They have people shilling the reviews of this establishment with strangely short descriptions of 5 star experiences to offset the truly bad reviews it gets. Just look and see: shortly after my negative review is posted someone will write 2 generalized sentences about how great this place is and give a it a 5/5 review. They also try to discredit any negative reviews by claiming that the person is not a client at their facility. I will gladly provide access to information proving that I was indeed a client if they attempt to write off my review as fake. Anyway, Who would randomly write a negative review about a vet they were never a client at? Kind of a strange thing to do, dont you think? The bad reviews seem very similar to my experience at this vet. First off, they try to get you to spend as much money as possible with constant fecal exams instead of simply deworming your dog. Its a bit odd that theyre so fond of sticking foreign objects in a dogs anus instead of simply practicing preventative medicine. I took my pug in because she had kennel cough that she got from the last visit to this not-so-clean vet. She was also having extremely frequent and uncontrollable urination problems. All the doctor did was brush my concerns aside, feel the dogs neck, and generally act as if he were too busy to entertain my stupid questions. The pup did in fact have kennel cough from visiting their establishment and they admittedly knew it. But the old doctor just wanted me to let it run its course. He completely ignored any of my concerns about the extremely frequent urination problems. The doctor always acts as if he is too busy to spend more than a few minutes speaking with you no matter what time of day it is. He simply does not have the time of day for you. I guess he has pressing matters in the back he needs to attend such as ordering more of the rectal swabs that theyre so fond of using I then took my puppy to a Petsmart Banfield where a nice young veterinarian who actually had somewhere to be (a conference where she was probably staying abreast of CURRENT veterinarian practices) yet she took the time to very patiently and thoroughly answer all of my questions. It turns out that my puppy had a urinary tract infection in addition to the kennel cough she had contracted at Pet Vet. She prescribed amoxicillin which fixed BOTH the UTI and the kennel cough. It was all included on a $25 monthly plan I purchased. In short, this place is very bad and will do anything to mark up your vet bill with needless expenses. The rose-tinted nostalgia of a mom and pop vet clinic may drive your will to attempt to support places like this one. You should avoid that inclination if possible because these people dont care about your pet or you. They care about whats inside your pocketbook. If you go to a big box Petsmart Banfield you will get better, more thorough, up-to-date veterinary care for your pet at a much less expensive rate ($25 a month plan instead of over $100 for every visit to Pet Vet Animal Hospital). When I tried to get them to fax my records over to my new, better, less expensive vet they simply would not do so until I was forced to get the receptionist at Banfield to call and request them again herself. Avoid this place at all costs. They will undoubtedly write some smart-ass response to my review in attempt to discredit it while simultaneously mocking me. Type away, I will promptly disregard whatever you have to say. What I will do, however, is tell every pet owner I come in contact with to avoid your establishment at all costs. Have a good day :)

I have been in the veterinary field for a very long time, and I am amazed. First of all, those of you that are taking sick animals to a veterinarian that youve just met- Why dont you have a regular veterinarian? If it is because you just moved, then that is no excuse. You should have gone to meet area veterinarians and decide on one prior to your pet getting sick. My dogs have been with the same vet their entire lives. One of my dogs is now 21- and I couldnt imagine entering another veterinary clinic and saying, my dog has this or that wrong with it. Secondly, you are writing reviews complaining about things the veterinarian has recommended for your pet. If you wanted a band-aid and an ice pack, why did you go to the veterinary office to begin with? It is a veterinarians obligation to recommend all testing and surgical procedures and vaccinations that your pet needs based on location, time of year, breed, age, etc. It would be ethically and morally wrong of him NOT to recoommend these. For example, if you have a new kitten, take it in to see him, he gives it a once over and a wormer and sends you on your way, then 6 months later, your other cat @ home is sick. You take it in, end up testing it for Feline Leukemia, and it tests positive, because your new kitten had it. Whats your complaint then? I never knew I should have tested my kitten! Give this veterinarian a break. He obviously cares enough to respond. Do some research! Meet your veterinarian prior to your pet being sick or injured. I have been a veterinary technician for 18 years, and I my veterinarian would have made the same recommendations that he did- and if yours didnt, I would worry about your current veterinarian!

HORRIBLE! DO NOT GO! I really hate to give a bad review, but I have to when the treatment of my animal was so egregious. I took my pug to see this vet for a limp she developed. I was told immediately upon examination by Dr. Moore that she had a large tumor and that it was cancer. Much like the other review, I was told it was too late in the day to x-ray her and I would have to bring her back tomorrow. That first trip cost me $90.00. I took her back the next day and left her for x-rays. I got a call from an assistant stating that the doctor needed permission to do a chest x-ray because he thought he saw something in her chest. This, of course, was $100+ extra. Once I got to the office and reviewed the x-rays with Dr. Moore, he stated that the one x-ray of her leg was a “bad x-ray” and that was why he thought there was something in her chest. Why should I have to pay for a bad/inconclusive x-ray done by his staff? And furthermore, why would he charge me to do a chest x-ray based on a bad x-ray of her leg? Dr. Moore could not tell me what the mass in her shoulder was from the x-ray and suggested a $300 biopsy. He also stated he believed my 10 year old pug was in the “last year of her life.” My bill was already at $450.00 for the second visit so I declined the biopsy and opted to take her to another vet. The second vet checked her out and determined the swelling in her shoulder region had completely diminished and that it was most likely inflammation from a bite. She has completely returned to normal. I’m sorry but this vet does not know what he is doing.
