Ive visited this vet clinic a handful of times for three of my cats and I have hated every single visit, especially the last two. The most recent visit was today and the reason why Im officially done with this vet and now writing this review. A) They never, ever have a mature, kind, and professional receptionist, B) Its not clean, and today in the exam room during my cats visit I noticed cat hair all over the exam table and weight scale from the previous patient, C) Overly priced ($220 for just bloodwork? I dont think so!) and the most expensive thing is always conveniently pushed for you to get, D) The current veterinarian is so impersonal, without tact or sympathy, hurried, and literally only expresses an air of this is no more than my day job, so dont expect any extra effort. ...My favorite part about todays visit was when I made the heart-wrenching decision to have my cat put down and when the time came for it to be done, the vet literally came sweeping in the exam room and with an upbeat smile asked loudly if we were ready. ...Im sorry, do you not know how to show compassion? Apparently not. So yes, todays visit was by far the worst visit Ive made to this particular vet clinic and Im completely content to keep it my last. I do NOT recommend this vet clinic.

My 10 lb shih zhu was mauled by a black bear last Saturday around 7 a.m. My dog was unresponsive and lost a lot of blood. I was terrified and worried that I wouldnt be able to find a vet that would be open on a Saturday. Luckily, I called East Lake Animal Clinic. The receptionist fit me into the schedule immediately. Shortly after I arrived, they rushed my dog back for the doctor to see. At the time, I was scared, but looking back, Im so thankful for Dr. Beckhardt and her staff. She kept me informed the entire time and assured me that my Skip was in great hands. Thanks to the staff at East Lake, Skip is alive and well. Since his attack, hes gone to East Lake on two other occasions to check his progress and to have his drains removed. As soon as I turn down Mt. Plymouth Rd, Skip gets excited and starts wagging his tail, and as soon as we walk in, he runs toward the staff members with excitement. I think he knows that they saved his life.The staff at East Lake made Skip and I feel like family. Were looking forward to having all of this future vaccinations and yearly bloodwork done here. I highly recommend this vet to anyone and everyone. I can honestly say that I dont know where my best friend and I would be without them.

Please be warned....East Lake Animal Clinic, Sorrento, FL East Lake Animal is one of the worst vets offices I have ever been to. I took my kitten in on a Saturday because she seemed tired. They took blood (and charged an outrageous fee) with a promise to “put a rush” on it. They actually said they have no idea whats wrong with her yet they sent her home with a vitamin supplement for anemia. Promised to call with lab results Monday. She died! We woke up Sun to her not moving. Her eyes open and breathing but not responsive at all. We had to take her to an emergency clinic and she was put to sleep. When East Lake was called Monday afternoon to discuss $ and let them know she was gone – and they hadnt even sent the blood work in to the lab yet! This is a line from their website “We are here to diagnose the problem before just treating the symptoms.” HA! That is total B.S. This office has changed hands since the last time I was there and the new owner/operators are absolute A--holes!!!!!

I have two Shih tzu dogs, Samson & Delilah. They are mine and my fiances universe. Weve had these two since they were 3 months old. I want the best for my pets and therefore choose their Veterinarians wisely. East Lake Animal Clinic has been there for them many times but once especially. They under came a very serious medical condition that has minimal success rates. My dog Delilah needed a lot of work and attention. She was under 24 hour care for over a week due to her not being able to eat, drink, or go to the bathroom. She even needed to have blood transfusions. I feel that most Veterinarians would have thrown in the towel but instead they researched more and more until they were able to find a solution. East Lakes knowledgeable and friendly staff saved both of my pets, Samsons was caught early before it progressed. For that I thank them and I recommend them to everyone.

My experience with East Lake Animal Clinic could be nothing but positive. Im a volunteer with an English Bulldog rescue organization, and foster many of these pups that come to us with so many issues. I can call them at moments notice and allowed to bring the bullie in. I have called in the middle of the night as well as weekends, and have always gotten a call back. I have been to all three offices, and have always been treated with the up most respect. If anyone knows anything about EB, they have many issues...if one of the vets is not familiar with symptom that they are brought in for, they consult with each other. The staff is friendly and caring, and my dogs go in there happy and come out happy. I would highly recommend any of these 3 facilities.

For over 2 years that we have bringing our pets here for their exams, check up and emergency services I can say without a doubt that I am very impressed by the veterinarians and staff of East Lake Animal Clinic. We forever foster 2 senior English Bulldogs one is 15 now and one is 8 we also have 2 younger English Bulldogs of our own that are 5 and 6 years old. East Lake Animal Clinic has always taken fantastic care of our family of fur babies. I would recommend them to any one that is considering a new veterinarian for your furpanions. We can’t thank you all enough for showing your love and dedication to ours and others pets.

Dr. Beckhardt is wonderful~! She always knows our dogs when they arrive and gives them loving and professional care when they are sick. She is open to questions and listens to owners concerns and suggestions. The care and attention given to our animals is top notch and the office and vet tech staff is always friendly and ready to help. Whether we call or come in for a visit, the staff greets us happily. Villma makes boarding a dream and our dogs love coming to see her. I dont think our ShihTzu ever gets put down when she is around Villma.

During the past 9 1/2 years, I have made countless trips to this clinic, mostly due to the severe allergies of my Shih-tzu, Tanner Cooper. We also have a "grumpy" 15 year old Lab, Bear, who is a bit difficult to handle. Clinic visits, we r met with staff, showing professionalism & concern for our pets. East Lake is a small clinic in a small community. U get a "family feeling" when u visit. ❤️ Love Dr. Beckart, Villma, Miss Patti, Malcolm & entire staff. They r the best!

WORST VET EVER. They completely botched the surgery on my dog. They were supposed to just remove a tumor. Now four months later my dog still has an open wound that will not heal because they did not properly suture the incision. To make matters even worse THE TUMOR IS STILL THERE. Now my dog limps around after having gone through all this for nothing and these heartless butchers refuse to accept any responsibility at all and charged me almost a thousand dollars.
