Nine Lives
I noticed that most reviews are related to the chiropractor. My review has to do with the massage and scheduling. I have been to this place several times. I discovered it through groupon and came back after I used the groupon as it is close to where I live and massage therapists are decent. However, I quickly learned that scheduling an appointment is not easy with them. They do not operate like a normal doctor office/wellness spa with a front desk. Instead one leaves a voice mail or sends an email with an appointment request and gets a call back in a few days to schedule. Therefore, if a call is missed, good luck scheduling -- it might take a few days if not a week to get something setup. This is something that I was not a fan of but did not mind because I liked the location. However, the last appointment that I scheduled was very much needed because I started to experience tension and neck pain. The initial appointment took a few weeks to setup because of the above mentioned phone tag issues. When it was finally schedulued it got cancelled the day of the appointment by the therapist himself because he was sick. I had to email/call to reschedule which took another couple of days. To my surpise they were able to get me in a few days later. Well, when I showed up to my appointment, I entered an empty space (which is not unusual on a weekend when only one massage therapist is present and he/she is with a client). I waited for a few minutes till my appointment time but nobody came out to get me. I waited some more (still in an empty waiting room). Finally it was 15 minutes after my appointment time and I started contemplating leaving. I did hear voices and thought that the therapist was running behind with a previous client. I decided to stick around and call their office in the hopes of re-scheduling or getting in touch with someone; I tried knocking and making myself heard so that I can at least talk to therapist and inquire as to what was happening with my appointment. However, despite by attempts I was getting nowhere. I waited for an hour until finally the therapist came out and informed me that I was not on his schedule. I showed him my appointment confirmation email and he checked his schedule again. Apparently somehow my appointment was dropped due to "scheduling system issues". I was told to either call back and/or have him schedule me with another therapist later that week. I left disappointed. Not only did I waste an hour, I also did not get an appointment date/time I wanted with the therapist I requested. When I got home, I got a call back from ProActive (the same therapist who just rescheduled me) and was told that the appointment time he set me up with was no good -- once again, due to scheduling system issue. So we had to change the day and time AGAIN. Not sure if that appointment will even occur given the nature of the whole situation. I am also not confident if I will return to this place in the future. Not only it is difficult to get somebody on the phone for proper scheduling, apparently, it is also not easy to keep your appointment. The whole thing just screams lack of professionalism and customer service in a very customer-oriented environment. I think they need to re-think their scheduling process and have some accountability for mishaps. To have a client wait in an empty office for an hour and then turn them away is not something that should be allowed... let alone in a place where people come to feel good.

ProActive is located inside Urban Active in New Albany. I first learned of them through a friend that went in for a metabolism test. I decided I would try it to, and I was very pleased with my results. The test gave a well rounded overview of my health, as well as set the tone for a plan to get healthy. Dr. Chris went a step further and noticed tension in my back and neck and upon further review, it was determined that I needed to enroll in spine bootcamp. I have never been to a chiropractor before and had no idea that the pain I was feeling could be relieved with simple realignment. I just assumed my back was sore from work or other items, not from my spine. As soon he worked on my back I immediately felt relief. It was as if 50 pounds had been lifted from my back. Dr. Chris also gave me "homework" by sending a video explaining how the spine and nervous system work together. It was a great video that demonstrated how both pieces affect almost everything connected to your health. The best part about this practice is how they work together with the gym. If youve ever seen "Biggest Loser" it is very similiar-you have a trainer at the gym, but you also need the medical oversight and expertise of doctors that understand your goals. They help create a plan to get you on target to be healthy overall, not just to lose weight. I would recommend this team of doctors to anyone looking to feel better about their health. When I go in, I am generally tense and sore but I leave refreshed, relaxed and with more energy. Since they work with almost all insurance companies, why not start using your benefits to your advantage and start feeling better?

Dr.Luke is very patient, empathetic and kind. Ive been seeing him for several months and he never makes me feel rushed. He listens to all my concerns without judgment. On my long and arduous journey of recovery, Ive suffered from various conditions including IBSD, spinal issues, slipped discs, neuropathies and fibromyalgia. His adjustments and nutritional advice are definitely helping me feel better and within a few weeks I already feel more hopeful. More than anything else, the reason I would recommend Dr.Luke is not just because hes a really great doctor, but out of the maybe close to a 100 doctors Ive seen in my 28 years, Ive never met a doctor more personable or caring than he. I cannot emphasize enough how important that is to a person dealing with chronic pain and/or disability. So, if you want a doctor that is skilled, compassionate and really listens, hes your best bet. I actually look forward to my appointments. Going to the doctors doesnt seem like a stressful, miserable experience. I always leave feeling both physically and emotionally better! Ive also had massages with Sarah and Becky. Both of them are very professional, amicable and do a great job. The rooms are immaculate. The whole staff is super friendly and it really feels like youre a part of a family there. Its affordable and even the massage packages and prices are some of the best Ive found anywhere so I definitely recommend!

I wanted to update a previous review from a while back. I have continued with the wellness program and am still very positive with all my results. It is not just spine alignments, adjustments etc, Dr Chris recommends exercises, give great diet thoughts and so much more. I feel better, lost about 15 lbs and feel folks should really look into Proactive to start taking control of how they want to feel. Again many Thanks and a great place...... My wife had been urging me to go to Dr. Chris for months as she had excellent results. I have some lower back pain/stiffness issues that Ive lived with for years. I finally took her advice and having been going to Proactive for a couple of months. I have to say this has been a great investment. My back is much, much better (play golf at least twice a week , I did previously but suffered the next day, not now). Also much more than just spine/neck adjustments, I got great advice on diet and exercises that have helped me so much. Kudos for DR. Chris and staff, give it a try , I have not heard anyone say anything but postives for those that have. Thanks Bob from Gahanna
