I had been going to Pet Hospital of Willoughby for over 2 years with my 2 beagles. When I got my 2nd beagle, he was stray, not in the greatest condition, I took him for a full exam and vaccines. Shouldve paid more attention to this red flag #1, his eye and ear infections were BOTH overlooked and I was told they were fine at the initial visit, when I had asked about both. A week after being there, my dog was clearly uncomfortable from both infections that I noticed the beginning of and asked about and was told were fine, so I had to go back there to one of the other vets there. Maybe 8 months later, my dog was in for anal gland issues and infections. They gave him 3 rounds of the same antibiotic back to back (instead of maybe trying a different approach after the first 2 rounds), and he still kept getting the infection. I was in there so frequently with this, that I was told by the one vet tech that I would not be charged for the next tech visit. Well, of course I got a bill after the next tech visit anyways.... Obviously, what they were doing was not working so I had to seek another opinion at a vet that was a bit closer to my house for my dogs well being. I had the pet hospital send both of my dogs files to that vet (bc they were both going together to the one visit). Apparently, if they have to send your dogs records to another vet, for whatever reason, they immediately mark you as INACTIVE, which I did not know until later. So a couple of months later, despite the previous mishaps and non-resolving of issues, bc their prices are good and we are creatures of habit, I try to get my dog scheduled for his annual visit and get checked out for another issue he was having on a daily basis, and thats when I found out I was marked inactive. This was on a Tuesday, and I was told that someone higher up was supposed to call me back to see about getting my dogs files reactivated. I figured it would be no big deal, so ok. Tuesday, no one calls. Wednesday, no one calls. I call back on Thursday and Im told Dr. Doles would be calling me most likely on Friday. So on Friday, no one calls. I call Friday afternoon and was told by a different woman that Im not ever going to get a call bc them sending my records to another vet goes against their "hospital policy." Apparently, if you want to get another opinion bc they are not properly fixing your dogs health issue, you get BARRED from the practice and ARE NOT ALLOWED TO EVER COME BACK. They sure did make leaving them for good SUPER EASY and made my decision to now permanently switch vets SUPER REASSURING. Clearly, I shouldve done that much sooner given that they have overlooked and did not properly treated my dogs recurring issues. If you want consistent and fair treatment for you and your pets, I would NOT recommend going here. I am thoroughly regretting referring people to this practice in the past.

We rescued a beautiful little kitty 14 months ago. She was two months old at the time. She was the sweetest and most loving kitty and we all loved her. This past Wed she appeared to be having a seizure of some kind. My daughter, 20, was so frightened scooped her up and took her down the street to this clinic. She was in parking lot and called to make sure she could get right in. The rude receptionist put her on hold and the doc refused to see her when what were precious minutes went by. You are despicable low life "animals" who pretend to care but do not. The vet across from Willoughby police station took her and tried everything they possibly could to help Gypsy. She died. But they tried and when time was of the essence you REFUSED treatment for this little angelic kitty. I tell everyone I know this story so no one ever gives your clinic their precious pets because you are cold hearted and only money not the precious life of an animal motivates you. Disgusting

Love this hospital. They treat your pets as your family (which they are). My fiances family has been going there since before she was born, and then when her and I got together she wanted to take our kitten and dog there. I had been going to another vet off 305 for years for our family pets and i wasnt to happy that she insisted to go somewhere else. She agreed to try my vet out and wasnt happy at all. She said they were to pricey and just didnt feel like they thought of our dog as family. I let her take our new born kitten to her vet the next time around and i immediately knew what she meant. Their prices are a lot cheaper and their care is amazing! Yes things can still be pricey but that is with anything medical. They are always fast to call you back and when you call and they will do whatever they can to help over the phone. They know how important your pet is to you and they take amazing care of them. I would ALWAYS recommend them!!

I have had nothing but BAD experiences with this place. But yesterday was the last one. My Beagle has chronic back problems. As do a lot of Beagles. I took him there 3 times in a year for same problems. They will not issue refill unless you take your pet back in for another office visit charge. The last time I visited them was 1 month ago. All they do is probe until he cries and say "Yes it is the same problem." Well I called them at 8Am and it is now 11Am the next day and they still havent decided whether to re-issue meds or if they want to get another office visit charge. I will never take another pet to these people. It isnt about proper loving care with them. It is all about the money.

I have taken many pets from rats and birds to dogs to Dr. Doles for the past 30 years. I would never think to go anywhere else. He truly cares for the animals as well as their owners. He does not breed discriminate and he is the first vet that my animals did not show apprehension with. Could be because he just sits right on the floor with them and sneaks them biscuts? Yeah.. thats what Im going with! His prices are more than fair. I am a fan for life! Oh.. and I have never had to make an appointment to get a medication refilled and I had two dogs on long term pain medication for joint issues as well as Fourth of July anxiety.

Love this vet! Ive been to a couple other vets in Lake County, but since moving, needed to find a vet closer to home. Since the rescue organization I got my dog from worked with Pet Hospital and praised them, I decided to try them out. First up so far: my cat. From my first visit, to a surgery, I have been impressed by the consultations Ive received from the staff- both over the phone and live- and the appt. with a vet there. Theyve all been pleasant, never making be feel rushed, and have been very caring so far. And their rates are more affordable than the vet clinics Ive used the last few years. I definitely recommend.
