The worst clinic ever !! My sweetest baby parrotlet was hurt near the beak. We got him treated with an emergency care. Next day, he was doing great. he played, ate and was very active as usual. The beak really dint bother him much. That evening, we took him to Summertree. It was greatest and unforgivable mistake that we took him to this clinic. My bird had a general checkup with Dr. Laura Brazelton months ago when we bought him new. So, we thought to take our bird to get him checked with her regarding the hurt. She checked and said the bird is doing good, heart beat is fine, no weightloss and to take care of him with his diet. And I really doubt if she studied medicine and if she has a valid degree to treat birds and animals. She applied some medicine to our bird and told us it would numb the hurt area. In next half hour, the bird started to sleep. We thought it was bcos of the medicine that the bird is feeling sleepy. We checked after a couple of hours, I tried to feed him but he was still dozing in sleep, he couldnt open his eyes any longer. He couldnt stand on his feet too. I was under the impression that we just brought him from the doctor and they clearly said he is doing fine. So, though he was dozing, I only waited for him to wake up. But the worst struck, Our most precious pet has died in the next two hours. I called the clinic and got the medicine name which she applied and researched on it, For you all out there, Dr. Laura Brazelton gave the bird local anesthesia which is very toxic and to be given in very minute amounts in case of a surgery.Signs of overdose with lidocaine may include excitement initially, seizures, depression, respiratory arrest, cardiovascular collapse and death. My bird dint have to undergo any surgery, but then Dr Laura gave the local anesthesia for no reason. She dint check the dosage to be applied to that smallest bird. She dint even warn us of any signs of emergency after giving that medicine. All we thought is he is in sedation after the medicine and we waited for him to wake up. My poor baby bird had to suffer those last hours with a respiratory arrest, cardiovascular collapse and died just because of the negligence of Dr Laura Brazelton. She doesnt deserve to be a doctor and play with lives of poor babies. I have complained to the summertree clinic and tehy all are very sorry for our loss. But I would warn everyone out there never to take your pets to this clinic ever. Even the fine doing babies will die.

I had an emergency with my ferret and Summertree was able to take my ferret in right away with no appointment. As soon as I got there, they took my ferret to the back to check him right away while I was filling out paperwork. They were able to diagnose what was wrong with my sweet boy but due to his old age and his quickly declining health I only had two options to help him which the vet was patient for me to make a decision. They were never pushy at all and all of the staff was very kind to my boy. My ferret had to be euthanized to end his pain as the treatment was too expensive for me to afford to pay. During the euthanasia, the staff took us into a quiet room where he could be put to sleep calmly and peacefully. Even though we had to go this route, they were very professional and went over all options possible for him. For typical care for the rest of my animals, I will be using this facility again.

I definitely appreciated the assistance I received for my chicken. However, she was misdiagnosed and appeared to have a bite of some kind that caused her illness, as opposed to cancer. Additionally, I was given incorrect information regarding antibiotics to give to laying hens, received very expensive medication that I could not use in laying hens, was not able to communicate with the veterinarian beyond the initial face-to-face interaction, and could not get a timely response from the practice manager regarding a refund for the medication that I could not use. There is a great need for veterinarians who will care for poultry. I encourage this clinic to build on their existing knowledge regarding safe management of animals used for human food production and consumption. The front office staff were great! Thank you for your care.

Dr. Sohner has been our veterinarian since 2003. In particular she and her staff helped us care for a singularly difficult Siamese cat as she aged and developed a complex of serious of health issues. Diagnosing and treating these issues was not straightforward. Dr. Sohner put in significant extra effort in developing a treatment plan which helped our cat live into old age in reasonably good health. She has brought the same care to our other less problematic pets. Although we have primarily relied on Dr. Sohner, we have found the other Summertree veterinarians equally helpful and concerned within the care of our pets.

I took my hamster here when he had VERY swollen testicals & was clearly in pain... They got us an appt for the same hour we called, which I was SO thankful for! And then we thout doing any expensive tests they were able to give us pain medicine & antibiotics, which did in fact take care of the problem in under a week!! On top of that they gave us a first time visitors discount, so the visit really wasnt all that much, especially considering they saved our little Frodo! Hes now back to his energetic, healthy self... Thanks, Summertree! I will be taking all my animals here from now on :)

(Read zero stars) My brothers chameleon ripped out a toenail on her cage and after her foot became quite swollen we brought her in to get everything checked out, she was dignosed with an infection and then the vet popped her hand like a pimple, and now our Cham is missing her entire toe. After months of using medication that does not work, today in an animal hospital, our Cham was diagnosed with metabolic bone disease. Apparently this is not the first time summertree has misdiagnosed a pet, and this could possibly be fatal to ours. If you love your pet, take them ANYWHERE else.

They have always been very sensitive to my financial needs as well as mine and my pets feelings. Very easy to work with, get ahold of, schedule and talk to. The staff is all very nice. The veterinary care has always been great. The thing that stands out most in my memory is when I had to tell them that my guinea pig passed away so I needed to cancel his appointment and the entire staff signed a sympathy card that they sent to me. I was never expecting that and when I got it in the mail and opened it, it meant so much. Thank you Summertree; keep up the good work!

I cant say enough about pleased I am with Summertree Animal and Bird Clinic. Ive brought my African Greys to Dr. Hays and his staff since 1982. In my opinion. Dr. hays is one of the leading Avian Vets in the country. Recently Dr. Brazelton treated an eye issue on one of my Greys, I again was very pleased with her treatment (care and expertise) and am happy to say the bird is healing nicely. Based on my experience with Summertree, they receive my highest recommendation.
