Our family sent my sister and my 8-year-old niece here because she had a fever that has been unresponsive to fever-inhibiting medication (staying above 102 and spiking at 104+ for 24 hours). I told her to go here instead of Chester County Hospitals ER, because it was CHOP... And they are the best, plus since its an urgent care center, shed be in good hands to be diagnosed conclusively, faster than at the ER. (Her on-call pediatrician suspected the Flu). The doctor at CHOP-KOP initially said theyd test for strep and the flu, but when they didnt test for the flu, and my sister asked when they were doing the flu test, the doctor said, "oh, what a minute, you want that done?" She then opened the exam room door and asked the nurse if they have the stuff to do flu testing, and thats when they learned, apparently they dont test for the Flu there. What kind of urgent care, let alone one associated with one of the best hospitals for children in the country, doesnt do a flu test??!! Yea, I know there are different types of flu tests, but if CVS minute clinics can diagnose flu, why cant a world-renowned pediatric urgent care facility?! I wish I had seen the other poor Google reviews first or that I hadnt blindly trusted the CHOP "brand reputation" and sent my sister and niece out of their way when Chester County Hospitals ER was closer and evidently a far better choice. What a waste! Based on this, Id say even if you think it will be a longer wait time, still go to your local ER and not here. At least your wait will yield true results in your childs care and diagnosis. (Date of visit: evening of 11/26/2016)

This was the worst care and experience I ever have received. From the moment we walked in the door the receptionist told me to find a kiosk to log into because she was eating a candy bar and couldnt help me. We waited over an hour and when my daughter was called back the nurse was rude and barely spoke. The doctor seemed to be rushed and unable to answer my questions and just wanted us to perform more invasive tests when he already had test and lab results that were just done only because he wanted to bill us for more untra sounds etc. he was unable to speak to my daughter in simple terms and clearly did not have good bed side manner or the ability to work with children. When we checked out the woman at the check out desk said there were too many different kinds of doctors there and she was unable to keep track of which doctor we had seen or process our paper work or even know his schedule! This is an incredibly poorly ran establishment, very unprofessional and unfriendly and the worst place to take a child. To think this is CHOP is a discrace! Stay clear from this facility and the doctors in it!

Our daughter had an ear full of dried blood and they were going to make her wait 1.5 months at dr. Sobels to get her seen. Antoinette his assistant wasnt particularly helpful in this so we went to DuPont which so far has been great. Last year at chop she had a procedure and we felt like just a number it was very impersonal. They rushed is out of recovery in 15 minutes. Dr. Sobel was always taking vacation when we needed them also and they didnt try to get us in with another doctor. On her follow ups we never saw the dr either, they sent a resident which after awhile makes you feel like no ones really monitoring your child. I think thats a perception item but it would be nice to see a dr more than once per year. Travis and the other residents were great with her. The new office staff were nice. The main reception guy at the Mall Blvd location stunk.

Our one week old infant was having trouble feeding so we made an appointment with the CHOP ENT to perform a small procedure on his tongue. They cancelled our appointment without notifying us, refused to hold the bills for a few days until he could be added to our insurance, and refused to reimburse us if we paid out of pocket up front, even if our insurance paid them for the procedure retroactively (so they could double dip). We ended up scheduling the procedure at Lankenau Medical Center, who politely scheduled an appointment right away, worked with our insurance company, and also quoted an out of pocket price that was 1/3 of the cost of what CHOP charges. Dont go here, they care more about getting paid than caring for your child and are happy to let newborns starve until they need to go to the ER.

Ive been trying to get an appointment for my son, who is autistic, since shortly after his first birthday. He is now three. The online tool for appointment requests yields no results. When calling, the automated options are convoluted and too long, and the office staff deeply incompetent. Ive been promised the "new patient" email packet three times and have yet to receive it - its not in my spam folder and the address has been provided correctly, but its still not forthcoming. Our primary care pediatrician is also a CHOP office and I have no issues with them - the wait is sometimes unduly long but the care is worth it. But this is ridiculous. No one should have to wait two years to make a necessary appointment. Handle your business.

The care was great. Waited 30+ minutes, but still good care. Only 2 stars though because they charge you 5x what you would way anywhere else. They have to pay for the really nice building somehow... My son broke his foot, so we came to CHOP in KOP after our pediatrician referred us. Only spent 20 minutes with the doctor. Bill total for that one appointment came in at $1,870! After our insurrance, the total was reduced to $1,232.28. This is insane for 20 minutes(maybe 30 minutes if he looked at the chart afterwards). This bill doesnt even cover the boot and the cost to strap the Velcro on. I would not recommend CHOP to anyone based on the cost. Again, care was great, but seriously $1,232.28 for 20 minutes is insane!!!

Most of the Drs here pass your child through like chopped liver. Quick & dirty, make more $. One star to the one good Dr In EC. my son had a concussion, had buldging C4,5, 6 from the accident, initially CHOP doc would not even look at his neck, nurse refused to acknowledge it even though it was red. My son couldn t turn his head to the right & instead of having an MRI done, another CHOP Doc said it was " emotionally displaced trauma". Switched to Nemours. Got MRIs. confirmed disc issues. Shame my child was in pain for so long with the ChOP recommendation to go back fully into activities with minor breaks as needed .. Worsened his condition.

Great people, grossly understaffed. Waited over 4 hours to be seen! Care was worth it, but the wait on my kid was horrible plus I was 6 MO the pregnant! He fell asleep thank goodness... but we checked in at 7:50pm and got discharged at 12:35...UGH so frustrated! Come on CHOP get it together! A huge facility in the burbs HAS to be FULLY staffed!! There were almost 20 people ahead of us PLUS a full waiting room!! I love CHOP, but this experience was not fun. At all. 3 stars bc the care at CHOP is unmatchable. .but the wait rating would be negative 10!
