Ive never met a doctor with more lack of compassion than Dr. Aquino and one of her team members Brandi L. Wilkerson. It was clear that she was trained by Dr. Aquino because she and Dr. Aquino were always rude to me, always. It came down to a point where I would avoid scheduling appointments during times that Dr. Aquino was in the office. I have a 6-year old who saw Dr. Aquino until she was 5 1/2 who is disabled, and it was like Dr. Aquino could care less. Im a young mom, I get it, but talk to me, Im in the room and I understand! We have multiple doctors at Vanderbilt and none of them treat me like Im incompetent. I have taken care of her from day 1, and I would leave Dr, Aquinos office feeling like a failure every time. Until my daughters private duty nurses and family started to go to doctors appointments with me to see if I was the crazy one. Everyone that went with me, could not believe how rude she was. She would ask me a question, and then cut me off mid sentence. She saw her for 5 1/2 years and could not remember a thing about her every time we went even seeing her at least one time a month. She even made the smart comment to my mom, Oh wheres super mom today, in her typical condescending tone. Mom responded, "Shes a single mom raising a disabled daughter in school full time with two jobs, so I took over today!" I had my 1 year old in January and took that opportunity to RUN from Aquino Pediatrics. They asked me, "Do you you want her to have the same doctor as your daughter now?" I was sure to respond as quickly as possible with "No, and you shouldnt send your children there either if you wanted to be treated like a human. They are knowledgeable in practice, but in standard bed side manner, totally lacking."

Both of my daughters went to this pediatricians office for 2 years and it was miserable. Demeaning, rude, no discretion between staff members (our business was that of the entire offices), treated us like criminals (my father drove us one day in an emergency, and the secretary asked to see his ID. He stated that he had left it at home in order to make haste.. and the woman lectured us explaining that she could call the police or tell on us to the doctor for not having a drivers licence.. which he had, just not on him. My 1.5 yr old was 2 points away from needing a blood transfusion, and that was NOT their priority, nor was reassurance that my child was in good hands), no staff member there has a shred of compassion, they assume the parent is to blame for everything (ex: they once questioned my daughter about sexual abuse because she had bruises on her legs that were typical of an outside kid. They wanted to call the police, but instead attempted to demean me in front of my child), no consideration for anyone elses schedule (I have had to wait up to 2 hours to be seen, with children that were screaming in pain from UTIs, vomiting, and diarrhea), the staff would often mean-mug me until I went in the room and shut the door (where we then waited another 2 hours to be seen). The list goes on. I am just genuinely happy that we moved from Clarksville and never have to go back. Now if I can just get her office to understand that we will NEVER be coming back.. and to stop calling asking if we want to make an appointment.. well be doing something! Which by the way- its been almost 2 yrs since we were last there.

So far I am enjoying my experience at Aquino Pediatrics. There have only been a few times that I have personally met with Dr. Aquino herself, and I can certainly see what some here are saying about her attitude towards other parents. It bothered me at first but now I just brush it off. The first time my wife and I came in, we certainly felt like we were bad parents after we left. Dr. Aquino made us a bit uncomfortable in her demeanor about our newborn childs temperature. I can understand the urgency and need to keep the baby warm, but to the extreme that Aquino was encouraging was odd to us. It later turned out that our baby would get sick after being bundled up like we had been advised. We stopped doing that and he felt much better. One thing that we learned later on is that not every baby is the same. We thought he would want to sleep with blankets when he got older because of the urgency of Dr. Aquino on this matter, but this was not the case. He seems to hate blankets and likes to sleep only in his diaper and kicks the blankets off when we lay them on him to tuck him in at night. In any case, this is a small issue. Other than this, I am enjoying my time with them and they are so super helpful. I love every one of the staff. I expect I will continue to come here for some time.

The doctor visit itself was not a horrible experience. My boys saw the nurse practitioner, Caitlin Allen. She was very friendly and attentive. We were there for a well check- up (or so I thought). I gave Caitlin background on my kids mainly my son with pdd-nos. Prior to moving my kids were in every therapy I could think of and it was helping them so of course I wanted to get back on track with that. BEWARE OF THE BILLING!!!! I know I have to meet my deductibles BUT this was a well check-up and all I was doing was giving my sons history to a person that doesn’t know him! This office billed my insurance not only for a well check-up but also a doctor visit. (For BOTH of my kids)! If I had known they were going to double dip, you bet I would have made separate appointments just to screw with their time and get my money’s worth. I have already spoken with Tricare south and immediately the lady told me to write an appeal because what this pediatricians office did was VERY unethical. I’m thankful for the referrals but I didn’t know it would literally cost me! Will not be back.

i agree with the negative reviews. dr. barbara aquino is very rude and disrespectful, almost verbally ABUSIVE. she makes you feel like you are not worthy of her presence and makes you feel like you are one inch tall. im sure she is smart and clinically sound, but her personality and bedside manners are horrible. her staff is great though. all of our kids (and parents) deserve better. we are people, you know. i suggest you go see dr. roads or dr. moore or any other pediatrician in town who will treat you like a person and not a bother.

I love this doctors office, the staff is amazing with both of my boys. I have never had a child that has liked his doctors office and says je wants to go and see the doctor everyday. Today i took my oldest (4 year old) to get some shot and they were amazing with him giving him high five and they were so impressed that he didnt even cry when he got his shots and he got 4 of them. I would recommend them to anyone
