Dr. Richman is a condescending, insensitive egomaniac! Following is my experience, much like a previous one I read here, but mine ended with disastrous and heartbreaking results, due to this doctors inexperience and ineptness in diagnosing my poor dogs illness! I brought one of my basset hounds to Dr. Richman immediately after I found bright red blood in her stool (December). After three months of numerous visits back and forth, various recommended treatments (for parasites, etc.), and a myriad of suggested and expensive tests (physical exams, several blood count work ups, barium contrast study x-ray) I was told were needed for proper diagnosis the bleeding never stopped. Dr. Richman knew I would spare no expense on my babies; I did whatever he told me was necessary. Finally in March when Dr. Richman ran out of things to test for and ways to test, he finally decided it was only her diet and he tried to sell me some expensive dog food he carries at his clinic. I did not buy it because I felt if it was merely her diet that would have been the first thing he should have suggested! He just could not admit he did not know and his ego prevented him from suggesting to me to seek out a specialist. I trusted him at first, but his nonchalant and casual attitude about the ongoing problem that he could not diagnose with all his advised testing was frustrating and led me to seek out a specialist on my own. Upon my first visit with the specialist, and completely by physical exam, my Ellie Mae was immediately diagnosed with polyps which had turned cancerous due to the amount of time that had elapsed (wasted time due to Dr. Richman). I was sick and could not believe it! Why, between the numerous blood work, various recommended tests, and all the physical exams (I distinctly remember he told me during one of his initial rectal exams that he "felt roughness in her anus when it should have been smooth") did this bumbling incompetent doctor not recognize immediately that these were polyps he was feeling???? Hes the doctor! It seems obvious he should have known and if he was that inexperienced and did not, he should have at the very least recognized that this was not normal and if he did not know what it was he should have acknowledged this and sent me elsewhere, at least realizing how serious of a matter this was.......and not to be remedied ultimately by diet after all else fails! We immediately started a prescribed course of chemo treatments with the specialist, but sadly it was caught too late due to Dr. Richmans incompetence and ego. I lost her in July and her brother and I still have not recovered from her loss. I tried to give Dr. Richman the benefit of the doubt until I took my other basset (who was still deeply grieving over the loss of his sister who he had been with for eight years) to him in a month later in August for another matter. At that time, Dr. Richman was cold and rude and he could not have been any less compassionate toward me or my dog after everything we had been through already with him (He also knew I lost my mom in May during Ellies illness also). I tried to hold my other dog still for him during the exam to comfort him as he was petrified of Dr. Richman, but all Dr. Richman did was yell at me and tell me to sit down and leave my dog alone while he had his vet tech do the same thing I was trying to do which only distressed and upset my dog even more. He is callous and uncaring. Dr. Richman is a greedy, money hungry narcissist whose ignorance and ineptitude led to the early demise of my poor baby which she could have recovered from had Dr. Richman not wasted so much time trying to be right instead of at the very least admitting that he just did not know. IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS ~ DO NOT TRUST DR. RICHMAN!!!

Ive been taking my dog Mazy to Richman Animal Clinic for years. Recently, Mazy suffered from spinal cord problems. Im still not completely sure what brought them on, but if I had to make a guess, it was probably the time she chased a squirrel and fell against a large pot in the backyard, breaking it (although no immediate symptoms of ataxia were apparent, so who knows). In any case, the spinal cord issues caused Mazys hind legs to become paralytic. My wife and I rushed Mazy to a 24 hour animal clinic, as it was a Sunday night at the time, and we werent really sure at the time what was wrong with her, and that animal clinic simply ran an X-ray and charged several hundred dollars for it. We called Richman Animal Clinic the next day and got Mazy checked in that same day. Thanks to Dr. Richmans laser therapy and guidance, Mazy is walking again. We still have a few sessions of the laser therapy left, but Mazy has improved so much already. She has several weeks to go yet, but the fact that she can walk at all really shows that the hard work of Dr. Richman and his staff, as well as Mazy, is really paying off. Mazys condition was so bad that she needed two rounds of laser treatment, but even both sets of laser treatments (6 treatments apiece) combined were less than what my wife and I had paid for Mazys X-ray at the 24 hour clinic. But were getting more than just laser treatments - were also getting a personalized care plan for Mazy that is working! (laser therapy, medication, instructions for care at home, etc.) Im hopeful that shell be at 80-100% in the coming weeks - shes already made tremendous strides in a short amount of time, especially considering the severity of the spinal cord issue. Ill definitely keep taking Mazy back to Richman Animal Clinic - Dr. Richman and his staff help keep Mazy, the very hyperactive dog that she is, healthy, happy, and excited to return.

If you are looking for the best veterinarian for your pet, look no further. We have been clients of Dr. Jeff Richman for over 25 years. The previous sentence is testimony enough, but we certainly cannot leave it at that. Finding the words to convey his love and compassion, for both pet and pet owner is a staggering task. His dedication to your pet’s care knows no office hour limits. This was made evident on a Sunday afternoon when he dropped everything to meet us at his hospital for the sad goodbye to our first dog. I still have the page and a half, hand written letter he wrote, consoling us in our loss. His love and compassion is surpassed only by his knowledge, thoroughness and commitment to his education, staying current on the most up-to-date and best practice procedures for your pet. He is humble, whereas, in the event that your pet may need a procedure that requires a specialist that is outside the realm of his expertise, refers you the best specialist and course of action to ensure the best for your pet. His staff is outstanding as well…friendly, committed and compassionate. So, if you truly want the best for your four-legged family member, you have found it here at the Richman Animal Clinic!

Denise and I have been using Dr. Richman and the Richman Animal Clinic for nearly 25 years. The care of our animals has always been outstanding and top notch. He has treated every odd illness and injury with professionalism, been extremely thorough and has always provided the best medical care. Dr. Richman prides himself on using the best cutting edge veterinary medicine and technology; treatments that are often not offered anywhere close to NE Ohio. They always follow up often after there has been any incident or illness. They make it a point to make sure we get in promptly no matter what time we call or when it is. Dr. Richman and his staff have been there for us through three of our dogs having passed away and have given us plenty of time to say our goodbyes, as well as being there for us during those hard times. They use a great facility for cremation and make sure everything is taken care of during those hard times. Dr. Richman and his staff are like family to us. We would not want to take our babies anywhere else!
