HORRIBLE - My 9 month old kitten got clipped by a car. We took him to Gradys and was informed that he had broken his back left femur. And then proceeded to quote prices on fixing the leg or amputation. My finances have been stretched because Id been laid off a few months before. So the vet at Gradys referred us to Covedale, saying they might have lower prices and informing us that she favored Covedale over other places around. We then took our little guy to Covedale for a surgical consult. We were told that they did NOT do the type of surgery to save his leg but did do amputation. They called somewhere else (who knows where) and got an estimate of a quote higher than Grady had given us. They gave us some pain medicine for him as what we had from Gradys was almost used up and told us to take a couple days to think about if we wanted them to amputate. I continued making phone calls and found a vet in Batavia (Clough Pike) that would accept payments and would do the surgery to SAVE his leg for the price that wed been quoted at Covedale to amputate. Obviously we went with Dr David Fox on Clough Pike. He performed the surgery on Friday, it is now Monday. He kept the medication the same as what Covedale put my kitty on. Because I was nearly out of medication for my kitty, I called Covedale to see if we could purchase more medication from them. I was told "If the animal had surgery, he shouldnt be in any pain." Excuse me, so if I made an incision in your skin, pulled it apart, placed a pin in your bone to hold it together and then stapled you back together, you wouldnt need pain meds 3 days later? I called Clough Pike who said theyd call Covedale to find out why they wouldnt give us the meds. After I received the call saying they had spoken with Covedale and everything should be taken care of, I called Covedale who denied ever getting a call from Clough Pike. Another round of calls took place, in which I offered to come pick the meds up at their office to which they told us not to, they would call it into Kroger. I then get a phone call from Kroger asking for more information on my kitty, verifying my address, etc. She says shell get a price for me and call back. When she called back she gave me the price, asked if it was less than Covedale (yes by 1/2) and then said "They told me you were having issues paying for the meds." to which my response was "No, they didnt want to give them to me." In my opinion, they were salty because we took him elsewhere to do a surgery that they DONT EVEN DO.

I really cant say enough good things about this pet hospital. Took our gerbils to them a year or so ago and now have a 5 month old cat, Tyler. He was an animal shelter cat who had worms and apparently contracted ringworm from there. We have taken him twice now because what was originally thought as a bacterial infection - which cleared up enough with the ointment to reveal ringworm - we had to switch medicines to swabs. We have now met Dr. Melinda and Dr. Bill and they are so great, so thorough, so sweet and just kind, caring people. My cat was very at ease and handled the visit great. The front desk staff was pleasant over the phone to make the apt and when we were checking out. I even had my mom from No. Ky taking my brothers cat there last year. They are so reasonably priced and just great!

I bring my pets here for maintenance care only ! Shots and such they do run really good prices on especially on clinic night. However, the diagnosis they have given me have been wrong so many times I no longer take my pets here for serious issues. They missed that my rescue dog had mange 3 times over a six month period, diagnosing her with allergies. Which resulted in all of our dogs getting it. Then missed that the same dog had cancer when I brought her in twice with a bleeding issue. One of my other dogs had a lump and they did a draw and said that they thought it was cancer. After surgery, it turned out to just be fat. How do you look under a microscope and see cancer cells not fat cells-please. All in all routine maintenance is good, diagnosis I recommend Grady on Red Bank .

Covedale Pet Hospital cared for our beagle-labrador mix through her entire life, always with excellent service, care and courtesy. But my wife and I cant say enough about their consideration and helpfulness when our dog reached a final crisis. Dr. Ketring explained our dogs illness very clearly and sensitively. She explained our options honestly. Everyone gave us plenty of time to think about what we needed to do. When we reached the hard decision that it was time to end our pets suffering, they offered us every support that we could ask for. These are people who really love our pets and who know that we love them too.

FANTASTIC, excellent STAFF & VETS! 5 stars arent enough!! We took our puppy in Tues to be neutered, in at 8am, picked Teddie up @2pm. Dr.Obert performed Laser surgey on Teddie, very tiny incision, almost hard to find. We were told he would be wanting to lay around & rest for few days, well Teddie was his usual self by 6pm, running, jumping, playing with Grandkids everything they said he shouldnt do. Can only believe this was from doing Laser surgey!! KEEP UP the excellent work CPH and THANKS!!

We have been taking or cat, Bella, to Dr. Obert since she was a kitten about 10 years ago! He is absolutely the BEST, we wouldnt switch for anything! Dr. Obert is so not only knowledgable; he is also patient and compassionate. No matter how busy he always takes time to explain things and ease our fears no matter how big or small! The entire staff are pleasant, patient and well trained! They treat Bella and us like family; it doesnt get better than that!

Good, friendly doctor who actually LISTENED to us. The doctor was just as good with our elderly old cat as he was with our young dog. Finding a good cat vet is surprisingly difficult. Good value compared to other local places - very reasonable appointment rates. Great, attentive front counter staff who didnt make us wait for an hour to check out, even more rare than a cat-loving vet! Solid A.

I have 3 dogs that I take here and this is the best vets office Ive been to. The front desk staff is friendly and the doctors are so caring and take time to get down on the dogs level and pet and talk to them before starting the exam.

I love this vet. Even after moving across the river, I make the trip back over to return where I know my pets get excellent care from a very caring staff. They have taken great care of my fur babies for more than a decade.

My dog MiLee and I loved it here. The coworkers treated all the pets as if they were their own. They were really friendly to me too. Were new to the neighborhood and happy we found our new vet!
