UPDATE on 7/18/2016: So I read the response provided by the owner and although I appreciate him writing a thoughtful response I have decided to downgrade my star-rating to 1-star. The response sounded like the owner was more interested in self-advertisement than in truly remedying the problem. Now I am even more sure that I would never recommend this place to any of my friends and family. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I came in looking for some prescription glasses. I already had a prescription (from Americas Best) but was not happy with their selection. I was in the neighborhood so I stopped by Eye Pieces. Unfortunately I didnt receive the customer service that others write about in their reviews. The receptionist greeted me but other than that it was difficult getting anyone to help me. There were 3 people working and only one was helping customers. I finally got some help and tried on some glasses the person helping me was not friendly, didnt provide any help and didnt suggest other glasses. In fact I cant recall her even asking me what type of glasses I was looking for. It almost felt like "hurry up try these on so I can get back to what I was doing". I did ask to use the restroom when I first got there and was told they dont have a restroom except for employees?? What kind of optometrist doesnt have restrooms for customers or potential customers?? Also their selection for glasses was not very good and was pretty limited. I left without buying anything but I did like a pair that I probably would have purchased had the customer service been better.

Had a brief phone conversation with April today. Very rude customer service. I have United Healthcare vision insurance, and called to inquire about the in network frame allowance. She told me Eye Pieces was a boutique shop and only offered 20% off. That did not make sense to me as my insurance told me they were in network, and I should be able to receive a $250 frame allowance. I asked her to explain and she repeated again and hung up. I then called United Healthcare back to ask how 20% off works when I am suppose to receive $250 toward frames. The United Healthcare representative then called Eye Pieces back to inquire about their contract with United Healthcare, and April would not answer the questions and hung up on the United Healthcare representative. United Healthcare has now turned over the case to a contract representative. I would not recommend buying high end frames from this place. There are several places in the area to receive nice customer service and designer frames. Occhiali, Uptown Vision, and Optique on the other side of McKinney Ave. I have purchased several frames from Uptown Vision over the years unfortunately they dont accept my insurance at this time. However, OPTIQUE does. My insurance helped locate them today. The staff at Optique were very friendly and helpful in finding me a new pair of eyeglasses today.

I have been a patient of both Dr. Gonzalez and Dr. Nguyen over the past 5 years Ive lived in Dallas and they are both wonderful. They have consistently nailed my prescription and they have thoroughly and clearly explained each test they have run and every recommendation they have made (i.e. why Im not an ideal candidate for lasik, ways of caring for my dry eyes, the pros and cons of different contact lenses, etc.) Their advice is specific to me and takes things like exposure to dust at work (in construction), my allergies, and even the sports I play into account. My eyesight has actually improved slightly since Ive been a patient and I now use less strong contacts and glasses. Pretty cool. I am always in and out in under an hour and any time spent waiting is in an absolutely glorious massage chair. (Seriously, check that thing out). I dont have insurance so I pay cash for my visit and I dont even mind because the service is so great. Plus if you compare what it costs to care for your eyes to what it costs to do any number of personal things (like say getting hair cuts or pedicures) theres really no comparison at all. Insurance or not, its money well spent.

I found the staff at this office very friendly and helpful. When I made my eye exam appointment, they directed me to a website so that I can do my new patient paperwork online. When I arrived at Eye Pieces, they already had my insurance benefits ready for me. Dr. Gonzalez was able to see me right away. After my eye exam, I wasnt sure what type of glasses I wanted. But, Alma the Optrician was extremely helpful in making sure I had all the necessary features I was looking for in a pair of glasses. She even guided me to the style of frames that would look best of my face. Eye Pieces has a great variety of fashion frames for men and women. I will definitely be coming back for my next eye exam.

I went in to get my eyes checked for both glasses and contacts and the staff there were phenomenal. Dr. Nguyen explained everything in detail and was extremely thorough with the procedure. She made sure ensuing was PERFECT! I also bought my glasses with them and the staff there were very patient during the picking out the "perfect frames" process for me since Im extremely picky with my glasses. When I came back to pick up my glasses (which only took two days). Both Dr. Nguyen and Dr. Gonzalez took time out of their busy schedule to thank me for the business. I would highly recommend Eyepieces because I now have a 20/15 vision thanks to them!!

I was looking for a new optometrist in my area, and had a few options. I checked them all out on Google and saw so many positive reviews of this location - I thought, can this many people be wrong? Im happy to say that I did my first appointment today and it was fantastic! The front desk staff was so professional and friendly (Jill was super nice) and Dr. Gonzales really took the time to explain things. I have been wearing contacts since the 6th grade, and Ive never had such an efficient and thorough exam explained so clearly. Also, the equipment all seemed new and was very clean, which I notice as I work in healthcare. Highly recommend!!

Ive been a customer of Eye Pieces for several years and have had a consistently excellent experience. My eyewear purchases there are usually expensive, but only because Im looking for hard-to-find top quality brands like Lunor, Chrome Hearts, or RetroSpecs with latest generation lenses from Zeiss or Hoya. Ive used several different opticians employed by Dr. Bierenbaum and theyre always well-trained, skillful at fitting, and know the latest about optics. The welcome may be a little warmer for regulars, but if you show interest in opthalmics the staff here will rise to the occasion and teach you a lot.

I have used eyewear for 20yrs now and visited several Drs. A few yrs ago, i went to see Dr. Gonzalez. I was amazed by the, level of care he gave me and my children. He genuinely cars about your eye health not just getting you eyewear. most Drs get you in and out without any real explanation or regard for your health. The Eyepieces office is a wonderful place to visit. The optician, Alma was a great help. They are all helpful and knowledgeable. I will continue to visit and recommend everyone to this office.
