I went to this clinic a handful of times in 2014. Each visit was about 15-30 minutes with a nurse who did nothing more than give a refferal every single time. At best she gave me a 5 minute lecture about using sunscreen. I also had a single blood test. I was paying out of pocket for insurance through the Affordable Care Act for a premium plan (given I have a serious health issue) and needed treatment. On one visit, the receptionist refused to take my insurance information since I didnt have an official looking card yet. I had all of the relevant information for my insurance on a printed page with me, but it was not a card, so the receptionist refused it. I am looking at a collections letter right now for a total of $812.12 due to their failure to accept my insurance for a short visit (all were short). It appears that is owed to a Tuality Community Hospital. I was fully insured for every single visit at Oreco Station Medical Group. For whatevever reason, they declined to bill my valid insurance and bill me personally $840.12 for a short visit or simple blood test then send me to collections.

Yeah, I shouldve looked at reviews. They have a first-visit patient fee of like $350, regardless of the complexity of the work or if they do anything at all. I went in to have an inflamed cyst removed. The nurse took my blood pressure, temp., and oxygen (you can buy the stuff for these tests for less than a hundred bucks). The doctor talked with me for five minutes and said he couldnt do anything for me, there. But they had my name and address so they were going to charge me $350 regardless of not doing anything. I contested the charge but the woman at the end of the chain blamed insurance for not paying it, not that they were charging $350 for 15 minutes of staff time (five for clerical, five for the nurse, five for the doc) and said they did something (checked pulse, oxygen, etc.).

I just made my first medical visit there. My excellent PCP is also now there and the office is now being run under the latest state-of-the-art computerized medical records systems available. And the re-organized staff is efficient and responsive. And OHSUs new partnership really boosts the depth of care that can be serviced.
