Westmoreland Family Medicine has recently gone to a system of rotating nurses among its doctors. This means that the patient has little chance to become known to a nurse nor can the nurse become familiar with the patient. It changes the dynamics of the encounter, not nearly so relaxing and comforting, important aspects to the person needing care. I think it dehumanizes and devalues both patient and nurse by making logistics primary, not patient care. Nurses, as well as doctors, are important parts of the medical care given to us.

I am not really qualified to judge a medical professionals technical competence, but Dr. Balsam has never given me any reason to doubt his.
