I chose Drake for my Mother after a recent surgery for Post Acute Rehab. While the Rehab itself was FINE the rest leaves much to be desired. The level of professionalism is virturally non-existent. Her LPNs could barely speak clear English and for a Senior this is difficult. The rooms were over-crowded with unecessary wheelchairs and visitor chairs, the portable toilet was situation right in front of the door for the world to see, the food was terrible, the caretakers were forgetfull, had a lack of compassion, zero bed side manner, not to mention ver little if any follow-thru on doctor appoinments, rehab times etc...Also, I want to state that the Case Managers on 2N are just as UNprofessional and the Silled Nurses AKA CNA/LPNs. My Mother went from a very high level of care (RNs) to virtually nothing!!! Its a true shame that this is just a JOB for some while others take it to a differnt level, I guess thats the difference in 2 year degrees and 4 year degrees??? Our goal is to have her realeased from there tomorrow but I will need to "wait" for a reutrn call from the Social Worker...wonder how long this will take???

I went to UC Drake center for wheelchair evaluation . He did not do all the evaluation my Dr order. The evaluation should last 90 min. He only did it 10 min. When my doctor look it up on this computer it did not show me been their. My doctor order me to get wheelchair evaluation and that Jim was only one can do it. He stated the other PT person said i was getting better and said he is going to cancel my appointments. Other PT person at Drake center was a pool therapy that only check my neck and right arm. She stated the my neck ROM is getting little better and till have weakness in the right arm. I think Jim dont want me to get a scooter and he been change my appointments to see him. I Dr want my to get a scooter because im have hard time walking. If you have to go to UC Drake Center for therapy i would go to the one that at Hoxworth. They are very nice people.

My sister was a resident there for almost 4 years, the intent of her stay was to rehab, it was just the opposite, she went down hill so fast it was incredible. The staff on the second floor is beyond unprofessional. My sister had constant arguments with the staff and often complained about items from her room coming up missing. They lost important paperwork of hers, and then when I went to pickup her last belongings , the 3rd floor handed her items over with no problems, they had everything bagged up and outside waiting for me. The 2nd floor gave me a extremely hard getting her last belongs even though they were well aware of who I was. In my opinion, stay away from this place, especially the second floor!

if i could give less stars i would. There are a few staff here that are great but for the most part they are rude. You can never find help and they leave patients sitting in there own feces for a very long time. They have gotten rude with my patent inn numerous occasions. The food is awful. Im sure i will get the same "Im sorry please contact patient blah blah blah" as every one else. It does no good. They need to have people come in under cover and see what REALLY goes on. Its deplorable. It really NEEDS to be shut down sad to say but true

If you have loved ones who need to go to a nursing home or a rehabilitation center please do not send them to drake. My grandmother was admitted here for rehabilitation. The nurses and cnas treated her awful! We would come visit they would be so rude to visitors, they have no respect at all for anyone. When asked to help her they would huff and puff in our faces. when you placed the call light on, all of a sudden everyone would disappear. I would never recommend this place to anyone!!!!

Ive had 2 family members there and the nurses and other staff took really great care of them. My grandmother on my Dads side passed on there and my great grandfather on my Moms side was taken care of for about a month. My great grandfather passed on earlier this year and I know that he had an exallent experience there and was taken care of everyday by the nurses and pharmacists that work for my mom down in the pharmacy.

The physical therapy S U C K S ! The people there go out of their way to hurt you instead of helping you.After coming out of a bad crash. I thought they would help me, but their words hurt just as equally or worse. I will never ask for any kind of assistance from drake physical therapy again! The one worker is going to cause your reputation to be lowered.

This places customer service is terrible. I have been hung up 4 times when I was calling in regards to my dads care. When I explained this to the person when I called back I got no explanation or apology. They really could care less about their clients and their family.

I found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Both Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists were very friendly and encouraging as we worked together to get me back to independence. I would recommend Healthsouth to anyone who need inpatient rehab.

HI I am an established patient and the area around my chronic open wound is oddly discolored. I m looking at the schedule and we have a few appointments available in late April, just call this other number and choose option 2 to schedule an appointment.
