Intersting that the December 12th rater doest have a name.... Could this be an Embassy Dental employee? I had a very similiar experience as those listed below. I wish I would have read the reviews prior to going. I went last year and spent an hour and a half getting xrays and being told about adult braces. My teeth did not get cleaned and then I was told that I had inflamed gums and would need $300 worth of antibiotics and also that I would need to have cavities filled. I hadnt been to a dentist in years and so I thought it seemed possible but I was upset that they never did clean my teeth and so out of principle I didnt go back. Earlier this week a friend of mine was talking to me about an awful dental experience. He said he went in and didnt get his teeth cleaned either and on top of that was told he needed three crowns! Turns out he went to Embassy Dental too! He made an appt with a dentist on Belcourt Ave, Dr. Robert Foster, and was given the advice of having three fillings. He went from thinking he needed three crowns to three fillings!!! I decided to try Foster too and came back with a clean bill. Nothing wrong, and that was a year after visiting Embassy when things should have only gotten worse! Embassy Dental is a complete rip off. I have never experienced such a horrible dental practice. They need to be put out of business.

Stay Away! I cant speak for the company as a whole as I have only been to this office location, however, if you are looking for a reliable, honest dentist I would avoid coming here at all costs. I was with this office for approximately one year and saw on multiple occassions how they try to over-sell unneccessary services and products, while at times being completely dishonest. It starts off with "little" things - like your first appointment they require 2 separate visits, one for an initial exam then a second for the actual cleaning. What a waste of time and money. Other things include trying to sell me some fluoride treatment (which according to the medical literature is not beneficial for anyone over 18 years of age with regular dental care - i.e. brushing and flossing). I finally had enough when they tried convincing me I needed a root canal and crown (costing over $1000 out of pocket, plus whatever my insurance covered), which was completely unnecessary. As many others have posted, they are very much con artists and will try to "scare" you into paying for extra services (root canals, crowns, special fluoride treatments, etc) just to make more money. Do yourself and your family a huge favor by looking elsewhere for your dental needs. One star is the lowest rating available here, but this place deserves much less.

I have been a patient at Embassy for a couple of years. The staff as a whole offers a warm greetings followed by a smile. I always feel important, like I matter. I love Dr. Van and I love my hygienist. They are both very personable. Embassy offers a variety of services which minimizes the need to find additional doctors for specialized oral needs. Recently, Embassy has gone with an appointment reminder via text message...which I love. I dont have to fear forgetting an appointment and these reminders have actual kept me from forgetting completely. I love the reminder system. On the financial end of the spectrum...it is advisable prior to agreeing to any extensive dental work, to get a second opinion. This is just smart financial sense for anything pertaining to the human body. While Embassys intentions are good, a second opinion can very well save a patient $1000s of dollars for dental work that can possibly be done differently and for less money. I do believe you get what you pay for. I also believe that Embassys goal is to present a solution that will provide lasting endurance beyond what other dentist can provide. So, regarding what appears to be inflated costs for services, as a patient...the long term resolution has to be taken into consideration. Be smart and ask questions.

I should have read the other reviews before going. Very used car dealership feel. I pull up and the first thing I see is the dental hygienist outside smoking. Great. First, I have to go for a consultation prior to getting my teeth even cleaned. This consultation consisted of seeing 3 different people who all tried to push a million treatments on me just to get more money out me. After getting my 85 X-rays done, they tried to tell me I need to pay for a very expensive laser cleaning and fluoride treatment. Then, the next guy told me I need to come back every 3 months, so I dont get gingivitis. Mind you, Ive never even had a cavity in my life. Then I met the dentist, who looked at my teeth for 20 seconds and told me I have two cavities, which I do not even have any pain and show no symptoms of a cavity. After, pushing me with every way they could get money out of me, the took me to their "benefit counselor," who walked me through if I were to complete all their extra treatments, it would just cost me an extra $500. After I said no to everything, she looked/spoke to me in disgust like I was an idiot. I should have read the reviews prior to going, as it appears this has happened to a lot of people!

Ultimately, Dr. Keith Benthuysen located at the Brentwood, TN location was absolutely fabulous. No pain!!! The doctor explained every procedure he conducted with updates along the way. I went in for an extraction and a root canal. It was my very first time having dental work of this nature. I arrived nervous, but the doctors staff, especially two lovely ladies that greeted me in the front and the young lady that assisted the doctor with my procedure, made me feel right at home. I felt as if I knew the doctor and his staff all my life. It was just an incredible experience, and I would recommend anyone who is nervous or first timer to definitely consider this facility. Although I missed his call, Dr. Benthuysen called me and left a voicemail at home later that night to ask if I had any discomfort and if everything was okay. Amazing that he would take time out if his personal time to check on a client of his. In whole, my overall experience at Embassy Dental with Dr. Benthuysen and his staff was extremely extravagant.

I dont usually go out of my way to write reviews or to send letters, but I felt particularly struck to do so now because the dentist I deal with in Brentwood is pretty much the best dentist I have ever worked with. Hes really great, especially for someone like me whos very scared of having dental work done and freak out the second the chair reclines. The dentist is like half psychologist, but seriously, a true professional and very smart in the field. I went to the office for a visit and was immediately made to feel welcome by the secretary staff at the front desk, and then the other staff. The dentist talked to me throughout the procedure and kept me in the know about what was going on, and also made me laugh. But not in an uncomfortable way, like laughing with hands in your mouth. So I had my cavities filled, and I was okay during the whole thing. I have a couple more to do, he didnt want to do them all at once, so Ill、l be back!
