From my experience, I feel that all the reviews on google are probably fake and made up by the staff that works there. History: I have been going to this office for about 2 years. I found this office on google map because it was close to me and the reviews on it was pretty good. Over the course of two years I have been having issue. Ex. going for a filling end up with a root canal. A year before this office I had no cavities, after coming to this office they said I have 6 different cavities. I had them treated from this office. During the day of the filling I was supposed to get two filled, but the dentist discover another one. They said I should get it done also, so I did. Dentist/Office Issue: I had a cavity filled the dentist said it would take about 3-4 months to heal. 5 months later I came back to the office saying that the tooth that they filled was still bothering me. So I came into the office, the dentist took x-ray and looked at it. He said there are swelling around that tooth and said I needed a root canal to relieve the pain. I decided at that moment that I no longer wanted to go to them anymore and opt out of the root canal. After checking out, the general manager, Michelle said I had to pay $120 for the checkup. I was trying to explain to her that the checkup was basically a follow up the work that was done, but she threaten to send my payment to collections if I dont pay it. So with no choice, I had to pay for it and asked for a history with all my x-rays so I can move to a different office. Insurance Issue: At the same time they have been quoting my insurance for the work they also gave me an amount that I have to pay before the work and I did. Later on, I logged onto my insurance website and found out they are quoting me a lot more than how much I should have paid out of pocket. For some reason I have a balance on my account of more than $2,000. I have paid every amount that they bill me for, and my insurance had submitted all the amount they posted. Lesson: I have gave this office multiple chances because it was closest to my house, also they had all my dental history. The lesson is dont think like that, I should have switched office when I had the chance before.

My experience started out well with several appointments to have new fillings put in. I didnt experience any problems until my root canal. First, the dentist argued with me because I told him I was allergic to acetaminophen and he gave me a medicine containing this. I asked the pharmacist and she verified that I was allergic to this med as well as the antibiotic he prescribed with it. He either did not read my chart or does not know what medicines he is prescribing. Apparently, he never read that I was anemic in my chart either and let me bleed for about half an hour drowning in my own blood when I went in for the crown on the root canal. My gums never healed right after that and I experience constant pain in that tooth now even though it shouldnt have any nerves. I switched to another dentist at this same practice who convinced me to have my wisdom teeth taken out. I took 5 days off from work to recover because I knew they would not give me pain medicine after the root canal fiasco. This dentist argued with me and told me that he could only remove one of the teeth on the day of the appointment. I made it clear that I could not take another 5 days off from work so he needed to take out both teeth and he reluctantly agreed to do so. Next, they repeatedly billed me for the extraction of these teeth even after I called with the insurance company on the line to verify with their office that they had already been paid. My overall experience was a complete nightmare. *** As a side note*** I agree that the staff must have come on here to post most of the positive reviews. If you go to ANY other site and check the reviews, Emmert only has one star if any. Dont be fooled by these crooks. Google Emmert Dental Reviews to get the real story! ** Finally got the root canal redone by a different dentist years later. As it turns out, Dr. Carnivelli [sp] didnt take care of ALL of the roots/nerves. He missed one which was the source of my pain. **

Horrible horrible experience for myself, a family member and two friends!!! 1. They can always take you within 1-2 days...how many doctors can do that? those with not enough patients 2. There are 2 dentists: a heavier one, very gentle but tells you that you need far more work than you actually do and the other one, with longer hair...hes a prick that I would not hire to cut my grass due to his attitude, hes too busy flirting with the lady at the front desk and asking you stupid questions with a tone, as if your presence there interferes with his schedule. Myself and 3 people I know were recommended root canals (no pain, no nothing). We all got a second opinion and guess what...fillings were sufficient and in my case it was not even a deep cavity. 3. Look at the reviews that they got here! Click on the names of the individual reviewers and you can see the most recent reviews. They all review the same places (emmert, an indian place, a car dealership). They either have employees or paid individuals write reviews, just like many other businesses do. I should have done more digging before going in due to the positive reviews. 4. The front desk ladies are horrible: when they call you, you need to ask who is calling and they say "Emmert" with a tone, when I asked for my files to be transferred they said 48 ours and it took 6 days and they always have an attitude (maybe not all of them, I have only interacted with 2) I am rarely so upset about anything, but when you tell me, a family member and 2 friends that I need root canals and crowns (=my money) and another dentist does a simple filling and that is it, I tend to be upset. And its not even about the money, it is about destroying my teeth. Personally I am sending a letter to my insurance carrier, although it will not make a difference probably/.

This place is a joke. They will bill you for services not provided (normally unseen because it goes to insurance for payment. There was a billing issue with my insurance for wisdom teeth that allowed me to see over $1,000 of "procedures" not performed), then provide nebulous responses like "oh thats common" without any description when asked what the listed procedure was. They wont provide you with access to your own records and will only send them to another dental office (not sure why I shouldnt be allowed to access my own records. Pretty sure there are even laws about that, investigating further). They will provide you with such a high level of general incompetence that you will at worst assume there is something nefarious occurring or at best will leave you confident they are unable to perform basic tasks. I would STRONGLY recommend going anywhere else (including but not limited to a neighbor with a steady hand for surgery, a compact mirror from under your sink for a check-up, and your local bookie for billing). You may not get exactly what you want somewhere else but at least you may not be shocked by the ridiculous incompetence exhibited. Hopefully they will release my records to me soon so I will never have to walk through those doors again. I let it go when I had the procedure done because it took so long to reach resolution, but now its all been brought back to the forefront of my memory. Dont put yourself through the same things I have. Its not too late for you.
