This rating is for Scranton Primary Dental, the low ratings had me a little scared to even call and make an appointment with them but Im SO VERY happy I did and I will continue. I honestly DO NOT KNOW why they have such a low rating because in all honesty Id give them a ten star, if it would go that high. I was very satisfied with the way the ladies treated me. Dr Schaefer, Laura and Rita were all very kind, respectful, helpful, joyful and made me feel right at home and comfortable.. They went above and beyond and took time to explain different denture options I could choose from and she even complemented my smile and explained to me that I could keep my beautiful smile that I thought Id just have to get pulled even though Ill have a whooping 12 teeth that I should be able to save of my own because mind you I could only chew with my front teeth for over a year.. Nobody knows my She told me that she will make sure I dont lose my beautiful smile and She assured that once my OBGYN at Scranton Primary (same building appt is towards the end of this month) gives me a letter for permission to proceed with whatever work I need done just so my unborn child and I are doing well and its safe. She will make sure I am taken care of and I will still have MY own beautiful smile.. Please DO NOT listen to the ratings below. This is just my opinion but maybe those people just didnt like that they didnt get exactly what they wanted, when they wanted it. People are so selfish at times and even when they are respected by others like the WONDERFUL Women (Im sure the Men staff are just as WONDERFUL). So say someone is medication seeking and the Drs refuse to give them a narcotic. That patient is going to talk down on that place and its sad because I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND making an appointment with them and I PROMISE you, you will NOT regret it...

I started going there and seeing the PA Amy and at first she was very nice and caring and answered all my question that I asked her.She refilled all my meds at first visit with no hassles.I explained to her that before I was able to get my appointment with her I was at the emergency rooms slot due to very bad migraines and back pain so that way if and when she looked at my past prescription list and saw many different DRs names they were ER DRs from CMC hospital there in Scranton and so she continued to refill all my meds and pain meds. Well one day I go to refill my pain meds and I get told by the pharmacist that he cant refill them due to me having all these different DRs names that refilled them in the past,he said he was calling my Dr PA Amy so I thought OK there will be no problem due to me explaining the situation already to her,but HOW I WAS WRONG!!!!! Amy told the pharmacist to keep the prescription and dont fill it then got on the phone with me told me that Scranton Primary DRs can no longer except me as a patient due to me having so many different DRs filling my meds and that I was MEDICATION SEEKING and I needed HELP and they no longer wanted me as a patient. OK I was fine with that until I went found a new DR and had my records sent over to him and AMY called my new DR and tells him not to give me no type or narcotics nor anykind of pain medicine period. So now I deal with my pain everyday while I cook clean and take care of my 6 children between the ages of 11 yrs old my oldest and 16 months old my youngest. My husband works 12+ hrs a day 6 sometimes 7 days a week. But I do it cause my children need me and I would never let a DR put me down and keep me down. Thank you for listening to my story!!!

This Facility is not worth even 1 star. When we moved to Scranton I was looking for Pediatrics for my child and out of many offices I called only Scranton Primary were accepting new patients at that time. So I enrolled.... the doctors and medical stuff are good there, but the front desk is horrible, they just hate people. they never pick up the phones because they chatting with friends. There is a lot of non-speaking english patients there but that is not a reason to ignore them completely!!!! I stayed there 2 years only because of a wonderful nurse practitioner who was my childs provider. but when she left this practice I decided to leave too. theyre apoinments times are 3 months!!!! and you will be calling 5 times until they will finally set it up. usually you should schedule next physical the same say you have current one, but when you will ask about that they will say someone will call you dont wait! nobody will call you. also you have to be very carefull about apointmens during the winter. that was my real situation: I was waiting for my childs january apointment 3 months but few hours before it they called me and said that the doctor cant make it and they rescheduled my apointment for march!!!! what the hell is that!!! so If you have a choice dont go there!!!!!!!!!

Me and my girlfriend walked in there for an appointment. We didnt know that they were closed due to a pipe breaking. We were let in and found ourselves needing directions. Unbeknownst to us what was going on. We were at the dental department, so we decided to ask someone in that department. It was like a black man had walked into a kkk meeting. The staff kept on shouting at us. All 10 of them at once. We tried to explain that we didnt know and that we had an appointment. They wouldnt let us talk. Im not kidding when I say that it was like walking into a kkk meeting. The hostility was palpable. Even when we left, they were still shouting at us. They were the ruddest staff that I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. Im not going back there. I wouldnt of minded if they calmly said that they were closed. But you dont have to make feel like Im being attacked for something that I didnt know about. We were let in. Nobody told us that they were closed. This was during normal Buisness hours. What else were we to think?

Luckily I am not a patient here. I accompanied my friend who is a patient and we were sitting at the desk getting checked in and the girl was asking usual questions such as insurance, phone number, etc. All of a sudden the girl burst out laughing "HAHAHAH" We both gave her a look. She said, "Oh Im sorry Im not laughing at you, I was just laughing at a text I got." My friend is too nice and didnt say anything but if I was the patient I would have told the girl how UNPROFESSIONAL it is to be on your PHONE while dealing with A PATIENT. She couldnt wait a minute or 2 until we were done? Again, luckily I am not a patient here.
