Im giving this place 2 stars because of my discomfort in attempting to get the lasik procedure; NOT because of the institution itself or its staff. The staff are incredibly sweet and very knowledgeable about their craft. Unfortunately, my procedure didnt go as planned. First of all, your consultation visit will be about 2 hours of tests to make sure youre eligible for the procedure; very important. On the day of your surgery you should expect to spend anywhere from 2-4 hours in the office. The actual surgery is only 20 min, or so Im told. Dr. Cho, who is a very thorough doctor, did a quick exam before I went back for surgery. I went back and met an incredibly kind man who was the surgeon. He gave me a teddy bear to hold and put on some soft music to create a calming atmosphere. The procedure begins and he propped my eye lid open with some stickers and there was an extremely bright light in my face. My eye immediately wanted to close but it couldnt! Then there was some poking on my eyeball which I couldnt feel because of the numbing drops, then there was some pressure on my eye ball and suddenly everything went black, which he told me would happen. While all of this was happening to my poor eye, it kept trying to involuntarily close and blink as a natural defense as the eye is supposed to do. Suddenly, the surgeon starts to wipe my eye ball with what appears to be a gauze and Im seeing blood on it! Next thing I knew, it was over. The surgeon told me that he couldnt proceed with the procedure because my eye muscle kept contracting and it loosened the suction. He explained to me that if he would have continued, he could have harmed me and he didnt want to. I immediately started to cry! I felt like such a waste of time had occurred! I went through all of this and...im going to go home with my glasses??? I was greatful that the surgeon cared enough about me not to continue. He offered me to come back in a few months to get PRK which is supposed to be less invasive but has a longer recovery period and is slightly more uncomfortable; just slightly. I have to sleep on it because after this experience, Im not sure I like anyone messing with my eyes. I wish they could put me to sleep and do the lasik but I doubt thats an option. I bought this service through Groupon and am in the process of getting a full refund. Now my eye is slightly burning and it feels like theres something in it but I will do as Im told and put the $60 drops in my eye and continue to keep it closed for 4 hours. So sad. Dr. Cho said that my experience is very rare. Oh well, I tried! Back to glasses for a little while then maybe I will try again with these people. I do like them!

Getting Lasik Surgery performed at the lasik vision institute in Bala Cynwyd was an incredible life changing experience. The Doctors and staff are very knowledgeable about all aspects of the eye. The patient care that they displayed was a priority and theirs was unbeatable! The Doctors and staff that assisted me, were Dr. Cho , Rebecca and the performing surgeron Dr Barry N. Wasserman Rebecca, who also had lasik done is the one who provided me with the free consultation. They do a thourough eye exam that ranges from your eye sight to the thickness of your cornea. The exams are very easy. Rebecca was able to answer all the questions and more that I had concerning the surgery. After your exam you meet with Dr.Cho who will review your records, and determine the best method that fits your needs. Dr. Cho hands down is the one of the best doctors i have ever encountered. Her patient care, professionalism, honesty and detailed knowledge of not only lasik but the eye in general is one of the main reasons why I highly reccommend you go visit. She will be with you from the start to finish with any questions and concerns you may have. Additionally she will provide you with key advice that will help you through the procedure and recovery! Barry N. Wasserman was my performing surgeon, he was recommended by Dr. Cho to be the one that performs the lasik eye surgery on me. It was an incredible choice because Dr Wasserman has performed over 12,000 lasik procedures and works for the prestigious Wills eye hospital. Having a surgeon with experience is and was the most important deciding factor for going through with this procedure and The LASIK Vision instiute provided one of the best! My procedure took less than 15 minutes. When you first walk into the room they give you a teddy bear to hold ( it helps ), and they will tell you to lay on the table. The doctor has the natural ability to keep you entertained / distracted through the procedure. Because you are distracted / entertained the procedure goes by much quicker! Overall I highly recommend you visit the LASIK vision institute if you are considering improving your vision. It will change your life and in my opinion I wouldnt want any other people but this staff to work on my eyes. A+++ - Matthew 2/11/2016

All I can say about LVI and the employees at Bala Cynwyd is WOW!!! What an incredible experience. Every staff member was extremely professional, kind, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout every step of the process. I honestly could not have asked for a better experience. Ms. Rebekah was always joyful and really welcoming at each of my appointments from start to finish. Dr. Parekh executed the procedure flawlessly and really made me comfortable while I was under his care. And Dr. Cho absolutely could not have been anymore helpful throughout the process. She answered every single one of my questions in detail and ensured that I was absolutely comfortable with EVERYTHING before moving forward with anything. I was extremely nervous about the procedure when first considering LASIK, but after my first appointment I scheduled my operation date without hesitation! I was nearsighted (-1.75/-1.25) with astigmatism in BOTH eyes. Now, 4 months after the procedure I am 20/10 and could not be happier! The staff was also extremely helpful with working around my busy schedule and making sure each appointment was most convenient for me. My expectations have been far exceeded and I would recommend this facility to any and everyone, family included. If you are even considering LASIK dont hesitate to come here for a free consultation and I can promise you will not regret it. Thank you so much LVI for making this one of the best experiences possible and freeing me from the hassle of contact lenses and glasses! I would give 10 stars if I could!

I had a awesome experience at the LASIK Vision Institute. Scheduling the pre-op consultation was easy and convenient. During the consultation it was suggested I get the custom LASIK procedure. Its more money that the traditional, however, in my opinion its definitely worth it. No pressure was applied, I never felt as if they were trying to up-sale, simply offering another option. I took a night to think about it, and decided to do the custom LASIK procedure. The day of my procedure came, and everything went well. The surgery itself is very quick. I was in the operating room for under 10 minutes. After it was completed I experienced some pain and discomfort which is normal. After I got home and took a nap I had very little pain and was able to see clearly. The next days post-op visit I had 20/20 vision, and was able to drive without any problems. The staff were great, and it was encouraging that one of the staff members had the procedure performed for herself, as she was able to give first-hand experience. Dr. Choi was very kind, and explained everything very thoroughly, and answered all my questions. I just concluded my 3 month follow-up. I have no problems. My vision is excellent, and I sometimes forget that I used to wear glasses and contact. My vision has improved and I now have 20/15 eyesight.
