I have 3 cats (Ozzy 8, Charlotte 7, and Mason 6) that I have taken to the same vet most of their life very happily; or so I thought. Mason is a bit of special needs cat, but past some questioning history given to me it was never sure what was really true there. Ozzy has had a skin condition I have been fighting with for the last 5+ years where he chews all the hair off his stomach and grooms constantly. I have changed about everything that I had ever cleaned with, brands of litter, and had to finally go through periods of giving him pills everyday for months to try and control it. Still it didnt help much. I then moved to West Chester to be with my fiancee and toiled about what to do for a vet. Then Mason got another kidney infection and I was pushed. I spent the night searching reviews for a good vet and finding little or nothing out there. I had passed the Cat Care Hospital several times and began feeling like this is where I needed to be. I called in the morning to explain what was going on and they got me in the same day. No hassle about not seeing him before, no questioning looks about my explaination of what I knew about Mason, and smiles when I showed up. Dr Baxter came in and asked a few questions all the while petting, talking to, and examining Mason. He was friendly (to my Fiancee and I as well), and very caring the entire time. To keep this short he made me forget about the vet I had used for so long and question how good she really was. He took the time to get it right and didnt hurry in and out as so many do. I really was hoping this wasnt just a one time act. I made an appointment and brought Ozzy up. Ozzy is not an easy cat for a vet. He becomed defensive immediately, gets LOUD, and even becomes a bit aggressive towards me. Through all this Dr Baxter was calm and dealt with it perfectly. Before we left Dr Baxter was confindent in what he thought was wrong with Ozzy. He told me that he was sure Ozzy was allergic to chicken (and possibly poultry) and that he needed to be weened off of it and fed a diet with none of that in it. He also spent a good deal of his time to talk to me about food and what the TRUE meaning of all those ingredience are and mean (I learned so much). Finding a cat food without chicken/poultry is very hard to do. My cats all eat together and so they all are being weened over. Also, he explained the probiotics and importants of them for cats. It has been about six weeks now and the difference is very impressive! Ozzys belly is normal colored, hair is growing, he is softer, and he has become very loving and even tempered with his new diet! IN SHORT: Dr Baxter is a genious and all around great guy! If you have a cat (or more) do your cat and self a favor and change vets immediately! His staff is exceptional and caring. He takes the time for your pet and you to know that you both matter. Extremely fair pricing and generous hours. He actually has pets (never understood a vet without pets of their own; sort of like trusting a thin chef! Lol) and tells you about his doing with them (dogs and cat). His family sounds great (and real, not all showy/perfect like some try to put on). I have to say that Dr. Baxter is one of the best finds ever for my cats and have even considered putting my dog in costume to sneak him in. Five stars, triple A+, or the top of whatever scale you use. Gregg of West Chester, Ohio

I found a kitten that was smashed under a car in a local parking lot. The kitten was gasping for air, cold, and barely a heartbeat. I drove to the closest hospital which was this one. Was told while holding the dieing kitten that I would have to wait for an examination...while a women with a perfectly fine and alive cat went before me. I was pacing the lobby. I went in the back where the dr just looked at him and said there was nothing he could do. They handed me a bill for $175. An exam and euthanasia. My father is a vet in upstate NY. Many would call that a good sam and not charge me. Seemed they were more interested in making money than putting an animal out of its misery. I have two cats at home. You couldnt pay me to take my cats there. They were terrible. I will forever tell this story to anyone who asks me about a good vet in the area. ANYWHERE but there.

Dr. Baxter and his staff are very good. My husband, our cat Patches, and I moved to West Chester about six years ago. I had a very good vet in Dayton and felt weary about finding another good vet. A friend told me about Dr. Baxter and how good he is with her difficult cat, so I figured that he had to be good with all cats. I was right! He treated Patches the way I wanted him to be treat; exceptionally well. When Patches was dying last year and we took him to Dr. Baxter for the very last time, Dr. Baxter and his staff made us feel like we were the only ones there. It felt like a highly respectful homegoing for our furry family member who had been with us for 12 years. Ill never forget their compassion and empathy and will only come to them to care for future pets. Shawn Krumm, West Chester

We have been going to Dr. Baxter for 20+ years and he has always been professional, pleasant and reasonably priced. All of his staff are extremely nice as well. I highly recommend his practice and often point friends and neighbors in his direction!

CCH has been there through the years for my cats. From my first bottle fed kitten to my latest two kittens. They take care of them getting "fixed", vacs, any sickness that may arise and their over all health care! They are pawsome!

By far the most knowledgeable of our vets thus far(weve moved a couple times). The receptionist/assistant(?) didnt seem to listen to us when we were trying to speak to her, though, which is the only reason for docking a star.
