First of all I would like to commend the PT staff, they helped my mother greatly. Other than that, this facility was horrible! My mother could not eat the food served daily as it was inedible, a family member drove 30 miles round trip daily just to make sure she had nutritional food to eat, along with that my mother became dehydrated due to lack of staff bringing her water. When my mother would push the call button for assistance, it took up to one hour to receive the help. My mother had just undergone a hip replacement; she was unable to make it to the restroom on her own. The restroom was shared by four other people, my mother ended up defecating and urinating on herself while waiting for staff to show up to assist her or for the restroom to be vacant. My mother also came home with a large pressure sore on the bottom of her heal, which would have been easily prevented if the staff would have paid enough attention to moving her feet; she was left laying for long periods of time in one position.... actually, my mother told me she was never moved, except by the PT staff. The company contacted a family member for comments regarding my mothers treatment after discharge. When he told him of all the deficiencies of the facility, he was hung up on. If you have a family member or you, yourself, are looking for a rehabilitation center after a surgery; I highly recommend you go elsewhere!

Avoid this place at all costs! My grandfather was at French Prairie for a short time after he had a stroke. He was given a feeding tube against his wishes, and even though he was told it could be removed at any time, the doctors had no intention of doing so, because that would mean that he might be stable enough to move to a different facility. He has diabetes which was well controlled without insulin prior to his arrival. Within a few days he was being given 5 insulin shots a day, and his blood sugar was a roller coaster, due to the liquid vegetable oil, sugar and chemical concoction put in his feeding tube. When my mom demanded that his request to have the tube removed be honored, and told the staff that they would be looking for another facility to care for him, it was threatened that she would be turned in for "elder abuse" because she was only transferring him for "financial gain". Luckily we got him out before he went into a diabetic coma. Within a few weeks of leaving, he was eating normally, and off insulin.

Anyone who drops their elderly off at this place Is simply cruel. French prairie should be shut down. Immediately. Its dirty, the staff dont care and are negligent, the facility itself looks like a homeless shelter, and the food is inedible. We took my grandma back home after only two days having witnessed the conditions. I mean, she was served dry and cold chicken nuggets and canned peas for dinner! They also forgot to give her the medication she needed for her cancer. I feel grief for all the elderly that are still living there. We found that one lady was not allowed to go outside! Not even with a staff member because they are all too busy being terrible at their jobs. Its a prison there. Save your loved ones by taking them anywhere but this place. My family and I will definitely be reporting the things we have witnessed.

The wait for meals can be very lengthy. rounding close to an hour or more. Some of the staff is very rude and rough with patients. Not to mention they have an employee who showed up to work not once, but twice under the influence of alcohol above legal limit and has a suspended license. The administrator seems nice enough when you need certain things, but when complaints are made about staff or meal service, nothing is changed. One of the older nurses has hardly any bedside manner and seems very cold. The therapy department is wonderful and very light-hearted as about the only positive. I would only recommend the therapy department. There are good nurses there, but not enough of them and the lack of communication that seems to be present in the management and undermanagement (I.E. nurses) can be down right appalling.

Horrible! My father was in french Prairie Nursing Home in Woodburn, OR. at 601 Evergreen Rd. My father was very weak do to a heart problem, when needing to use the restroom needed help. It took 12 min. one time and 30 min. another time, with staff saying we have to many patients to care for. They obviously did not help him, family did. When he was slumped down in his bed, three different people arrived in the room saying it wasnt their job to help him and left. When the lady came whom it was her job, she said "it will hurt my back to help him and left. If you care about your loved ones do not put them in French Prairie! My brother in law has spent every night with him so our family will know Dad has care. We are getting him out of there as soon as we can!

I dont think these reviews are fair. They are very kind people and human beings like the people they are helping to rest.
