If I could give zero stars I would. This place does not show any compassion or concern for the well being of patients. They treat you like a number, take your money, and kick you out. No help in referrals yet they call themselves a top hospital for psychiatry. They are absolutely contributing to the drug crisis here in OH and they are absolutely over prescribing HARD CORE BENZOS for LONG TERM USE. In May of 2015, I went in because I was suffering from panic attacks induced by stress (I was moving away from home for the first time) and my Seroquel, where every time I would take my Seroquel I would have an instant panic attack. They gave me Ativan one day and that did not work. The next day they gave me something else which also did not work. The third and last day they gave me Klonopin and that helped. The problem is that LYNETTE BALTAS a physician assistant never warned me of the side effects and never informed me that this drug was not for long term use. She told me to take it nightly AND as needed with my Seroquel, a drug I informed her I could not get off of at that time, as it takes a very long, slow taper (something she should know). With that in mind she still told me that KLONOPIN, the WORST and hardest benzo there is and worse to withdraw from than heroin (look it up if you think Im lying) was a SAFE drug that could be taken along with my seroquel for an extended period of time. Mind you, according to her LinkedIn she has studied in Alabama and Mississippi where drug abuse is rampant, yet didnt have the sense to either inform me of the side effects, not prescribe it, or try another class of drug. This drug should not be taken for over two weeks, and even that is pushing it. Instead of trying to actually figure out what was going on with me, she just gave me harder and harder benzos which solves nothing. Knowing I did not have a proper psychiatrist (just a family doctor prescribing seroquel) she still put me on a drug that has many restrictions on who can prescribe it. Then just sent me on my way. I asked for referrals and was told repeatedly to check with my insurance as if I hadnt already done that. So she had the brains to prescribe a dangerous medication (and honestly should have given me something for blood pressure as stress was the main culprit and not just the seroquel...that would have minimized the panic feeling...learned that from a real professional that cares, but couldnt see me due to insurance issues) but not the brains to give me help and assistance in getting off of it or finding a psychiatrist. Im not sure where she gets off thinking she should be prescribing that and shes not even in Psych, shes an ER PA...should have sent me where real help was like West side or inpatient. Two years later and I am still stuck on a medication I do not need because of one PA who over prescribed a hardcore drug. Withdrawal can literally kill you in extreme AND not so extreme cases and causes seizures. Ive been tapering very slowly and it is very painful every day. I have to go to the ER to have meds filled now because no on else here will prescribe the klonopin. Now even Mount Carmel, the hospital that allowed this PA to give me this medication wont even refill for me. I have already filed a complaint and am waiting to hear back. They will probably do nothing as they always do. You are literally killing yourself if you go to the EAST location. go to the West side...they will not prescribe you benzos willy nilly as they understand fully the drug crisis hitting Ohio, and you wont become an accidental, PA induced drug addict struggling to put your life back together. I can no longer work, I can barely eat and have lost so much weight. Someone needs to start holding these PAs and hospitals accountable for what they are doing. They are not thorough at all and do not care about your well being. Youll be lucky to find anyone who does not have a bad attitude on the east side.

Great experience! From registration through release. Julie in reception was very pleasant, efficient, and helpful (at 5:15am, not always easy). Prep staff was great, Nurses Betty, Brett and Danielle were very kind, thorough, and professional. Surgeon, Cherie Ryoo EENT, was very informative and skilled, anesthesiologist Dr Jin Choi very polite and knowledgeable. Tammy and Luanne the nurses in the op room setup were nice, for the short time I met them. I apologize I dont remember the names of the recovery room guy and girl nurses but they were great as well. Charles was excellent at transport as he took me directly to the car door even though I tried to stand several times on way there, haha, just not used to that kind of full service. I highly recommend Cherie Ryoo as EENT, shes down the road on broad street, on the same side of road as the hospital, with EENT Drs Tobin and Shah. The office staff there was great when I did initial consult, Tasha the medical secretary for Dr Ryoo very courteous and helpful. My family was pleasantly surprised at the duration, detail and friendly manner Dr Ryoo used to explain how procedure went while I was in recovery. Highly recommend this facility to anyone as it was top notch start to finish. Thanks again to the wonderful office and clinical staff here. Clinical expertise and smiling faces at every turn.

My wife had a miscarriage in the ER waiting room due to the women running the desk being completely incompetent. We approached the desk 4 separate times to let them know she was bleeding excessively, but were ignored and told we had to wait as they didnt have any rooms available (which was not true because once she had the miscarriage they took us back immediately and there were at least 4 open rooms that I saw). They completely disregarded us as if we were crying wolf. My wife bled all over one of the chairs in the waiting room and they did nothing about it. I used a baby wipe to clean up the blood, but they never sent anyone to come sanitize the chair. Once she had the miscarriage and they realized we were serious she was directed by one of the ladies at the desk to go to the public bathroom in the waiting room area where she assisted my wife. However, the lady helping my wife proceeded to throw the fetus in the toilet!! Luckily she did not flush the toilet and one of the other ladies from the desk came and fished it out. It was unbelievable how they could make an already traumatising experience 10 times worse. I dont care how much of an emergency it is, I would NEVER go back to Mount Carmel and would rather drive the extra distance to another hospital. Staff was incompetent and disingenuous.

Possibly the worst experience I have ever had in my life. The nurses are rude and do not care if you are in pain. I understand things need to go through channels but the way you are treated makes you feel like you rather die than come in. My other half has been dealing with severe stomach pains for most of his life. He gets attacks where he can even stand up. Yes he is going to see a specialist but with test after test and no result. He has tried diets and not over doing it. But... he still ends up with episodes of pain. Well needless to say I took him to the er because he was having pain and also puking for 4 hours couldnt keep anything down, pale with hot and cold flashes. They at least gave him some fluids but the nurse ended up throwing the discharge papers at me and said "if he gets worse come back".... so I replied "I dont think he can he much worse". I am so disappointed with this place. A hospital should be where you go to get treated not thrown to the curb. I will never bring anyone here again. If I could post this with 0 stars I would.
