Extremely BAD hospital. I am a Registered Nurse and have been a patient both through the ER and as inpatient. Not only was I misdiagnosed both ER visits, but had surgery at this hospital that was so done horribly wrong that I needed three surgeries at another hospital for what this place did incorrectly. I had a severe infection as well and needed IV antibiotics for two weeks as an inpatient. The ER is the worst I have even been in as a patient and as and an employee. Its dirty, and staff really dont care what your problems are. The initial screening for the ER is a dangerous system they have set up, they DO NOT adequately assess you when you first arrive and do not prioritize according to severity of injury or illness. And by all means dont be in pain when you go to this hospital because they automatically assume everyone is seeking drugs and those who are truly in pain suffer. As an inpatient on the floor during my stay I was burning with a fever and couldnt get the nurse to get me even tylenol, the two times she came into my room I felt like she was very angry that I interrupted whatever she was doing prior( Im assuming not much). She was extremely overwieght which usually does not affect most overweight nurses from doing their job. But when you can barely breathe and your huffing and puffy just from walking to my room, its time to do something about it. My bed controls did not work so I asked the nurse the second time to let someone know to come fix it (mind you I am extremely ill, and could barely lift my head up without help), she was so mad that I asked her this, she pushed my bed over in the room with such force that the bed hit the wall very hard, she bent over to plug the bed into the wall and she could barely get back up. She was rude and hostile and failed to give me tylenol when I was burning with a 103 degree fever. I had to tell the Dr myself in which the Dr had to order the nurse to get me tylenol. There is a lond list of bad experiences in which I could go on about this hospital. My husbands mother passed away here do to nurses error after open heart surgery. If you love your family and yourself DO NOT take them here!

The experience was horrible for my mother. Very understaffed with many apathetic nurses that are probably used to the same complaints and have just given up. There are a few amazing nurses and doctors there, though these are only exceptions. My mother was in an accident and had her pelvis, arms, and a leg operated on; nearly bleeding out during one surgery. It is difficult to get sleep. My mother pressed the call light at 2:30am when her IV ran out and started alarming on 2 North. By 2:45am a CNA responded just to shut off her call light. By 3:00am I had went to the nursing station where I found the nurse (Karla) sitting on a chair doing nothing, not even typing. I asked her for assistance and that my mother has had a very loud alarm going off on her IV for 30 minutes and that she was in pain. It wasnt until 3:20am that she had given my mother pain medication and shut off the IV. After 50 minutes of struggle, she finally laid back down to sleep, with me in a cot next to her hospital bed. By 3:45am a phlebotomist came in to draw blood and turned the lights on abruptly. When she noticed that my mothers arms were fully wrapped/casted, she asked where she normally has blood drawn. When the port in her jugular was recognized, she called for the same nurse. By 4:00am the nurse finally came in and got blood. Im pretty sure these orders were there earlier and didnt get ordered at 3:45am. We just fell back asleep when the CNA came in at 4:30am, turned the lights on again and informed us that he needed to get vitals. It wasnt long before PT/OT, etcetera started coming in. That was my first night with my mother on 2 North. If you love your family, do not bring them here. This was only one day on one unit, I could go on and on. On a positive note, Critical Care had some amazing nurses for some of my mothers days there. Unfortunately PT yanked her head back with her oxygen line (nasal cannula) while in CCU and nearly ripped her central line out of her jugular when one of them didnt see it and tripped on it.

My experience as a "walk-in" patient to Emergency on March 16, 2016 was a nightmare. I will say that any time I actually got to speak to someone in registration or treatment that they were pleasant and concerned. However, these experiences were only a small percentage of the 7 hours and 15 minutes spent with Conroe Emergency. I walked into the Emergency room about noon on referral from an Urgent Care facility which was not equipped to handle my condition. The waiting area was very crowded. I was told to sign into a computer. I reported bleeding from dog bites on both hands. Approximately one hour later, I was called to registration to report my injury and receive the ID bracelet,. Another hour passed before I was sent to x-ray. The Technician was kind and showed me the fracture to my thumb on the x-ray. Unfortunately, he was left to re-bandage my thumb and had no materials available to re-bandage or clean up the blood residue on the screen. He did the best he could, however. I was finally called to a treatment area at about 6:30. In all that time, no one spoke to me or offered any information as to my status in that crowded, dirty and unsanitary waiting area. Others in that area were obviously in pain, but no staff spoke to them either. The medical treatment I received from the P.A. was adequate. However, the hours of waiting when I was in pain and afraid are not to be forgotten or forgiven. I know that this Hospital has a fine record of care for heart patients. But, an organization is "only as good as its weakest link". Shame on you, Conroe Regional! Marilyn Moore

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I went to the ER complaining of ear pain, chest congestion and on top of the whole side of my face was in severe pain. They looked inside of my mouth and turned me away saying it was not a medical emergency. Needless to say I went to St. Lukes and was seen there. After a real exam I was diagnosed with pneumonia and a severe sinus infection. I will say that I was seen in a timely manner. Seeing how I was the only one there. I should of took that as a sign. A town as big as conroe with an empty emergency room. Thanks Conroe Regional Medical for yet not taking the time to diagnose a major medical issue. I really wonder how often this happenes. Update(9.2.2016): Once again Conroe Regional got it wrong. Unable to get into my dentist right away he told me to goto the ER. I showed up with a severe abses tooth. So bad the lower right side of my face looked like I had a baseball in my mouth. I was immediately turned away because they said it was not an emergency. So once again I goto another ER and was immediately seen. I had 5ml of fluid drained, it was swollen that bad! There is something called the blood brain barrier. Great call again Conroe Regional! That was the final straw! I now carry a slip of paper behind my ID explaining if I am in a accident not to take me to Conroe at all costs!!!! It is sad that I have to goto that extreme!
