The short:There are way better facilities to go to. This place is terribly managed, is understaffed with incompetent employees, incompetently low security, borderline illegal safty and malpractice medicine. The long: The facility is managed poorly because staff are allowed to be unprofessional and poorly suited for the job. Management is incapable of firing incompetent staff because they barely have enough to run the program. They also have very relaxed rules and regulations on clients and staff which makes the whole thing a circus. The staff are unqualified, incompetent, unprofessional and uneducated. Staff are fraternizing with clients and allowing the clients to run wild. The staff although mostly nice people are spread thin and lack responsibility. The staff talk badly about clients to other clients, break rules, are not willing to be understanding, and they will make prejudice ideas about clients if they do not follow their ideals. Two clients had suffered serious injury while playing counciler lead games. These games did not take into account for unhealthy lifestyles of patients or their physical abilities.The medical staff over medicates when weaning patients off drugs in such a way that if you do not stay for the full month you will be released before they are completely weaned. The medical staff also does not listen to legitimate medical concerns nor do they listen to claims of nondrug related illness. The staff also play favorites and allow rules like no electronics to be broken, which violated HIPPA law and will break various other rules. my counciler was Steve Lepley and he was very very ignorant and resentful of my happy attitude. He would state "It is ok to take drug from a doctor even if it was youre problem drug as long as it was as perscribed." this is not a true and can cause relapse. Steve Lesley also stated that I was not to complete the program because I did not take it seriously, this is because I have a happy attitude and I try to be positive. The security is non existance, paraphernalia was smuggled in constantly and distributed to patient each time. The patient are allowed to carry cash which makes it possible for them to buy drugs that have been checked or discreetly brought in. There where also multiple cases of items being stolen because there are no lockers and patients can easily break into the living quarters (by watching staff use key pad lock for the combination numbers or they have been told by staff because the staff lack security compentence)during therapy times and steal. There are no lockers, no place to secure items and the staff had no way of watching activity sufficiently or properly. there where a lack of surveillance cameras to prove theft, violence or sexual activity. The safety of patience staff and property is practically non existant. There is a lake yet not a single emergency equipment to help drowning victims, there is not. Suicidal patients are not properly observed, counciled nor madicated, a disaster waiting to happen for many withdrawing patients become semisuicidal and can act on that because of negative feelings and environments. Patients break legs because they have had in some cases decades of inactivity and or malnutrition and they are put under stress by competitive program activities like kickball. Some have seizures then fall because lack of proper amount of medications. One very nice and kind man had a manic psychotic episode because the medical team refused to give him his physician perscribed medicines, he fortunately did not attack and hurt see one, but he was VERY strong (i worked oit woth him) and during his episodethrew chairs broke many items before being calming down and counciled by fellow friends (patients), the councilers could not do that. Im unable to write more because I have forgotten most safty issues. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! -5 ON A SCALE OF ONE TO 5.

Let me start off by saying this: I called there on 11/01/2016 to get help. I was not court-ordered there, I volunteered myself there because I was desperate. I spoke to Lori in admissions. I was driving over an hour from my house to get to this place and got lost in Dickson. I had no idea where Burns was. Never been there. While on the phone with Lori, she tells me to pull into the Kroger parking lot and someone will come get me and bring me to the rehab. I had 2% battery left on my phone and couldnt use GPS. I was NOT drinking and driving!!! While sitting there waiting, I decided to go inside Kroger and purchase a 6 pack to chug while I waited; after all, this was going to be my last drink. Well, the cops show up instead of transportation from Mirror Lake. I explained to them the situation and that I was not drinking and driving, and that I purposely took the keys out of the ignition because I had NO plans of driving, just sitting there waiting on my ride. Well, they arrest me and charge me with a DUI. When I went to court for this, it turned out that LORI WAS THE ONE WHO CALLED THE COPS!! This is the same person who reassured me that someone from rehab was going to pick me up to safety and I could begin my new life. At a time of being at my lowest, I was kicked while I was down at the bottom of the barrel. When I was asking and pleading for help because I knew I needed it, when I put my trust in this woman for comfort and assistance... she couldnt have made me feel more BETRAYED than anything else. She acted innocent and apologetic when I asked to speak to her at the rehab, thinking she had no idea what happened. Well, she LIED TO ME!! So, thank you LORI for your part in RUINING MY LIFE!!! The "head honcho" John is a rude hothead. His overall personality is more of a corrections officer barking orders at clients with his nose stuck in the air. When another client and I were being discharged the same day, he would not let her leave with me in my car because it was "against company policy." She was from out of state and had no other means of transportation. I had my DL, which was valid, and my car was sitting right there in the parking lot ready to go. What was she supposed to do? Made no sense. Aside from that, the counselors and tech are great, helpful and down to earth. BIG SHOUT OUT TO KAITLYN! She is a God sent angel who truly cares about the clients there. I have been sober since my new birth date 11/02/2016. Thank you! - Heather C.

The administration of this facility is very unprofessional and rude, especially Lynn and then make shift security officer. We admitted my husband on a Monday night for approved 5 day stay , took off work for those days. I was told he would receive every message I left. Well out of the 15 he received two. Every time I called I was advised he was participating in group, therapy etc. He did 0 groups, he has his sheet showing what he did and group was not listed once. Spoke with a Chris twice Friday for discharge and time I would arrive. All was well until about hour prior and I received a call saying he was leaving against medical advice and needed to stay until Monday. Seems they got an additional 3 days approved and decided to use a scare/bully tactic to try make him start. I was not going to be bullied by these people and advised he will be going home. When I arrived Lynn with her snotty attitude was present. Telling me irrelevant comments that was made about my husband wanting to come home today, which shouldnt be a factor considering he was leaving on this day. They wouldnt give him his car keys or phone saying locked up cant get until Monday. However, when we left him there at 9 pm at night this same women had those keys to lock up his things. I informed her I would be filing complaint with his insurance as she laughed and said go ahead you wont win. All of this conversation was recorded on my iPhone. I had hit the record button and it was in my purse. So I would love to see this conversation denied by anyone at this establishments. I will be giving all my information to my insurance Monday morning.
