My mother is extremely ill with cancer. She could pass at any moment so my son and I sent her flowers from Texas that arrived at Hillspring just after lunch today. I called, a young lady told me she has the flowers in hand and taking them to moms room now. I talked to mom, no flowers arrived. I called back and I was told the flowers are in moms room. I know they are not and I got a little snappy. All I want is is my mother to enjoy the flowers we sent to her! The Hillspring receptionist said she will call the arts and crafts coordinator and have them delivered. I called after dinner and was put on terminal hold for 20 minutes, then I just hung up. It is now 11:15pm and i spoke to a nurse named Erica. She took my name and phone number, said she will go look for the flowers. I just received a call back, Erica found the flowers and delivered them to my mothers room! Finally! But mom was no longer coherent! There was nothing on this earth that my mother loved more than flowers! The flowers I sent for my mother to enjoy sat for nearly 12 hours at the reception desk. I begged the receptionist to take them to her and the lazy, incompetent girl lied to me over and over when i called. She STOLE the last few hours I had with my dying mother! I called the next day and wanted to speak to the director. Then I realized I was talking to the very girl that lied and made no effort to deliver the flowers. She was all giggly and bubbly and of course promised to have the director call me. I know that girl NEVER gave the director a message to call me, and I am absolutely positive that moms flowers are not the only thing that wasnt given to her. Mom wanted the heck out of that place and she died shortly after hospice took her home. DO NOT PLACE SOMEONE YOU CARE ABOUT IN A PRETTY BUILDING FULL OF HEARTLESS MONSTERS!

Heads up: several of the positive reviews below are the director himself as well as the admin under him. The director has also now threatened my father, so I had to amend the review. Dont be deceived by looks. Although it may appear nice, they are short staffed. The nurses are all nice and work hard. As do many of the aides. But theres not enough of them. First dads air conditioner has not worked for 3 weeks. In the month of July, this is unacceptable. I believe the director may have been upset about my review left before so I had to amend. I have called in several times in the last year and have had great difficulty speaking to a person. If I get the receptionist Im told someone will call me back and that never happens. This is when asking to speak to admin. Many of my fathers clothes have been lost, and I have had to replace them. This happened before they were doing his wash. When he was at franklin ridge, they lost one pair of pants of his and immediately they replaced it. There have been many times my fathers phone has not worked. Its not new technology, there is no reason a simple phone shouldnt work. A few times when my father was very ill and I called to check on him I sat on hold over an hour trying to find out if he was ok, and no one ever picked the phone back up. I believe this is due to being short staffed. There have been many times during these "care meetings" that I am told one thing, later to find out that my father was told something entirely different. I will say that the physical therapy department is excellent! If it wasnt for them my dad would never have gotten back into the condition he is now.

I cannot believe the terrible remarks made about this facility ...I have a family member plus a close friend of the family in this facility for sometime now..never not once have I witnessed anyone being rude, careless, or out of sorts to residents, and Im in there on many different occasions and different times of the day and evening...I have been treated with the otmost respect by all staff members . As for the childish remark about the administrators jewelry, this was uncalled for ...I know from other residents that the jewelry is very precious , being an heriloom to being passed down memories of loved ones that are no longer with that family. Youll always have a handful of idiots that have to be negative...which says alot about them ...I am so satisfied with the care and staff and would highly recommend this facility...

This nursing home is a beautiful facility. Looks are deceitful though. The aides are way over staffed so they are only able to provide minimal care. The nurses are rude and seem in a rush to get things done instread of answering questions. I would rather have placed my mother in a nursing home that was so pretty but had great care. The administration of this facility was awful, the DON brushed you off when you had any concerns. They only good part about this place was that the aides truly did care but were overworked. I wouldnt put my mother back in this place if it was the last nursing home on earth

ccoThis place needs a full blown investigation done by the proper authorities. I have witnessed first handed the handily of a family member. It is a beautiful home with a highly trained therapy dept..If I was the director of this facility..I would have a very serious conference with the nursing staff or they would be replaced. Our family went through all the proper channels .

My father was at Hillspring after a hip replacement and I could not have been more pleased with how the staff treated him and the care given. He was able to return home quickly. Any concerns that we had were taken care of. The Administrator and DON was very attentive in making sure we got what he needed.

A loyal team of caregivers that are altruistic at the expense of family time. While most stay home during poor weather conditions this team works tirelessly to care for people!
