Dr. Sue, Dr. Julie and everyone at the PRAH are amazing. I found them 13 years ago when my other vet closed early and I was taking my cat to the Emergency Vet. I saw their sign and stopped there instead of going to the ER vet. Im so happy I did!! They love the animals and are extremely knowledgeable. My 16 year old cat, Tigger, was in the final stages of renal disease and Dr. Sue cried with me when he had to be put to sleep. They didnt know him or me but Dr. Sue was very sweet and kind. I couldnt stay in the room when she did the final shot so she picked him up and put him on her shoulder. I walked out of the room and turned around to see him one last time. I noticed she was crying too. Thats my kind of vet. I got another cat, Ebony, and took him right to PRAH. Dr. Sue and Dr. Julie guided me through all the issues that he had (heart murmur, thymoma, crystals in his bladder, tearing off his hair around his wrists, etc.). Saturday night of Labor Day weekend, I had to rush him to the Emergency Vet and found out he had lung cancer (no hope). I took him the next day to PRAH (Sunday), but they had a full schedule. BUT the vet tech, Amanda, said that she would be working at the Emergency Vet later that day. Ebony would have someone that he knew to put him to sleep. Thats the kind of people that work there. They LOVE the animals. I now have a new 5 month old kitten and I took him to PRAH for his first checkup. Dr. Sue called me about Ebony and said that if I needed to talk or had questions that she was available. When I saw Dr. Julie on Saturday, she was very sympathetic and spent some time discussing Ebony. Also, helped me with the new kitten questions, since its been 13 years since I had a kitten!! They are a BIG blessing!!!

Ive recently had to visit the area from Houston and my dog needed a veterinarian. I was told by my veterinarian in Houston that the doctors at Preston Road Animal Hospital were excellent. The scheduling staff easily got us in on short notice. I was a little concerned about the construction in the area when I got there and the age of the building but when I walked in, I definetly had a better feeling! The girls at the desk were very nice. The front lobby was quiet and nice. Not smelly like animals or noisy and scary for my dog. There was even a water station on the floor for my dog with little dog bowls available! We were taken back where we met with a nurse, sorry, Im not good with names. Dr. Sue Chastain was our doctor that day. I loved her! She was so energetic and thorough. She was very caring with my dog, great sense of humor and took the time to explain what we might need to do. She was great about discussing options and pricing. We opted to do some xrays and go from there. They took my dog and brought her back within a few minutes. We had a diagnosis and meds within no time. I cant even go to my own doctor and have it go so smooth! Is nice to see a welcoming staff that seems to have everything in order and very responsive. I nearly felt like I was best friends with the doctor in that short appointment. Apparently, they also have another location which I did not get to see but I heard from a client while there that its also real nice. I would highly recommend Preston Animal Hospital.

MUST RAVE ABOUT THIS VET!! If youre looking for someone to care for your precious furry baby in DFW-- I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them! Dr. Lauren and the entire team were beyond excellent with our baby Zoe and with a very nervous mama & daddy. The rating on here only goes to 5 stars, but I give them 10!! From the moment we walked in we were treated with love, compassion and kindness. Zoe is NOT the easiest dog and Heather & Dr. Lauren calmed her down and treated her like their own. When your furry baby is in her final days, special understanding and care is needed because emotions are running high. Dr. Lauren made me feel at peace and went over her bloodwork and ultrasound in full detail so we had absolutely no question about what was going on in her frail old body. She spoke to us with such patience and referred us to an overnight emergency clinic and they were also amazing MedVet - Dallas. She filled their docs in thoroughly on Zoes issues. Then she called me the next day to check on us and send her love when she heard Zoe had passed. Dr. Lauren went above and beyond. Its truly her calling and I will always remember this clinic for treating Zoe like the little princess she was on her last day with us. <3

Ive used this vet a few times with our foster animals and liked the staff. So I decided to give them a try with a kitten that I was in the process of adopting and paid for the bill myself. Their prices were on the high side of average, but what really bugs me is the charge of the medication. They charged me $32.28 for .16ml of a generic pain med, Meloxicam. Do you know how LITTLE .16ml is? So I called to inquire, as generally, a 20-30ml BOTTLE of the branded drug Metacam is that price, so I thought maybe they accidentally charged me for a full bottle. NOPE - they just decided to charge a 125% (did I even do that math correctly) for a generic medication. She tried to explain how the suspension is more expensive but Ive bought Metacam before and had looked up the pricing before I even called. No apologies, nothing. Except my money in their pocket. So while I liked the vets, I feel like they did a GREAT job of ripping me off and cant see myself going here again with my personal business. And I should mention that we have three dogs and three cats of our own for which I was shopping for a new, closer vet clinic. What is that line from "Pretty Woman" - "Big mistake. Big. Huge."

My husband and I have been taking our dogs to PRAH for a long time. Our experiences have been great and we really like it there. They seem to really care about our dogs and that means a lot to me. Im the kind of person who thinks of their animals as family and I want them treated that way wherever they go. I feel like the people at PRAH do that. We could go to twenty vets that are much closer to where we live but we drive to PRAH, that speaks volumes. Some people Ive referred to PRAH complain about their prices. I havent been to another vet in so long I cant really comment on that. To me, all vets are expensive. The difference here is that you get what you pay for. Ive had to call after hours on more than one occasion and I was able to talk to a vet. I was never made to feel that I was a nuisance. As far as Im concerned, you cant get better service than that. Furthermore, they are open seven days a week and you can typically get same day appointments. My friends and family who use other area vets do not get the same service. Needless to say, I highly recommend Preston Road Animal Hospital.
