Im relatively new to TX, coming from the NE, to retire. I happened upon this site, seeking directions to Dr. Manns office, as I needed to become an established patient in/around Bulverde. I was slightly intimidated by the reviews on this site, however, because of the close proximity, I decided to follow thru and make an appt. First call, first ring, the phone there was answered and my appt. made, in the time-frame I requested. (Never had to leave a voice mail or wait for someone NOT to return my call!). I was early, as requested, since I had new patient forms to complete. I was extremely impressed with the staff as well as the doctor. I went with a complaint list, wondering if Id have enough time to get into all of them - and I did! I was in there 90 minutes!!! Long time, right? Well, NOT if those 90 minutes were devoted to YOU and your "laundry list", as well as your medical history, along with a chuckle or two! The most current reviewer, prior to mine, is 4 mos. ago. Obviously, things have changed rather dramatically (if they were indeed ever that bad!). I went thru with this appt., with the attitude that I could seek another physician, should I not be pleased with this experience. I would like to think that, prior to putting something "out there," that could perhaps damage the reputation of this doctor and his staff, I wouldve pursued the issue a little more. Did the previous unhappy reviewer ask to speak to the person in charge, airing her grievances, perhaps giving an opportunity for her issues to be addressed and/or explained? Were they short-staffed that day? Was there an emergency, demanding "all hands on deck"? There are any number of explanations that could explain the accusations of the previous patient. OK, so maybe I hit a good day. Yes, its possible that a subsequent visit could turn into an unhappy event, but I would certainly ask some questions, before writing such a damaging review. Without a single doubt, I dare say the previous reviewer would NOT have been unhappy, if everyone of the doctors subsequent patients were spending their time, cooling their heels in the waiting room, because the doctor spend as much time with you as your required, instead of giving you the "bums rush"! I shall return! Have a wonderful day!

CRAP. HOW DID I GET HERE ON THIS "GOOGLE MESS" PAGE???? ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS "SHARE" MY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH DR. MICHAEL MANNS OFFICE/BULVERDE TX., AND MY EXPERIENCE WITH HIS OFFICE.....AND HIM???(WHO KNOWS"?) AS A PHYSICIAN ??? JUST DO NOT GO THERE, THATS ALL !!! I CANNOT SAY "HE" IS USELESS, BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER LAID EYES ON THE MAN SINCE I BECAME A PATIENT THERE.....AT LEAST 8 MONTHS AGO!! I ONLY SAW ONE P.A. NAMED STEVEN AND HE WAS GREAT, BUT HE IS GONE!!! I ACTUALLY HAD TO CALL MY INSURANCE COMPANY ....TO GET AN APPOINTMENT WITH THIS DOCTOR...BECAUSE THEY NEVER ANSWERED THE PHONE AND THEY NEVER RETURNED MY REQUEST...CALLS...AS A "NEW" FRIGGING PATIENT !!! FINALLY THE HUMANA INSURANCE REP. GOT THEM TO CALL ME....TO ACTUALLY GET MY "FIRST" APPOINTMENT WITH THEM!!! "THEY" THE ENTIRE OFFICE PERSONNEL JUST SIMPLY SUCK!!! THE LAST TIME I WAS ON THE PHONE W SOMEONE AND I ASKED...."IS THIS SHERRY?" (THE APPT. PERSON).... THE WOMAN HUNG UP ON ME, AFTER TOTAL SILENCE! UNBELIEVABLE !!! DR. M. MANNS OFFICE IS ON HWY 281 N. IN BULVERDE, AND IS THE "CLOSEST" DOCTOR TO WHERE I LIVE THAT TAKES MY INS. HE IS THE ONLY ONE OUT HERE WHO TAKES "HUMANA GOLD PLUS" MEDICARE INSURANCE!! DAMMIT !!! I WILL HAVE TO DRIVE TO NEW BRAUNFELS TO FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR, BUT I HAVE HAD IT WITH THIS "SO CALLED" FAMILY DOCTOR AND HIS STAFF, WHO (DOES HE EVEN KNOW????) NEVER, EVER, RETURNS YOUR CALLS.??? I HAVE RECORDS OF MY CALLS ON MY CELL TO THAT OFFICE! IT MAKES ME WONDER.??......... WAS THEIR PLAN IN THE FIRST PLACE, TO IGNORE CALLS AND MESSAGES, TO PUSH ME AND OTHERS TO GO TO ANOTHER DOCTOR!!! MAYBE HE JUST DOES NOT "NEED" OR WANT OUR BUSINESS??? NEVER, EVER, HAVE I HAD SUCH POOR SERVICE!!!! DO NOT BOTHER CALLING!! YOU WILL NEVER, NEVER, GET A LIVE PERSON ON THE PHONE!!! ONLY AN ANSWERING MACHINE TO LEAVE MESSAGES, THAT THEY WILL NEVER..NEVER...NEVER.... RESPOND TO!! THEY SIMPLY "SUCK" !!! I JUST CANNOT BELIEVE THERE ARE "DOCTORS" OUT THERE THAT ARE LIKE THIS! I have been a patient of Dr Manns for over 30 years ... heck, I was in the same fraternity with him at Trinity University in the 1970s... but I am very sad to say, although I believe Dr Mann and Charles one of the PAs there are really good in their practice ... the staff he has working for him AND HAS HAD FOR SEVERAL YEARS is so incredibly bad I doubt I will be going back. Several years ago I complained directly to Dr Mann and he assured me they were "aware and working on it ..." ... I dont go to the Dr often but I have many many friends "of my age - early 60s" ... that have gone to Dr Mann in the past but abandoned him because of the dismal staff he has... AS A RECENT EXAMPLE ... I called his main number ... naturally got the recording telling me to push a number (already bad service in my opinion - I want to talk to a person), left my information for a Rx and was told it would be handled in UP TO 48 hours ... waited well over 48 hours ... nothing ... WENT BY THE OFFICE and was directed by the "receptionist " to write my information on a memo slip and she would "LOOK FOR A NURSE" ... waited 15 minutes and NOTHING ... the waiting room was filling up ... it was clear it was going to be a while ... This is absurd ... if you are going to have a mechanized phone service that promises 48 hours, doesnt fulfill that commitment and then has a clueless receptionist that will "LOOK FOR A NURSE" and then have no response after going to the trouble to go into the office ... VERY POOR STAFF WORK! Further ... the fact that they TURN OFF THE PHONES between noon and 2PM and NO ONE EVEN A MACHINE ANSWERS is beyond the pale ... clearly they dont care about their patients ... Mike --- its really sad to see ... BTW ... I used TELADOC and got a response inside of 10 minutes and the prescription for scopolomine at the pharmacy in less than 30 minutes ...maybe you should check out their customer service and staffing ...

Ive only been there once. We are changing my sons PCP. But from the visit and the follow up I needed from them on some paper work, they were excellent. I dont know if staff has changed, but some of the comments about them being cold was not my experience. The receptionist Amber was great as resolving an insurance mess up by the ins. company for registration. I thought we might have to pay the full amount of the visit and then get reimbursed, but Amber and the billing dept did not give up and resolved it before we seen the Phys Assit. He was also great. Then when I needed a different document, the nurse and PA handled it straight away with no extra charges. Too often, my experiences with office staff has been dismal. Most Doctor offices staff are incompetent and let things fall through the cracks. But not here. I cant say what the future is going to be like, but for now I am very happy with them.
