1 star is way too generous, but I dont have the option of selecting none. These people are extremely dishonest and unethical! I first heard about this dental clinic back in January of 2016. One of their dentists was offering free services to WIC recipients when I arrived for my WIC appointment. I just so happened to have broken off part of a tooth earlier that day, so, on learning free services were being offered, I went over to the appropriate table to utilize them. The dentist and his assistant happily informed me about the Sea Mar dental clinic in Tumwater, WA, as they brushed a coat of a pain-numbing substance on my sore tooth. I told them I didn’t have any money to spend on dentists and they said that was fine, that they would accept my Medicaid. Mindful of the fact that my husband, a legal immigrant, had been suffering from tooth pain for a while but unable to fix his teeth because of a lack of money, I asked if they knew of any resources for him. The dentist told me that Sea Mar would accept him, too, free of charge. “Just don’t expect to be treated the same day the exam is done. Sometimes we can get you in, and sometimes we can’t.” Happy to have found some relief for my husband, I told him of the deal and we drove clear to Tumwater, over 20 miles from where we live, a few days later, using money given to us by my mother for gas. We got to Sea Mar in plenty of time and filled out the usual paperwork. Just to make sure we weren’t mistaken, I informed the lady at the front desk that we had no insurance and could not afford to pay: that we were here for the charity service offered by a dentist visiting my WIC office. She said that was fine and all seemed to be well. After a long wait, my husband was seen. After what felt like forever he finally came back out of the office. He needed a filling for the tooth in question, and we were told it would cost $60. We’d also have to wait 3 months. What a nasty shock. Naturally we had no choice but to decline, as we did not have the money. We left, upset at having wasted so much time and gas, and thought that was that. Over a month went by without incidence. Then, out of the blue, we received a letter in the mail from Sea Mar saying we owed $50 for his exam! Shocked, we wrote a letter to that Sea Mar clinic telling them politely that we had been informed that the exam was free and could not afford to pay the $50. We also sent letters from our relatives that are supporting us as well as bank statements and bills reflecting our terrible financial shape. We both thought the bill would be dropped. Nope! Not long after we received another letter from that Sea Mar clinic which basically said “Sorry, but you still owe this money. Please pay up.” The nerve! These people LIED, and they TRICKED us. There is no way we would have agreed to have my husband examined if we knew it was going to cost us anything, as we were/are dirt broke and already so far in debt we are probably going to have to declare bankruptcy soon. But even if we did have the money, we wouldn’t pay simply because they lied to us in order to get our business! Very, very dishonest and unprofessional. We will never do business with these crooks again, and we are telling everyone who will listen about our experience.

Several years ago the dentist put a crown on my tooth. After having pains in that tooth every since he put the crown on with out doing a root canal. The pain got worse, finally over the past six months I kept going in and telling them the tooth needed to be pulled, they kept making excuses as to why they couldnt pull the tooth. After going in oh about six or so times because they promised over the phone they would pull the tooth, and having exrays done all six times and being told there was nothing the matter with the tooth so they wouldnt pull it,, like its all in my head, Im imagining the pain, or something and sick all of the time because the tooth is infected and putting poison in my body. And having to waist my time going to the doctor and emergency and them for pain pills or antibiotics. I finally went to Comfort Dental. This dentist agreed to pull the tooth, when he removed the crown he asked me if the dentist at Seamar had told me the root was exposed and that was why my tooth hurt so bad and yes it was infected and needed to be pulled. Exact words were, its probably a good thing your getting this tooth pulled. Turns out Seamar gets paid by state insurance regardless of whether they fix the tooth, or do anything, basically they get paid for office visits, period, sounds like a scam to me. And anyways I was so tired of being treated like a hypochondriac because I had to keep going to the doctors and dentists office because I was sick and in pain because of the tooth, they said there was nothing the matter with. Like blame me for their in compatence so they can tell the insurance company its me and not them. Now that the tooth is gone I feel so much better. Healthy, and happy and the pain is gone! No more waisting time at the doctors office. Woohoo!

They dont even deserve 1 star. By far the most garbage dental care I have ever received. Mean dentists, unprofessional care, shotty work. Filthy, run-down facility, outdated equipment, slow service, rough hygenists, rude staff... I could go on. I had one filling literally fall apart within a week of having it placed. I also had a tooth drilled and filled, that went on to cause me months of excrutiating pain. They told me this was "normal" and to come back if the pain persisted after a FEW MONTHS. Turns out they drilled all the way down to the root, and I will now need a root canal and crown, a service which they do not offer and my insurance does not cover. I could honestly go on to write a book detailing all of my complaints about this place, but Ill just say - they are awful. If there is any way you can manage or afford to go somewhere else, do it. I think I would have been better off just leaving my cavities as they were than going to SEAMAR for treatment.

Have gone 3 times to get a badly infected tooth removed. First time they said it "Wasnt bad enough" for them to pull. Dentist was also very rude, pocketing change I dropped and calling it a tip, as well as calling me a wimp because he started prodding hard at my already painful tooth and I asked him to ease up a little. 2nd time, (a month later), they noticed a crack and refused to pull it because they were scared they might break it, so they referred me to an oral surgeon. 24 hours later, the tooth abscessed badly and I had to go to the ER to get it drained. The doctor at the ER said I didnt have time to wait for an oral surgeon (2-3 month waiting list), and told me to go back and beg them to pull it. So I went back a few days later, 3rd time now, and they refused to even see me, saying that since they referred me out, they can no longer treat me. Absolutely awful service, and I dont recommend anyone going there.
