I was wheeled back almost immediately from when I handed them my ID card and taken care of with the upmkst compassion. Great team!!!!!! Thank you again NH JAX for the wonderful service!

Worst experience of my life. Brought my wife in with really bad back pain. She could barely walk, we had to wait over an hour to get a room. Another hour to be seen, all while my wife was in tears from the pain. The LTJG "charge nurse" didnt do anything to help either, very rude. I thought the ER was supposed to help you, not leave you there while youre in pain. Really mad and disappointed in this.

In ER, It would be nice to have a curtain instead of being right in the open in front of everyone. ER, Everything moves in slow motion. ER, WiFi is just wishful thinking. ER Doctors are pretty good. ER, No cell phone reception. ER, Inexplicable long wait to be discharged. Pharmacy, no cell service and no WiFi.

Dr Vance is nothing short of amazing! Placed a screw in my scaphoid and could not have went any better! Outstanding service from all of the staff! The positive attitudes I witnessed over the last few weeks reflects highly on the leadership! Thank you all from my family to yours!
