This place is horrible. I came in because my bottom wisdom tooth is hurting so bad that I can only chew on one side of my mouth. When I came in I filled out the form and they admitted and the doctor did a physical exam of my oral cavity. We agreed on just one tooth extraction, and then when he left to get ready for the procedure his assistant came in with a bill and told me I had to pay her $295. I told her I didnt have any money right now but I just got a job and would like to make payments on a bill later. She told me that I couldnt be treated, and went back and had the doctor write a prescription for some medication for me. I asked if she knew that pharmacies charge money to fill prescriptions, and when she said yes I asked her why she would have the doctor write a prescription for a medication I obviously cant pay for as youre kicking me out for not having any money. What a despicable way for people who work in the medical field to treat a patient who is in pain, and is still in pain as I write this review. The doctor was also pretty frat boy who couldnt have been older than thirty, and my instructer (Im a dental assisting student) told us that she stopped sending externs to that office because they like to bring in free labor from students doing check offs while their assistants are on vacation, and then they dont have to pay someone to cover them but the poor student is stuck being the only assistant in the office when they just finished school and arent even getting paid yet. These people are greedy scum who care more about money than the people they went to school to help. DONT EVER GO HERE

Not only hated it but dangerous. Save yourself. Wait for a Monday or the next day to see a quality dentist. Guy was brutal, the entire experience was shocking. Pulled one tooth that had broken off. I had to go see another dentist for follow up pain and his exact words were "man, they really tore you up". The dentist at Portland Emergency Dental was brutal and Im not a lightweight when it comes to dental work. A lady before me that he pulled was screaming because she still was in pain as he was pulling. The assistant just kept saying "breathe, breathe, breathe". If someone needs to be saying that to you to breathe then the manner in which the teeth are extracted is wrong. He literally started pulling immediately with no talking to you and thus no describing what he was going to do. This place is hell and I dont know how they havent gotten in trouble with the board overseeing dental practices. Portland Emergency Dental cost me an additional 400.00 in treatment on top of the 300.00 I paid them to remove the molar. 700.00 to pull one tooth. Don;t go here for the love of God. Ive got an infection underneath the blood plug and he they way he cut my jaw to get a root out he left a bone spur, which had to be take off. The infection is lingering and wont go away. That Infection happened at their office as it is under the blood plug. Seriously folks, avoid this place for your health and safety. And it appeared to me that the practices of cleanliness with hands was lacking. At one point the assistant was not wearing gloves. I hope I didnt pick up something more serious from this place.

I went here for non-emergent service. In fact, mine was cosmetic (composite-filling of a chipped tooth). As they provide standard dental services, this was not an issue for them. The assessment and anticipated x-rays were declared to me (incl. the maximum possible charges) at the time of appointment scheduling (by telephone). These charges were consistent with the actual charges (I was actually given a discount on them due to the fact I did not have dental ins.; I believe this is likely std in the industry). The procedure, alternatives and charges were discussed in full (prior to proceeding) by the dentist and an offc. mngr. in separate conversations. I was able to go straight-on to the procedure after my assessment; I did not need to reschedule as time was available to do so. Once I decided to proceed, they requested I pre-pay for the procedure in full. I was informed that no further charges would apply. The dentist was patient, thorough and professional throughout the entire process. As fine-finishing work was a necessary part, there was no sign of impatience or rushing to complete the process faster than possible; the procedure was not complete until I was fully satisfied with the outcome. In fact, the dentist requested that I take the time to explore that all that needed detailing was addressed. After the procedure (as well as before), the dentist emphasized that I was free to return (at no charge, of course) and have any aspect of the procedure that was still unsatisfactory addressed in full. An itemized receipt was provided by the fully professional and friendly staff.

This place is full of a bunch of sheisters. They promised me they could do oral sedation and payment plans, but they were really shifty about it while I was doing the $55 inspection. Only after they were done with inspecting my teeth (And did a number of totally unnecessary and painful procedures to tell me things I already told them) did they say that they had to refer me to another dentist. After I told them my requirements included having the tooth extracted that day. So i wait for the next morning (in lots of pain) to find out my referral points me to a doctor who wont be in until 4 more days. So unless you like having frozen things held against your teeth after telling them you are sensitive to hot/cold, stay way the hell away from these window lickers. It will be a cold dark day in hell before I ever set foot in this place again, unless it was to sue. We werent the only ones with issues. While we were waiting to be seen, one patients ride complained about 4 hours for a cleaning and extraction. And when he finally did leave, he had blood running from his mouth all over himself. No attempt at a cleanup was offered. Another old lady had to wait 45 minutes before anyone even spoke to her. She was in a great deal of pain the entire time.

I had my 2 bottom wisdom teeth that have been hurting me for a few months. My dentist told me that I needed to get all my wisdom teeth taken out but I was too afraid to do so. Then when they started hurting, I couldnt get in to the specialists office for a long time so I decided to go to Emergency dental. I had to wait a little bit but I didnt care cause I really needed to get something done! The dentist there was great. He was very patient with me and took the time to explain the procedure and also confirmed that I needed all my wisdom teeth out. He reassured me and the assistant was great also in making me feel as comfortable as you can be in a dental office. So I got the laughing gas cause I was too nervous to get the procedure done. Then everything went nicely and smoothly. I expected the freezing to hurt but it was bearable and the gas just made everything seem better. I was much calmer and the dentist was able to get all 4 teeth out in no time. He looked young but he was a very skilled dentist and I am happy he got everything done pretty fast! The insurance part went without any problems and the lady at the front desk was really nice too.
