Im one of those thats not only scared of the dentist but also do everything I can to avoid going. Well with one of my wisdom teeth acting up, I decided to give in and go. My husband had a root canal and crown done at Sandy Lake late last year and had a good experience so I decided to take his word for it...and Im glad I did! The staff - from the front desk to the dentists - are amazing...so personable and do everything they can to make you feel comfortable! I had my initial visit then scheduled getting a wisdom tooth extraction for 3 teeth all within a weeks time. In about a month or two I need to go back for a cleaning and get some more work done, and honestly I cant wait (and I NEVER ever thought Id be excited to go to the dentist!). If you go, be sure to check out their site or the local Ad Pages as well....they have some great incentives for new patients.

I am not a huge fan of dental visits, but I have always had consistently good experiences with Sandy Lake Dental & Orthodontics. Everyone on staff is friendly and efficient. Ive never had to wait more than a few minutes for my appointment, the costs are explained clearly and in advance, and the professionalism of the staff is always evident. Even those procedures that are less than pleasant are carried out with a calm and low-key manner, which greatly relaxes this otherwise anxious dental patient. My whole family gets their dental care here - its the best office weve ever found. Highly recommended.

I must say this was the most comfortable dentist office I may ever experience. The waiting room is homey, the rooms are cozy with good-feel artwork, and the staff is absolutely top of the line! They listened to me intently and were more than motivated to accommodate me to ensure i was comfortable. Had a tooth extracted and felt almost zero pain afterwards. NOW THATS SOME HIGH QUALITY WORK. I havent been to the dentist in over a decade and had to get a cleaning before getting braces next door. Lacy was so sweet and very gentle with my cleaning. She explained every tool before she used it and told me exactly what I should expect before each step. I was nervous and she kept me at ease throughout the entire process. The office was clean and the ladies at the front desk are pleasant each time I come in. My mother also attends and she has been pleased with the work shes had done over the years.

I am not a fan of going to the dentist and had not been in 5-6 years (dont judge) but finally I decided to go in and have my mouth tortured. To my surprise I had a great experience. Nicole (dental hygienist) was awesome. She took great care not to cause me any pain and made sure I was comfortable. She even chatted with me and responded to my garbled conversation and nervous babbling. If you want to keep your teeth in tip top shape use these people and ask for Nicole! Ill be back in 6 months.

This was my best experience at a dental orifice in the whole state of Texas. Ive been around and this one is the actual best. Dr. Shad Hattaway filled several of my cavities, he made me very comfortable, was very thorough and explained everything he was doing while he was doing it. My respect is hard to win but Dr. Hattaway was so knowledgable and friendly that I felt like I could trust him as a professional and connect with him as a human. Great person, great practice, yes, yes, yes.

Their treatment has led me down the path of recovery, not only dental health, but peace of mind. I have going to SLD for a long time now. It has changed hands during this period, but the doctors/hygienists are impeccable and helpful. Dr. Horton is the best there is! Most importantly the facility is really good with no outside need on all your dental work!!

I visited this dentistry recently. Had a very unpleasent experience. I was over charged for x-rays, (other dentistries offer x-rays at much lower cost). Secondly my dental problem was not addressed and was served with a fat bill to pay.

I will never go back. I was a regular customer. I went in with tooth pain. It needs extraction...they dont have time today to pull a tooth and gave me no antibiotics or anything today. I felt so unimportant.
