I had a not-so-great experience here. The only reason I came here is because theyre on my insurance plan, close to work, offered designer frames, and they were open for business on Good Friday. I walked in with a brand new prescription for eye glasses and because of the way it was written, they had to call the doctor to see if they could fill it (he decided to take off for the holiday while his staff worked). The good doctor said NO. Because I have a very unique prescription, they didnt want to be on the hook for having to re-do my lenses if my optometrist re-did my prescription. I made the mistake of telling them that my doctor wanted to see me back in three weeks to check my vision after Ive had time to get used to my glasses and there was a possibility that my prescription could change. The lady I was dealing with seemed to zero in on this and most-likely conveyed to her boss that I would need an entirely new prescription in 3 weeks. I had to correct her TWICE during our conversation that this was not a certainty, but the damage had already been done and they were not going sell me lenses. As a consolation, as I was being ushered towards the door, she said I could certainly buy my FRAMES from them and get the lenses somewhere else. Yeah, right. Why the hell would I? Not only that, but my prescription has something called "prisms" - 18 to be exact. The girl who verified my insurance said that those were not covered under my insurance plan and that I would have to pay $180 bucks ($10 per prism), out of my pocket - in addition to whatever amount wasnt covered by insurance. (I found out later after going to another doctors office that prisms WERE indeed covered by my insurance and they only charged $4 each). What a difference! Just goes to show what a high mark up this business has. Some people may not mind spending the extra $$$ out of pocket, but I do. I am giving a 1-star rating for the following reasons: 1.) Incorrectly quoting wrong information on my insurance coverage 2.) Extremely expensive - high end swanky boutique 3.) Hastily being hurried out the door after the woman got off the phone with the doctor like I was some kind of pariah 4.) Suffering the humiliation of getting kicked to the curb with my prescription 5.) Having them call me on my cell phone while I was sitting right outside their front door in my car (in tears!) - to tell me I had left my old glasses sitting on the counter 6.) Having to suffer the indignity of walking back in there The woman offered me a word of advice. She said the next place that I go to, dont even mention that I have to go back and see my eye doctor in 3-weeks and that they may have to re-do my perscription. I hate this place and the shabby way I was treated. Fortunately there was a silver lining... Please check out my glowing review for Todays Vision in Rockwall.

Update 09/24/2013 I removed a star from my review because it took nearly 3 weeks to get my glasses last year! Had I known/or been informed I probably would have chosen a location with an in house dispensary. I have scheduled an appointment this Saturday Morning (09/28/2013) at 10:45 for a contact lens exam. Depending on the results I will update this review. Overall I had a very good experience at Optique. The receptionists were very nice and helpful. The doctor (Dr Orm) was also very pleasant and understanding of my requests.. there is just one small thing that i wished they would have done differently.. I was not offered the opportunity to look around the boutique for frames by myself.. instead they ask you what you are looking for and they bring you options.. In a way i felt I was being rushed to make a selection (even though Im sure that was not their intent). All in all it is a very professionally run business, staffed by very pleasant individuals. If my glasses are delivered without any issues I will update this Review to Excellent.

Quick to take your money, not quick to give it back. Has an exam there, and then submitted a claim to my insurance company who then mailed a check to them instead of me. I waited about a month and a half to see if they would mail my refund. They did not. I called and was told the person I needed to talk to was out but would call me the next day. They never did. Over a week goes by and I call back. I was again told that they would call me back as the person was out of the office. I told the guy that I was told someone would call me back already and they never did. He said he would make a personal note to have me called back, I never received the call. Three weeks later I call back and demanded to speak to someone, I finally got the issue resolved (I think). Havent received my check just yet, so it is still to be determined. Were they planning on keeping my money forever? They appear to be very disorganized, and for a doctors office, this is a bit concerning.

Ive purchased four new pairs of frames/lenses from Optique. Ive found my experience to both pleasant and satisfying. The doctors are thorough and knowledgable. The staff is super friendly to both myself and the two referring clients I sent to Optique. In addition to my new pairs of frames/lenses, I trusted them to replace lenses in my Nike frames (over five years old) and another one of my favorite frames. Now, this did take longer, but they kept me informed. I also expected to take longer since the frames were older. Another advantage is the superb selection of frames in the boutique. UBER stylish. And I do like my frames to be original. Im a friend on their FB page. I just got my Ferragamos back! Im working my stylish specs! So, dont listen to the negativity!

I had a decent experience with the doctor and the front desk secretary. I did not have to wait too long to be seen so that was nice. What I did not appreciate was the associate responsible for helping patients choose new frames. After picking a pair of frames she explained to me the total cost with everything included. The quoted price was too much for my budget so I apologetically told her that I would rather use my old frames and just have the lenses replaced. I was smugly told, "Well, this is something youre going to wear on your face everyday and its a very good price." I again apologized and declined the new lenses. I got nothing but attitude from that point till I walked out. It is by no means a bad office. I just wish I was respected a bit more.

My glasses were done wrong. The clerk added a lot of extra fees at the time I ordered the lenses including the thin lens", she said they would look good. When I picked them up they were so ugly, thick and unpresentable, the staff knew something was wrong and called some other staff. The second one knew something was wrong too and called the doctor. the doctor (Orm) acted more like a salesman and tried to fool me around. Finally he said that they would need to be done all over again but he wanted more money. He wanted me to pay for their mistake. They were so unprofessional and offered no solution. Typical case of "bait & switch". actually professional boards prohibit this practice. Stay away, go to a more reputable place.
