DONT EVER GO HERE!!! Go ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE!! THEY PROFILE PATIENTS THAT ARE IN LEGITIMATE PAIN AND TREAT THEM AS DRUG ADDICTS!!!! First off this place is extremely unprofessional as well as a major joke. Ive been here multiple times in the past with an inaccurate diagnosis, sending me to Columbus, literally telling me " wow that looks painful but we cant do anything"(but they can charge me $400 and always wasted time. But this visit to the emergency room topped it all. My fiancé has had a tremendous time with dental issues in her past. Over the past few days it has become extremely painful to the point where she cant sleep, eat and even do her job efficiently. Our dentist office has been closed and she had no way of finding any relief except for the e.r. Knowing our bad history with this place I knew going to Mary Rutan was going to be a fuss(and it was). We arrive and she is taken back almost immediately which was suprising. After checking her vitals and making sure to get insurance info (of course) they finally asked what she was there for. The way those "professionals"reared after telling them all of the pain she has been endouring is what truly shocked me. After they found out she was there for severe tooth pain there was an immediate change in how they were taking to both of us. They looked at us like we were criminals or something. On top of being just straight up uninterested in anything she had to say they had no intention of actually examining her either. Just regarding all of it not that bad without even one look!!After that they had no interest in what my near tears fiancé had to say. They treated her like she was lying about all of her pain. Then I had a high suspension that they thought we were DRUG ADDICTS AND NOT A PATIENT IN NEED OF MEDICAL ASSISTANTCE. They briskly cycled through all of the nurses giving us that same look and talking down to us in such a way that was downright rude. As well as one of the nurses literally throwing their trash on the counter and just waking away. After about 45 minutes of this they told her that there was nothing they could do except for over the counter Tylenol and then telling us we need a dentist. No duh!! After this experience I am never going back to this joke of a hospital!!! Thank you for a 150 copay for Tylenol and to be profiled as DRUG ADDICTS!!!! If your actually wanting to be treated like a normal person; to not be profiled and actually treated dont go here! Even in serious circumstances I never plan to go to or pay one more nickel to a place that just assumes your a drug addict instead of a citizen in an emergency situation. No respect, no interest in actually helping. Just a infuriating, belittling, and costly waste of time!!!

The worst hospital on the face of this planet. In all my years they have never improved anything other that the LOOK OF THE BUILDING. They misdiagnose patients, keep patients waiting, i have witness them make someone in the middle of a heart attack walk to the ambulance and once at the hospital left waiting in a room for over an hour without a doctor stepping in once. My own personal experience, I almost died from their misdiagnoses. Now they have been on a kick to sue patients for medical expenses in my opinion they did not earn. To the point that they are causing MUCH hardship on the community, because their demands of what they expect to be a payment plan is well beyond what a normal person can pay them. This has gone on with them time after time. This hospital is a financial instution. They see their sole responsibility is suing their patients. I think its HIGH time the patients start suing the hospital back for the lack of care and mistakes. I WILL NEVER COME TO THIS HOSPITAL EXPECIALLY IF I WAS DYING!!!

Riverside sent me to Bellefontaine for a followup, but the doctor has an office in Columbus (oops?). Where they discover that I the pain is completely unrelated to the hole they sutured up in the ED (I could have told them that), and the only reduction in pain I have been experiencing is from the percocet and because the muscles that have been spasming from the injury have become acclimated to the workout... I have been out of percocet for 3 days, and they forgot to call in the Rx for the nitroglycerin (non-narcotic), and their office closed in the 1 1/2 hours between the time they finally saw me (1 hour late), and the time it took me to get to the pharmacy in my neighborhood... I did not screw up, why do I have to stay up all night with the pain? My doctors office has a 24 hour on-call who can call a prescription when they make an epic f-up like this, why doesnt Mary Rutan General Surgery???

Mary Rutan Hospital is a JOKE!!!! I went to the ER for severe belly & back pain. Waited over an hour then had to use the restroom. After using the restroom, I waited even longer then decided to ask how much longer it would be & was told they called me 25-30 mins ago ( when I was in the bathroom). I was told I would have to sign in again because they erased me when I didnt answer. I asked why they didnt check the bathroom since I was alone & the triage nurse said she wasnt a babysitter. Pretty ticked, I told her she was ridiculous & left. I went straight to Wilson in Sidney. These nurses took me back right away & started running tests, where it was discovered that I had blood in my abdomen. By that evening, I was in emergency surgery to remove 12oz of blood. The doctors & nurses at Wilson saved my life. I couldve died waiting for the pathetic ER personnel at Mary Rutan to even check me out.

I cant speak for inpatient care but my experience as well as those of friends and family in dealing with the hospitals ER is sub par to say the least. It is not uncommon to wait in excess of three hours for a bed or to be seen. I am unsure of the hospitals policy in deeming what is considered a priority case in the ER but in a recent incident my 74 year old anemic grandmother whom is battling cancer with on going chemotherapy treatments went to the ER after a fall which injured her arm and head. It was almost four hours before she was examined and only after a prompting call from her Orthopedic Surgeon whom my family contacted directly. Perhaps there were more pressing cases? I dont know. I do know my personal opinion is biased but without a thorough explanation from the hospital I am left feeling that the quality of care is just unacceptable.

Took my best friend to the hospital, since shes 11 weeks pregnant and told them she was 11 weeks pregnant, told her shes only 8 and then she asked how did she know she was pregnant? Uh , from a pregnancy test? Was told she wasnt pregnant repeatedly when she was saying she was, yelled at her for peeing in a cup all the way! Shes pregnant what else do you want her to do? They were also rude because as shes waiting for her tests to come back, they were sitting there eating their lunch . they wouldnt give her a ultrasound until after shes 12 weeks cause you cant see anything but in reality its 5-6 weeks. Also, they tried telling her how she got pregnant... Yeah no. That hospital is awful and so is everyone else there.
